  1. Man I like those Lage uppers. Makes a run of the mill Mac look legit.
  2. I personally think it is probably a good thing that Dollywood and most amusement parks post. Having a gun get loose on a roller coaster or getting enough force on a piece to discharge it would be bad for everyone. Plus they are highly controlled on what comes in so the likely hood of a scenario in which you would need deadly force is probably next to nil. I mean seriously, they ban people who have heart problems, undersized folks, and pregnant women from most rides but you don't have the ACLU suing any of them.
  3. That sounds like a good idea, but if you have paid attention to politics the last few years - it doesn't work. The more you allow the opposition to control the conversation you loose exponentially more ground. What we need to do is be more active and outspoken and not worry about every little possible setback but fight to win the war and not every little battle. The anti's will report on whatever they want to and spin it to their own end. running around trying to put out every little fire will only make you tired and teh fire will rage.
  4. Contact Steelharp. He's been around a while and is in the buisness.
  5. For a great place a lot closer go to Guns and Leather in Greenbrier. They have a ton of NICE AK's and AR's in a variety of configurations and calibers. there are so many it is sometimes hard for me to tell what I'm looking at.
  6. No quicker than anything else they are trying to use to push it through.
  7. My reading and understanding would put Olympic way down on the list. RRA, Bushmaster, DPMS are in my mind good quality rifles with very little difference. IMO the best bang for the buck is Del-Ton. You won't beat their price by building and get a about as much customization as you want for solid prices.
  8. Because if you ever so slightly swing your arm in anyones general direction it would be considered brandishing. According to most LE interpretation of the matter.
  9. I guess they didn't know one of the pro's of 9mm is it's ability to defeat body armor!? Of course that is if it's real.
  10. IMO an SBR'd AR is taking all of the worst features of the AR and degrading them more and upping your cost by $200.
  11. I haven't heard, but i have read that the MSAR is better due to the improvements they made. Shotgun News had a nice article on them in the last issue.
  12. BTW Steyr's AUG is going to be available again shortly.... maybe Steyr Mannlicher US:Â Steyrarms.com
  13. I've been thinking about this too and if I had the money I would go with the MSAR.
  14. I doubt it's real, but it sounds very realistic!
  15. Got this in an e-mail and thought it was kinda funny.
  16. No doubt. the stress in the chess game of rotating who we put off paying and making sure they got caught up was more than i realized.
  17. I've kinda got to where I like them...... my wife doesn't though!
  18. After a tough 4 years, I have finally done it! I'm debt free! Well, except for 60K left on the house. For anyone thinking of doing the Dave Ramsey plan, or a similar plan, I highly recommend it. Now I didn't follow it directly but none the less the principles are the same. A little background. I had accumulated roughly 60k in medical and life expenses over the last 12 years (school, 3 kids, moving, job changes, poor spending habits etc.). My wife and I set a goal of getting out of debt when we moved to Nashville 4 years ago within 4 years. We had some help along the way, but we made it. Now 11 months ago we were 40k short and didn't look like we could get anywhere close, but a motorcycle wreck turned into a blessing and helped us meet our goal. I don't suggest that route:screwy: but as the proverb says, "in his heart mans plans his path, but God directs his footsteps. This meant we had one vehicle for the last 9 years, I don't buy clothes (If you've met me I'm probably wearing one of 2 or 3 outfits I own), moved 13 times in 3 years, and scimped and saved every nickel, except for gun stuff which I called investments! Most of which I sold when we needed extra money. As of this week I owe no one! I have my 6.8 build nearly done, my Mossy 500 decked out, a Hi-power with all the frills, my Glock 19, mags and ammo, 2 nice paid for vehicles and will be adding 400 sq. ft on to our 758 sg ft. house and it was all done in cash! I don't say this to brag but to encourage others that it can be done. It is truly feeing to be in no mans servitude, as the scriptures say, "the borrower is slave to the lender". BTW - All this in a crappy economy and I have not made over 35k a year in the last 12 years. In fact I made considerably less. It's not how much you have, but what you do with it.
  19. also it is not recommended to shoot 5.56 in a .223 gun due to the pressure issues. However, you can safely shoot .223 in a 5.56 chambered gun. On most AR's the barrel will have the chamber stamped on it. Most will be 5.56.
  20. So far price difference is about $20 (VTAC more).
  21. Yeah, that's kinda what I'm looking for. I will probably use a bi-pod and a forward grip (not together) and a top rail for the scope mount and front sight. I do like the look of the VTAC better than the YHM but I don't know how solid they are. I've had the YHM stuff before and it's solid.
