  1. are you media blasting them down to take off the original finish or just going over the top of the old finish? Reason I ask, is if it matters or is there an adhesion issue with the old finish still on it.
  2. Looking for some new grips for the .40 Hi-Power. I've had some really nice wood grips in cocobolo (current) and some beautiful Celtic cross ivory wood grips from Esmeralda (NICE! ask Magic!), so I'm looking for something more practical this time. Currently looks like this: here are the choices: 1. VZ Pro Slims 2. VZ Diamond Back 3. Alumagrips - color?
  3. I wouldn't worry about a lock if it's hidden. I personally am going with this. If it needs to be secured a simple chain lock will work. Plus if I have to take it with me it works equally well. Amazon.com: Molle SHOTGUN SCABBARD Universal Mount Sling--TAN: Sports & Outdoors
  4. Maks are great inexpensive (Russian and E German excluded) pocket pistols. The trigger pull can be reduced through springs and the round is pretty good. Plus you can change barrels and make it a .380. They are rock solid pistols. As has been said the p64 is NOT a Makarov. It is more akin to a PPK clone, although internals are a little different. That being said I prefer the P64 to a Mak due to size and asthetics. The Makarov site is a very good resource.
  5. according to the last DHS memo weren't Christians, right to life, conservatives, and tea party protesters on the watch out list?
  6. Well, I learn something new everyday. Were they Canadian imports?
  7. Yellowstone is pretty good. If you get a little more time go on up to Glacier NP! Absolutely beautiful and not near the traffic.
  8. When were they ever available? I think you may be confusing the the TAVOR with the AUG. BTW - this would truly be awesome if CD can pull it off!
  9. Eh, the other guy is about the same. I do think it buys time which is always a good thing. I also think the destabilization of the current structure is also a good thing. As justme pointed out Iran had been historically fairly civil - until the "revolution". Since then they have quietly been one of the largest funders of weapons and money to Hesbollah, terroist, etc. against Israel and the world. A little instability might be a good thing if it allows the Iranian people to get back on the good track.
  10. When I was looking into it, I couldn't really beat the price of plinking 9mm and since I can't just buy the bullets of the HP I wanted it made more sense to just get my practice stuff at Walmart. I think it would have saved me a cent or two a round reloading. Now that I finally got my 6.8 AR build up I will definitely start loading for that and 9mm now that the cost is spread out. I guess my point is on 9mm or say .22 it's hard to justify buying all the equipment to not really save anything for a long time. With .40 and up or specialty stuff it makes a whole lot more sense.
  11. Yeah, 99.7 till 11 then it's 1510 AM for Limbaugh. After that it's kinda of a toss up. I hate that they put Thompson up against Limbaugh though. I really like him.
  12. The hardest part is finding a place to go. I usually run into folks, mainly at church, who hunt and they let me go on their land or lease. Other than that use something bigger than .22 and sit and wait.
  13. I got one of those gen1 Bushnell monoculars from Sams awhile back. Pretty neat. No gun mounted stuff though. I use mine for seeing whats in the yard before I light it up with my flashlight or BB gun! Beware dogs and cats.
  14. One instance in the face of a WMD threat at the outbreak of war? Yeah, that was so over the top. Iraq had threatened WMD's and conversely had sent scuds towards Israel. To be on alert is routine in that instance. Come on DaveTN you know better than that. If I'm not mistaken it was Isreal that sent a lone plane in to bomb Iraq's nuclear facility to avoid an upscale war prior to 1991. I might mention that it was a success. Israel has been more than accomodating in avoiding conflict. However, if some one insist they TCB.
  15. Based on what? The 50+ years of restraint in the face of out right hostilities? Oh, that every country were so measured.

Do remember we only see what is not edited. Sometimes when i see those "missing" clips from shows (not just this one) it changes the feel quite a bit. Just saying.

    Glock Finish?

Yeah I know that, but is it plasti-dip or what?
  19. Man, I've been ignoring this thread. You are correct they have said no weapons, the fatwa, etc. but then in the same topic of nuclear power (undefined) that Israel must be wiped off the face of the earth etc. Their is only one way to do that nuclear. They have developed the carrier missles and targeting systems thanks to Russia, France, and Germany (same as Iraq). To take them at their word and not their actions is like Leroy said, not wise. as far as no WMD you again may want to check you facts on that one. We did indeed find several stockpiles of chemical and biological agents, production facilities, etc. Was Iraq maybe faking a little to project more power to the other Arab nations? Possibly, but everyone - even those who didn't agree with us - though it was true. We also know that 60k dead Kurdish as well as many dead Iranians would testify that he not only had them but used them to great effect. If a guy is holding me up at gunpoint I'm gonna asume the gun is loaded. If after I find out it was empty.... well, that's not my concern or problem. There were mistakes made no doubt, but again that is what happens in war. If the media had been around in WWII, Patton, Montgomery, and every other great general wouldn't have lasted a month. War is an ugly imperfect science based on deception, misinformation, propaganda, fear, power, death, ect. It is far from clean and surgical as some arm chair generals like to think.

    Glock Finish?

So I've had about every gun that has tennifer/melonite and I have noticed a difference between the rest and Glock. The Glock has almost a plastic texture resilience to the slide that other tenniferd guns don't. My question is what gives it that Glock plasti-dip type feel. I really like it. I have a new Walther P99 that has Tennifer and it feels more like an XD, M&P, or the others with the same treatment. So other than PERFECTION! what makes the Glock different?

Personally I hate the show. I think it has become exploitive, granted by their permission, and I just don't like those shows anyway. That being said it is always sad when families struggle. It is even sadder when they can't handle their own business without a press conference and a special episode, regardless of who's to blame. They need to get off TV for their own survival. Really is sad all around.
  22. You just keep opening your mouth to remove the doubt..... Iran has stated numerous times they desire a bomb. There is nothing Israel can do after the fact.
  23. the whole article is bogus anyway. The focus is bars where the bill doesn't apply anyway!
  24. The problem with N Korea is China is using them as a buffer against us. It is a way to undermine and open another front and allow them deniability. NK does not exist without China. It also allows them to keep pressure on Japan and Tawain so that China can dominate the region. To take care of NK you have to go to war against China and no one wants that. It is a chess game for the ages miltarily and diplomacy speaking. Iran is different. They are backed by Russia (mainly) and can be dealt with since Russia and other Europeans countries supporting her behind the curtains can not afford a direct or indirect conflict (they are currently engaged in that in Iraq) and will probably bow out if all out war happened. The Israleis dealt with Saddams threat by simply sending one bomber to take out their facilities. Game over. We can do that easily with Iran but we (US) would have to deal with even more Arab ire. The best way is to let loose the Israelis and let them take care of their own buisness and let us hold the secondaries at bay.
