  1. I may have missed something, but isn't it a very hard and complicated thing to get a street rezoned as private property? I can't imagine anything the city or Beale Street folks have done has rezoned it. If that is the case it wouldn't matter what district or other designation the area is, the street itself would still be public property and thus illegal to barricade and search as it is done. Now they obviously did something to all alcohol to be sold on the side walks, but I don't know if that would alter the street itself. If they didn't sell their rights to the road property to a private party then it wouldn't it still be public thoroughfare and subject to said laws?. Just curious if anyone actually knows.
  2. FINALLY! got to the range to puts some rounds through both of these beauties. The Walther did not disappoint and was everything I had hoped it would be. This is my second one and the accuracy of my first was proved with my second. Sucker shoots straight. It did frustrate me a little at first till I realized I needed to adjust the rear sight a little left. Once that was done, it was good to go. Ergo? What can I say, best I've ever held. Reliability? So far not a problem. I did do the striker spring trick to lighten the 8 lb pull and it helped it quite a bit. The reset is quick, as advertised, but somewhat long. It's not a Glock or M&P reset, but works good enough for me. It should also improve with a couple hundred more rounds. The HP? What can I say? It is an HP. Shot like it was supposed to and removing the mag disconnect and adding the C&S wide combat trigger is mandatory IMO. Had a little take up and I'm told there isn't much that can be done with that, but the break and reset were excellent. BTW - this is my third and the abbreviated spur hammer works! My first (FEG PJK-9HP ring hammer) bit the fire out of my hand. This one was great! Sadly it sold just after I got home. At least I got to shoot it before it went to pay for the new AC unit. All in all it was a fun day. I was also reminded how perishable shooting skills are. It's been about 4 months since I got to shoot last and I had lost nearly all the improvements I had made. Came back somehwhat quick, but it made me rather sad.
  3. All these threads on coyotes reminded me of a question I had. What's the deal with shooting a coydog? All though somewhat rare, I've seen my share. The thing with the ones I've seen, are that they are generally huge compared to a regular coyote and more wolf like than coyote or dog. Are they fair game? IMO they are more dangerous because they are completely wild but have less inhibition towards populated ares.
  4. That was pretty good on Mir's part. As far as the fight I can't say I was shocked but I would have liked to see it have gone the other way. Lesnar showed what an absolute jerk he is after the fight. Maybe he thinks he's still in the WWE or maybe roid rage was bubbling up.
  5. I've always liked the area. While I never lived there, I did work up there for a while. congrats and you will enjoy it.
  6. Looks good. as far as the shotty, just cut the barrel down to 18.5.
  7. I don't think you can diss someone with the same person.
  8. It was always amazing to watch how lance would destroy the other guys in the mountains. It would look like they were standing still while he would blow past. The best was 04? 05? when he looked back at Jan Ulrich and then took off like he had a motor in that bike!
  9. Just wondering if anyone has been keeping up with the TDF. Team Astana is awesome. With Lance only being out 8 sec it looks really good for him. In past Tours he was usually back a minute or so heading into the mountains and with Astana with him...... very interesting. BTW I've been keeping up with the Tour for nearly 12 years now. This is a really good one.
  10. Of course he did right the wrong on the perfected 1911..... the Hi-Power!
  11. What good would that do? It takes several years to start seeing results and if some are and some aren't, it would double the time it would take to see any results.
  12. I think he would argue that he was loosing everything he had (property) due to the issue at hand. It is a little in your face and antagonistic, but I can sorta see his point. The cops should have understood the time we live in and known that they are not going to win in a case like this. These days anything yo do is ok if you are using it to protest.
  13. Yeah I have no problem with that. I just think managed hunting is good overall and stats back that up, especially for building herds. I'm not passionate about it either way as I hunt for meat and not so much trophies. For most guys who hunt where they live, restrictions are probably more negative than positive. However, there are enough "yankee" lease guys who want to feel like a country boy for a week or two that can really hurt a population in a area. Not intentionally, but because they don't know the local herds they don't know what they are thinning.
  14. Dumb in that they will shoot anything with a nub and call it good. There has to be some mature bucks mating or the gene pool will be littered with weak genetics. If you have a bunch of juvi's running around doing the mating there may not be a herd the next season.
  15. Only because there are enough dumb hunters out there who don't know how to help herds grow.
  16. No there's a great legal mind at work. Under his interpretation anything that causes someone to complain is breaking the law.
  17. We used to see a few in Arkansas and I was told that they are curiosities and they want them around for people to see. I don't think it's much more to it than that.
  18. I've had a couple 19's and 3 XD9's and the 19's are easier to carry. The XD can be carried easily as well but it is heavier, thicker, and longer. The 19 is about the perfect size for a carry. Essentially a full size with just enough compactness to carry easily. The XD is a true "service" sized weapon and a very good one at that.
  19. I'm talking about the barb wire and tribal tattoos. If it means something thats ones thing but mostly what I see are some college age folk who get the same old thing because it looks "cool".
  20. +1. Also removing state restrictions would tremendously drop cost by opening up competition.
  21. Do you need help with your mortgage? Maybe your car insurance? How about your groceries. Health insurance is not a necessity or right anymore than anything else. Not going after you OS;), but the problems aren't that people need help, it's that the system is so regulated it squeezes blood from a turnip. That and all the illegals and abusers in the system. There's no easy fix but the only real fix would be for the government to get their grubby hands off it. They are running it into the ground and then saying they are gonna rescue it with more interference! Why not they been successful with the Post office, social security, the auto industry, and soon the banking industry!
  22. Tatoos are starting to get like jean jackets. They once were the sign of a cool rebellious youth doing his thing..... now if your wearing one your just a dork who still thinks the Fonz is cool amundo!
  23. I'd go with the XDm 9mm. i just like the round better than the .40. As far as knock down power... if it doesn't knock you down when you shoot it, it's not going to know the other guy down. I like the cost, efficiency, and sheer round count in the XDm.
  24. Sounds like a wise move. AK's will generally hold or go up in value while the FNP, as great as they are, will only go down.
  25. Buds has them at $439 shipped, which would be under $500 with TICS and transfer.... Update - Scratch that. It just went back up to $494 + TICS and FFL.
