  1. I'm glad I'm not you.
  2. Tons? a bit of an overstatement. Getting you hand around a single stack is an issue for a lot of folks. A double stack is near impossible. Not to mention carrying the thing.

    FN FNP 40SW yes no?

If they still made the SAO FNP-9 I would definitely have one. I sold the FNP9 I had becasue as good as the DA on it was I just couldn't get used to a DA/SA pistol.
  4. SSA is hardly "off-brand" It's the top of the line when it comes to 6.8 ammo. Remington's stuff is low end junk that is overpriced..... at least in 6.8.
  5. I'm really impressed with the Millet DMS-1 for exactly what you are talking about. It gives you a lot of the RD feel but can get you out to range pretty nicely.
  6. I'm really not so big on caliber as I am on capacity. Sure a .45 may make a bigger hole but if I miss once then I only have 6 or 7 left. With a 9, 40, 357 SIG I have at least 11 or 12 more attempts to get it right. Knowing that even the best accuracy of LE's is 20% I'm gonna safely say I'd probably be there or below, I need those extra try's.
  7. PLEASE don't start a caliber debate!:drama:We all know who thinks what is superior. I just though he made some good points on caliber choice. Particularly on the ineffectiveness of any handgun. Enjoy. Also, if you don't get his newsletter you should. It is a great read. You can sign up for it here http://visitor.constantcontact.com/manage/optin/ea?v=001LBos8BrBhyp86x1Ok20wcg%3D%3D

    The Plate

I'm not real good at counting but I'm thinking that's had more than two rounds hit it.
  9. I'm not getting the whole shower thing...... course if that was the least of this guys video/rap/singing/general speaking problems it wouldn't be so bad.
  10. His mother was also not 21 so he would not be a US citizen by birth unless he was actually born on US soil.
  11. It is a hair short and the article was a little deceiving on that statement about after market availability. To my knowledge there isn't one yet. I think they were saying that CZ has a reputation for making after market upgrade part available.
  12. Yeah, Don sent me one for free to test out. Worked great.
  13. Welcome back Glenn!
  14. I must say I was right on about some predictions about Obama! This doesn't happen often so I will gloat now before the crow arrives later. I love Obama because he is forcing the communist/socialist/liberal/fascist ideologues into the open. The steady slippery slope that so deceitfully hid the socialist Dems agenda for so many decades is now a precipice and folks are waking up. Will we jump willingly into the abyss or will we turn and come back to the original intent of our principles? I think the tide has turned! Obama's inexperience and narcissism have thrown open the back door to the American socialist mind and for one, I am thrilled. A great victory can not be won without a great battle and Obama has managed to draw the lines clearly and decidedly. No longer can they hide behind their veil of Washington DC politics. Of course I can't give all the credit to Obama. The Congress has done a pretty good job of assisting, but Obama has forced even these skilled politicians to act like 5th grade school boys at their first dance. This goes for both parties.
  15. I get 18-19 in the city and 20-22 on the Interstate in my 2005 V-6 Explorer. I'm saddened they don't make them anymore.
  16. Finally got to the range today to put some rounds through the new CZ P-07. I must say I had high hopes for the CZ as it seemed to be the perfect compact carry gun for me. An accurate, hammer fired, good SA (cocked and locked, baby!), polymer, G19 sized, reliable, quick resetting trigger, tough, carry gun. I must say I was not disappointed! Put 250 rounds through it without a hiccup! Used Blazer Brass 115g, Fed HST 115g +p, and Fed PBLE +P+. PROs: - Recoil was nearly non-existent - accuracy was excellent - sights were easy to pick up - trigger was very good. - reset was fairly short and very pronounced with a solid and audible "click" Cons: - while the trigger was very good reset was not quite as snappy as I would have liked. Of course this is in comparison to a G19 and M&P, but it is also not a striker fired gun. Compared to the 3 very good Hi-power triggers I have had, it was excellent! The trigger only got better as shooting increased and I imagine that will continue. The mags were also VERY stiff on the last round. They did loosen up as the time worn on and I suspect it will only get better. Bottom line? It was everything I was hoping it would be. A little less take up (in SA mode) and a little snappier reset would make it perfect for my preferences. I also used Don's guide rod he was kind enough for me to send me for free to test. It worked like a charm and had zero problems. The spring did rough up the rod a little, but nothing problematic. It looks good too! No problems some early owners have reported.
  17. refer to the post I made while you were posting this. It's not the length of barrel but the twist rate and more importantly the chamber. The 6.8 was designed to work in very short barrels and not a whole lot is gained in longer barrels as velocity is achieved rather quickly. It is a twist rate issue and mainly chamber issue. If you have a SAAMI or SPC I chamber you will have pressure issues. SPCII or the new DMR are good to go with any load. If you have an older chamber there is a guy on the 6.8 forums that will send you a SPCII reamer and you can ream your chamber to the proper dimensions.
  18. I might add that, other than the AP, the other ones that say LE/Military is not referring to a restriction but that they are "combat" loads. Combat loads are hotter than "standard" loads and aren't safe in some of the older/ faster twist barrels ie 1/9.5 and SAAMI & SPC I chambers.
  19. The only thing LE/Military restricted is their armor piercing stuff. Everything else is GTG.
  20. Wolf doesn't make 6.8 so problem solved. Go to Silver State Armory and buy it all there..... when it's available. They are THE 6.8 ammo people. Remington's stuff is expensive and not the best. S&B is similar to Remington. The only poeple making 6.8 are: Silver State Armory (SSA) Barret Hornady Remington S&B
  21. Northern Iraq is actually quite peaceful and has many American missionaries as well as other workers. I'm guessing they were probably missionaries working with local nomadic tribesmen when the Iranians captured them. Just a guess, but what I know of that area and the fact that there were 3 (typical traveling pattern of missionaries) that would be my guess. Not mentioning they are missionaries is probably to limit the wrath they might encounter at the hands of their captures. Again just a theory, but my Dad worked with a local group in Nashville called Classical School of the Medes. Classical School of the Medes - Index
  22. The M&P would be if it were G23 size. This is a highly personal preference question, but my pick would be the CZ P07 when it comes out in .40. SA cocked and locked in a polymer frame, G23 size, great ergo's, low bore axis, and capacity. Of course it isn't out yet .....so the Glock 23.
  23. Yeah, the advertising on that is not intended for the guys who hunt regularly. It is geared towards the recreational hunter who has money to burn and a lease he hasn't scouted. Those buggers are tough to get during hunting season. It's like they know the game and since they live it 24/7 they are better than you at it. I've seen way more deer in the truck coming and going hunting than I have ever seen in the woods. They're taunting me I tell you!

    Anyone ever use

He asked. I see the vacation did you well. You don't have call me out on something just cause I responded. I will continue to post my objections when new guys ask just like you guys will post the reason you insist on using it. I though that was the point of a forum. Not a big deal. Seriously what fun would it be if new folks didn't start threads about the "Form", Glocks vs. XD, or 9mm vs. 45. (9 is king BTW).
