They just released the Saiga in 5.45, so I have a hard time seeing them going away. Also, Arsenal is using Saiga's as the base for their AK's now. With Arsenal pushing the line I think the civi market will last....... I hope.

Folks tend to swear by what they know. As you said most issued and trained on Glocks tend to favor .......... You new guys need to go back and read the late Mars views on the gun at hand and learn something. He was way more experienced and qualified than almost anyone here, combined. Glocks are the darlings of PD's for cost reasons, period. Everything after that is debatable. The Glock is a fine weapon but no more so than many others. They weren't the first and they won't be the last.
