  1. +1. If I'm not mistaken the black finish is better becasue it has the Melonite treatment to the slide underneath. Same bombproof finish as the Glock, M&P, and others. The 2-tone doesn't have the Melonite under the plating IIRC. They are both fine and if you ever have a problem they have a lifetime warranty. I've had 3 XD9's and they were all fantastic guns. Go with the used one listed in the classifieds. It will save you a lot of depreciation money if and when you want to try something else.
  2. Apples and bananas. I'm pretty sure the the uniforms, teams with sub-machine guns, movements, and announcing "POLICE! OPEN UP" already ruins the surprise. Why are the undercover guys and detectives usually concealed? It's like poker. Once you've shown 'em you're out of the game. However, if no one knows what you got you have a lot more moves.

  4. I actually like those Tapco forearms. They finally got something right.
  5. I also have to wonder about recoil/controllability. It places your hand in the middle of the gun with the balance point directly on top of your grip hand. It would seem to create more muzzle jump than a normal gun pushing into your hand.
  6. I was going the tinfoil route to say that ACORN may have done it themselves. It is a common socialist/commie tactic to act like the othersides extreme to distract attention gain the adversary negative attention.
  7. Me thinks you need to watch THIS thread a little more first. Target is under 1k.
  8. The difference in comparison is that side arms aren't and "never" will be wide spread. The other problem is that side arms carry a completely different weight of responsibility than any other commonly seen carry item. While I understand where you are going, I think it misses the point. Guns are not the way to encourage civic responsibility. It is just one of the many issues contained within the larger concept of civic/personal responsibility. It may actually do more of a disservice than service for a period of time.
  9. I believe that the whole thing is screwed up and news outlets wonder why they are going bankrupt.
  10. Probably his intention. Create a one off concept, generate interest, drive up it's market value, and then sell the design and let the big guys spend the big bucks to develop and distribute.
  11. Is this what we've come to? Che would be proud.:tinfoil:
  12. Maybe it was because THEY were dropped.:tinfoil::tinfoil:
  13. The big difference is that this one has a 4.2" barrel.
  14. It would cost you a heck of a lot more than $190 per year.
  15. What is it about facts that these people not get? 80% support the "public option", last I heard it was 100% that's why it is being so successful. Kinda like the Dubai port deal and Harriet Myers.
  16. I like the camera idea. Next time try some tracers! That would be too cool!
  17. Get a .270. Best all round game gun you can get. Plus you can load it from varmint stuff all the way to elk. Can't beat that. Other than that I would say a 30-06. It's what the .308 wants to be.
  18. While I think she would be great, I think she is too smart to step into the political nightmare of POTUS.
  19. They just released the Saiga in 5.45, so I have a hard time seeing them going away. Also, Arsenal is using Saiga's as the base for their AK's now. With Arsenal pushing the line I think the civi market will last....... I hope.
  20. for 150-200 yrds you really don't need a lot of magnification. I had a Millet DMS-1 on the AR (I never shot) and I really liked it. They run around $200 and you can get top of the line Larue mount for under $200. http://swfa.com/Millett-1-4x24-DMS-Tactical-30mm-Riflescope-P9251.aspx
  21. Yeah, the new Saiga 5.45 is now on the shores. I'm told Centerfiresystems has them and is about to list them. Arsenal is selling Saiga/'74's that are very nice.
