I think they've already made that decision. That would be the reason for their sudden availability and the price drop from $800+ to around $500.
  2. Eh, nevermind. I'm an idiot who can't read. However, here is a good one at a great price http://www.centerfiresystems.com/bulgarianak-74545x39riflepartakagun-bul.aspx
  3. If you need some class to tell you not to do the things they did, I don't think it would help much. Warning labels are for these guys.
  4. With prices as low as they are right now, buy one from K-var and be done with it. It will cost you less and get you more.
  5. I was thinking they were importing the Saiga conversions, either way the link I posted is the right one.
  6. Right now the best 74 is from Arsenal. Prices have come WAY down and it is a true Russian AK. BTW this is the first time Russian '74's have been available http://www.k-var.com/shop/product.php?productid=17055&cat=356&page=1
  7. Kinda like when I see a 20 something zip into a handicap spot and ghetto walk into the store. One of my pet peeves for sure

Yeah, I've seen those weight listed and I think they may be wrong. The p07 may weigh that much with a mag. Either way they are both great weapons. I was just throuwing out an option. Hey, SavageSig you have both? Can you tell a difference?
  9. I stand corrected. Missed the 4 day thing. However, they can't serve food only 4 days and alcohol can they? They would cease to be a restaurant and a become a bar.
  10. Still a restraunt and if not posted why go somewhere else?

If you need a better grip you might try the P07. It is very slim, think Hi-Power, but also short like a G19. I like mine a lot better than the G19's I've had. i also think it is slimmer than the Rami and considerably lighter overall.
  12. Not arguing against it. Just saying legal is different than a companies policies. Companies have policies all the time that are not necessarily legal. Some of this is due to differences in state laws. If the parent company is righting policy in California you can beat there will be conflicts in Tennessee. Unless you have the resources to legal fight the policy it's probably a better avenue to fight for policy change through the legislature. On the other hand I am all for a companies right to do what they want (within the law). You don't have to work there and they shouldn't have to keep you or hire you if they don't want. I think there are too many work laws as there are. Some are good but most just cost the employees and customers too much. It used to be a privilege to work and people took pride in what they did. Now all a lot of them seem to do is moan and groan about what they don't have while doing a half ass job as it is.
  13. Very nice. It appears K&D did not close. Their website is back active. Kevin does nice work.
  14. HR literature is not law and by law they have to post. Now if there are contracts involved it becomes a whole other issue as well.
  15. Maybe an hour. Most of that was being careful to not grind too much etc. If I were to do it again, which I will as soon as $ is more available, i think I could get the basic conversion done in 30 minutes or less.
  16. Saw that one too. the good thing about Kel-Tec is that if it isn't right the will make it so. Very good customer service.

Excellent guns. They are not AK's as the internal are all different and not interchangeable. The lower is milled and it has fewer parts than the AK. An excellent updated AK if you will. They started at $800+ but they have since come way down. Darkstar has one and he really like it. I will be getting one as soon as the list of "gotta haves" gets whittled down.
  18. Good stuff. I have it in PDF if anyone wants a copy. Just PM me.
  19. I'll take it back for evaluation...... Might take a few years.
  20. Not really. I've done two. Did it all with a Dremel. The first one was a 7.62x39 and it was harder cause the DIY isn't available for it. The 12 is very simple with the DIY. Once the old trigger guard is removed there is no cutting, welding, or fitting. Very simple.
  21. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=40886 Explains it all with pictures. Nah, you don't need help. It is really easy. I would go here Tromix Do-It-Yourself Saiga 12 Trigger Guard - $45.00 : Mississippi Auto Arms, Inc ::, Your Source for Saiga, AK47, AR15, Tromix, Glock, and SKS firearms and accessories and get the DIY trigger guard deal and a trigger group. Then all you do is drill out/cut the rivets off the old one stick the new stuff on and your done. Here's some links and you can search for more. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/search.php?searchid=839181 http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/long-guns/20616-saiga-conversion.html
  22. there is a "light" review in the current Rifleman issue and they gave it good remarks. IIRC the negatives I saw from the Hero Gear shoot a while back was a heavish trigger. Typical of bullpup designs.
  23. Again I highly recommend going to Walkers Lumber and Hardware. They been around forever and are a top notch contractor supply company. They know all of the contractors in the area and if they say they are good then they are solid. BTW it is owned by Bob Harwell. If that last name rings some bells.
  24. IN that case what will cost a lot of money is making a lot of changes. If you can lock into your design and materials early on you can save a bunch. Walker Lumber and Hardware here in Nashville can also help save you a lot of money and get you a lot better products. DO NOT use Home Depot or Lowes!
  25. Codes is what will cost both time and money. They DO NOT like home owners doing it themselves. If you have a contractor or architect who can help navigate you through that issue it's not all that hard and can save you money. Codes is like the IRS, no matter how well you obey what's written there is always something they can get you on. I've been working on a little 300 sq. ft addition and this has cost me an additional $2000 ($5000 budget) and 2 months. Nothing we did wrong just the process.
