  1. Here's th first link from a search. MITCHELL DOUBLE ACTION Looks to be a Sig 226 clone/copy. Zastava made it in Yugoslavia as the CZ99 until Tressitu in South Africa made them called the TZ99. Evidently only a few of them were made before Tressitu folded. Fromt he few reviews I have seen they are very nice guns. The Zastava ones are not as good from reports.
  2. Try one of these. They have a lifetime warranty and are getting great reviews. Here is the cheapest place to get them. 7247K-KONUS RED DOT SIGHT PRO ATOMIC

    RUGER MINI-30

Don't know how good the info is, but this is the only thread going while I'm waiting for my shift to end!

It depends on the build but generally speaking the K-Var guns are top notch. The Bulgy's are generally the best of the mid/low end. WASR's are fine if they are built right but are lower end. Russians are generally considered to be the best. Mainly becasue they are made on the original machinery by folks who have been doing it the longest. There are good things to be said about some of the Madi (Egyption), Radom/Polish, Mak90/Polytech versions but finding those are rare. Yugo's are really good but don't have chrome lined barrels. AMD's are Hungarian and solid but have odd furniture and a few unique quirks. It sounds more complicated than it is. The thing to remember about AK's is that the one put together by the 10 year old in Africa is nearly identical to the one put together in Russia. It's not like an AR where machining, material, and precision make a big difference. IF something is croked or messed up with an AK you generally can make it right with a mallet. If you get a well built AK it really won't matter if it is a Russian, Bulgy, Yugo, WASR, Hungarian, ect. Go to the AKforum and you can get a better idea of what's out there.

    RUGER MINI-30

I've not heard great things about them even though it is a popular rifle. Me personally I'd get an AK especially since prices are WAY down. It will get you the best out of the x39 round, accessories and parts are widely available, and it is a heck of a lot cheaper than the Ruger. Plus it's as "evil" as they come! K-Var is selling great AK's at unheard of prices ATM. Bulgarian AKSSR-85 #AKAGUN-SSR also has some bulgy's at really good prices.
  6. How do you like the Tech Sights? I've been waiting for the review on the Akforum, but haven't heard much lately. I know the first batch had some issues with the top cover. How does yours work? Pictures maybe?

BTW - the .40 should be out shortly.

Haha! True. I was just thinking in the 1911/Hipower/75 classic.

It looks different in person. For some reason the P07 photographs poorly. However, it has more classic lines than a Glock.
  10. I've got an old 1923 Sears and Roebuck order book that my great grandfather used in his little store in Boswell, AR. It's about 5 in. thick and has a great section on firearms.
  11. David I had no idea. I knew you lost the one child, but not another one. I am very sorry for your loss. I guess one thing to remember about the the Holidays is that it can be a very difficult time for a lot of people. We have several on this board who have lost children, wives, husbands, fathers, mothers, and others recently. Maybe we should make sure we think about these folks before we get too caught up in celebs or our own enjoyment of the season. I'll be praying for those who will hurt this season.
  12. This should cover all the bases! awesome pics of just about every load I would want to try. Shotgunworld.com • View topic - 12 gauge Wound Profiles (56k beware) Examples on page 3
  13. Kinda like someone who judges people shallow and narrow minded because they disagree with them? At least he had the conviction to state his belief, why he believes it, and the logic of how he arrived at it. I always love these pointless off topic attempts to put people in their place because they make a judgement call by ........ making judgement calls. Ironic isn't it? Just sayin. He believes what he believes, you don't. If your so convinced your right why get so bent out of shape? Right is right, wrong is wrong. Either you are or you aren't and it isn't going to matter what someone else says or believes if you are right. Not being mean just trying to save you some emotional turmoil.

Meprolight makes them now and I'm told some of the 75's will work. High Noon is also making holsters now for the P07 and you can find holsters for the XD that fit the P07. I'll also add that this is a utilitarian gun done right. It's no supped up 1911 nor is it a rough Kel-tec type. It is well made and everything works for a darn good price. Well below what it should run.

Well, I have one and love it.It is my everyday carry gun. You can search for the post I've made regarding it, but basically it is the perfect carry gun for me. Glock 19 size, great ergos, accurate, great trigger, hammer fired (re-strike capable), 16+1, can either carry C&L or use the decocker (i got it to carry C&L SA). Only negatives are holster availability and the sights are cheap. .
  16. It's balance. You can't legalize something dangerous unless people/society will police themselves and I don't believe we have a society that can police themselves at this point. America worked best when the people controlled and monitored themselves. There is no utopia either way, but until we return to a place where personal responsibility is preeminent, liberty can not be loosed. Of course personal responsibility will struggle to return the more we don't force people to be responsible. Simple theory. Hard in practice. Kind of a chicken and egg thing. Bottom line is that we shouldn't have to tell people not to be stupid, but unfortunately we do. On the other side I truly believe that if we controlled immigration these would be non issues or at least minor issues like they were previously. Of course as pointed out there is too much political capital involved to do that.
  17. Haha! Me too. Started at 1600 and get off at 0700 then get to come back at 1500! Fun stuff. I was responding to the comment that 00 buck was irresponsibly dangerous while at the same time we use 9mm, .45, ect. with out much thought. My point was that 00 has less collateral potential than handgun rounds and that even birdshot will penetrate multiple walls. To get something that wouldn't penetrate walls wouldn't penetrate clothing or even tissue. Think BB gun.
  18. Agree. Legalize one thing they will find another. Don't forget it was foreign enemies of the US that used drugs as a way to break down America from within. Take that away and they will find something new. Legalizing will just add another wrinkle and ironically give the government one more control over society. It's always interesting to me Libertarians want to legalize drugs and minimize government. Don't they realize they would be putting a huge money maker that has people highly addicted to substances only the government controls. How does that make sense. Anyway immigration control is the biggest way to stop these gangs. Almost all of the major gangs are immigrant groups trafficking between the US and their mother countries. Take that element out and the local gangs will be manageable like they were back in the day.If you recall the war on drugs and the immigration go hand in hand.

    New Shotty!

They're running $219 with a $10 off store discount. I had a $100 gift card so it wasn't bad at all.
  20. Me thinks you missed the context.
  21. That would be a "nice" change from what has seemed to be the norm lately. Still really sad to be so young.

    SNIPER?

They're about to show the 1.5 mile shot. To bad the sniper was Canadian! However, the Rufus .50 round that took out 3 insurgents behind a cinder block wall at 1 mile is darn impressive! Nice shot Reichert!

    SNIPER?

There about to show Mewinehy'e 16 shot 16 kills! That's some nerve right there.
