  2. We know. The same place Al Gore and Clinton got theirs...... China.
  3. Yeah I went from 209 in shape pounds ready for the police academy to 235 after my motorcycle wreck a year ago! This will help me. Mine is mostly mental and carbs. Working nights has been tough on eating consistently and correctly. I find myself eating heavy for convenience and the quick energy bump. Anyone work a night schedule have any suggestions?
  4. The only person that will know is you. Don't sweat it. BTW the only thing I would use from Tapco is their trigger kit and their retainer plate. Stay away from furniture, mags, and other parts. The piston is a non issue. They have been running for years in harsher environments than you could ever bee in here.
  5. I was pretty neutral, but I think the Vikings would have given the Colts a better run for their money. If NO plays the way they did Sunday, the Colts will roll all over them. Two of the Vikings turnovers led directly to points. The Harvey fumble gave NO the tying touchdown and the other fumble kept Minn from scoring earlier. I like the Saints but the Viking gave them that one. They (NO) couldn't move the ball, other than two big plays, and they let the the Vikings have their way on offense and defense. The only thing that stooped the Vikings was their jello hands. The Super Bowl could indeed be anti-climatic.
  6. Even if the guy had permission unless it is worded in your purchase it does not transfer. If he had a "contract" then he needs to take it up with the previous owner. I personally wouldn't want people hunting on my land without telling me when they were coming first. I wouldn't want to get shot by someone I didn't know was in a tree. Be careful.
  7. You'll hear a lot of legal beagles talk and warn about 922r, but it is a non issue. There has never been anyone charged with 922r, because there is no way to enforce or know the country of origin of parts. The BATF even admits that 922r is unenforcible. It is mainly to add enforcement on importation issues rather than individual compliance. That being said, it is fairly easy to be 922r compliant and generally helps functionality to have the better US parts.
  8. My above statement is from magpul. They have tried and can't make it work..... yet.
  9. I'm fickle and get the urge for something new. Mostly I just prefer fullsize guns for carry. I got both of the ones I had at various times when I thought about carrying a BUG. I just figured one full size is better than two small cap guns. They are great for what they are. It's just not my cup of tea.
  10. If you want something really private, classy, and not your average chain food joint try my brothers restaurant downtown. They've won numerous awards and prices aren't too bad. You will have to make reservations though. The Standard at the Smith House
  11. Yes. The manual and KT wil tell you that it will handle a moderate amount of +p. In other words enough range +p to know they work but not an every range visit load. I've had two and liked both of them. They are defnitley not range guns. It is comfortable enough for a few mags, but your wrist and hands will know you shot it. The trigger pull is long and the reset is long but it works, is a great concealment size, has good capacity for it's size, and customer service is next to none. I like them and recommend them.
  12. MAybe I'm naive, but more than one person has done that? Made duplicate accounts just to converse with themselves?
  13. You keep saying we have over simplified free economy with supply and demand and then say it is a simple as price fixing by the producers. You can't argue both sides. IT is as simple as supply and demand and taxes create an artificial demand that affects price. What happens is that when the marketable margin + tax reaches a point where it is not worth the effort to produce said widgets they quite making them. It is still supply and demand with a government controlled third factor. That is the problem with corporate tax. The government is getting it on both ends. They tax the consumer directly (sales), then add on the corporate taxes (built into the product), and then artificially drive up all three prices by a false demand factor. That's why the American people pay half or more of their income to in "taxes" and never bat an eye. Very clever on the part of the government. However this has little to do with the OP. BTW if anyone has an IRA or invest in the market at all - YOU are the corporations. Don't like your companies political stance? Sell them off and fight them that way.
  14. well your not going to find it on Snope's because it is and editorial style opinion piece not a journalistic fact story. Needless to say, it is right on.

    Microtech STG?

Here's another thought I had. If I can get the STG (non E4) for 982 delivered, I can always get an E4 stock for under $300 (according to MT) when they are available and If I think it is of benefit down the road. That way I still come in under $1300.
  16. I'm thinking it would be pretty labor intensive to verify that. Although I agree there are probably some that do that.
  17. Due to the slightly larger case of the 6.8 an aluminum or poly 5.56 mag body will bulge and deform the lips. The 6.8 mags are all stainless to prevent it. You can fit about 10 or so 6.8 rounds in a 5.56 mag, but will have feed issues and ruin your mag eventually.

    Microtech STG?

rat works has the E4 and Buds has the best deals on the basic STG. The rat works STG comes with 5 mags for $1082.
  19. These came out a long time ago and were widely criticized on many fronts. Everyone I asked that had one had either sold it or gave it away.
  20. Your both saying the same thing from different ends. Yes their tax burden is passed on to us through pricing. so in essence it is not a tax on corporations/business but rather a backdoor way of taxing the American people. They know this. Also I think one needs to clarify corporation before this argument can make sense. There are millions of 10 and fewer employee corporations, ala LLC.
  21. Here is the best price. http://swfa.com/images/sfrdar15.jpg
  22. The Strikefire gets excellent reviews and has a lifetime no questions asked warranty. Great for everything short of the sandbox, but that's a whole nother world anyway. http://swfa.com/Vortex-StrikeFire-Red-Dot-Sights-C1462.aspx The Konus Pro Atomic (Aimpoint micro clone) also gets excellent reviews and you can get it under $100 from here. 7247K-KONUS RED DOT SIGHT PRO ATOMIC

    Microtech STG?

So, all this bullpup talking has brought back the old idea I had of wanting one of these. The fact they have come WAY down in price actually makes it feasible. So, question is..... what are the benefits of spending the extra $300 to get the E4 model (takes AR mags) as opposed to the cheaper STG model? The Steyr/STG mags aren't all that expensive to begin with. Also a consideration is that I definitely want to get the 6.8 conversion when available and price comes down. I' thinking that in that case the E4 might be worth it. Also I am not a mag horder, 5-6 work for me. Give me your thoughts.
  24. Come on this is good. If this was the end of politics then Standard Oil (Rockerfeller) and Andrew Carnegie's families would be Kings by now. There was a time when corporate America ran the country it is not that way anymore. While I have lost much faith in the American people, they eventually wake up when pushed far enough. Besides this is not new or ingenious. The lib corps have been funneling money through back channels anyway, PACs ect. McCain/Feingold was mostly a way to limit the NRA anyway. Why not bring it out where we can actually see what's happening instead of letting them do it behind closed doors and then speculating.
  25. If i'm standing next to a guy in Iraq fresh out of boot I'm not so sure I want him thinking about what he feels like doing.
