  1. You can't go wrong with Springer. Had him do a trigger job back before the DIY parts were available and it was fantastic. You might want to consider the Powder River DIY sear kit. A lot cheaper and it is super easy. Plus you can always revert it back if you want. Nearly as good as the Springer job. Also pick up one of their over travel stops. 2. Those burl grips are beautiful! Very nice and tasteful collection.

    Microtech STG?

20! Want to sell a few? Called Ratworx and they have black 30's and amber 10's priced at $15.
  4. Try the Maxpedition line. I use a Jumbo pack a lot of the time and it would be perfect for what you are talking about. Has a dedicated easy to reach pistol compartment with a holster integrated and the all important water bottle holder. Designed to hold the 32 oz Nalgene bottle. Would be perfect. Search Maxpedition or "man purse" here and you will find pictures and more reviews. UTG also makes a copy of the Jumbo for $30. Strikj has one and did a review of it. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/show-tell/19968-my-murse.html JUMBO VERSIPACK Concealed Carry Sling Bag - MAXPEDITION HARD-USE GEAR Tactical Nylon Gear for Military, Law Enforcement, Tactical Concealed Carry; Tailored to Perform Tactical

    Microtech STG?

Yeah I was happy to find it. Now if I can find someone with mags!
  6. Just remember that a most PD operate on a budget:D and buy supplies accordingly. Ammo choice is not always high on the scrutiny list for effectiveness. Doesn't mean it's bad just that it may not be the best. BTW Some carry PD ammo as a legal claim if the need ever arose.
  7. Talk about opening the proverbial can of worms! In short the 9mm is a velocity dependent round when it is a HP. The author is talking about the fact that 147g is too heavey to reach the velocities needed for proper expansion. Unlike some other calibers where bigger is better the 9mm is not necessarily in that category. The .40 for instance works just fine in the heavier grains, .45 as well. BTW FMJ is a different story because expansion is not an issue. In that case you want the heavier load. Here is an excerpt form Mr Hawks site talking about it. This is why I like a 124g HST +p load. A little extra weight while maintaining the proper velocity.

    Microtech STG?

Just an update, went with a 20" STG in black today from CDNN. Tried Ratworks but they are out of everything and Buds only has 16" OD green! I really like that RW came with the 5 mags. Oh, well at least I got it in black and a 20" barrel. Hopefully I can pick it up Monday! Now to pick out a decent optic.
  9. I know of Bill Haslam personally, my sister was their live in "nanny" when she was in college. They were very nice and helped her get through tough college years and have always been friends. That being said i have been very dissapointed in his track record of late and doesn't seem consistent with what I thought of him before he started getting into the political arena. Sad what politics does/is allowed to do to a person.
  10. It was a made for TV movie (History Channel?) but it was very good if you like realistic history type stuff.
  11. I think his best movie was Attila. Very good movie.
  12. Great thread revive Batman! Just watched this movie and it was awesome. Somewhatt unrealistic and had some plot/character holes but overall very good! The questions it raised were excellent and i found myself not being able to call the main characters good guys or bad guys. There were times i was rooting for both and despising both. Not your average lollipop social movie, but not overly cynical either. Great action, great story, movie believable, and the acting was very good.
  13. The 5.45 is significantly different than the 7.62x39 thus the OP was in regards to a '47 as opposed to the '74. That being said I think you make a good point about the shooter as opposed to the gun. In all fairness the AR holds accuracy enhancements that the AK does not. It is also those same "enhancements" that make the AR less reliable and dependable than the AK. It's all trade offs, but it as it usually does it comes down to the shooter and skill within the given platform. A great AR guy will out shoot a great AK guy all things being equal and I LOVE the AK!
  14. I should've added both my P99's were the QA model. They are similar trigger pulls to the G19 and M&P. The AS is sort of a DA/SA. A lot of folk like it I just wasn't one of them.
  15. Sierra Club lifetime member. Enough said.
  16. The P99 is a fantastic gun. I've had two and both were excellent. Ergos can't be beat and it is very slim. They do have a heavier trigger pull out of the box, but nothing a few easy spring changes can't fix. Plus it is James Bonds gun! I've also had an M&P and it too is an excellent choice. It would be my first choice except for the fact that it is a bit larger than the P99 and G19. the G19 is the cheapest and most utilitarian of the 3 and also and excellent choice. Of the three I was by far the most accurate with the P99 followed by the M&P and then the G19. If you don't mind the price tag, snatch up the P99 and enjoy German engineering at it's best.

Yeah, it's a shrunk down FNP-45 and it retains the USG SA/DA capabilities.

    FNP9 for SR9c

I too would stay with the FNP. Trigger is much better and it is a better quality piece. The SR9 is a nice but it's just not an FN.
  19. I had one for my FNP and my take was that it was a little bulky and the attachment point made it fit awkward. It just never worked for me. However, others have used it and really like it.

    FNX-9

I never had any problems with it or heard of problems. It just seemed weak and didn't fit the overall perception of the quality of the pistol IMO.
  21. Haha, somehow I missed that the first time! Very funny.

    First Gun

Nice first one. The good thing about those is if the money runs out you can usually get most of what you have in it out of it.
  23. Glad everyone stayed safe. The sad part is Haiti now doesn't look a whole lot different than Haiti then. The good thing about the quake is that what was once a silent problem has now been brought to the forefront of out minds. Lots of work left to do.
  24. Saiga x39 (I like building these things) and a MSAR STG. It's nice not owing anyone!
