  1. Funny thing is it has been re-listed 3 times and no bids on any of them!
  2. Might try searching. This is one of the proverbial dead horses.
  3. LOL!!!
  4. So..... you are making a big deal about what you consider not to be a big deal! Just poking the bear! Back to the OP. Sometimes the right thing and the legal thing aren't always the same thing. You did right.
  5. Funny thing is, when kids were spanked schools were orderly, there were very few cases of violence, there were no police on school grounds, there were no mass murders at school, teen pregnancy still shocking, kids grew up in families and became productive adults .............................. Sure there are other cultural elements at work but they are all linked. Discipline works. Free range development is for skinny chickens.
  6. After watching "Star Trek: First Contact" the other night, I see this. Very cool!
  7. That's the way to draw a line in the sand.
  8. Got that, but in the OP he said he left her thus leaving the gun with her. I read it as he left her stranded while he went for gas. In the follow up he said he got the gas THEN met her and then followed her to the station to fill up. Thus there would have been no need to leave her with a gun and no permit since he was with her till she was out of the danger zone. Unless I missed something. If I read it right the first time i agree he did the right thing. If the second scenario is correct she was in no more danger before or after. Then again maybe I'm making something simple overly complicated. He did the right thing....maybe?
  9. I'm missing something. You were with her the whole time? If so then there is no need for the hypothetical. BTW - Mine were questions for clarification not answers.
  10. Question?: What "mental health" of the client makes it impossible to stay long enough to make sure she gets off OK, when you took the time to get all the other stuff? Also why would she be in a neighborhood that necessitates firearm protection and not have protection in the first place?
  11. reminds me of the proverb: "be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove". Like my wife always tells me it how you say it not necessarily what you say. I answered a lot of objections to stuff with a disarming smile and aphrase while expressing the truth at the same time. Sometimes though I 'm reminded of another proverb: "a fools lips invites a beating":D and "Silence is golden"
  12. I've heard nothing but good things about Konus CS and lifetime warranty. that website is just a reseller, not the company.
  13. You can only go Down from .40 to 9mm or .357 sig. You can't go from 9mm up. Reason is the hole in the slide where the barrel comes out is not wide enough and most .40 slides are a little heavier for the extra pressure.

    My S&W M&P 9c

I'm on my second FS M&P9 and I really like them. My new one has a very gritty trigger that will soon get the Apex upgrades. My first one had a very good trigger OTB. Enjoy!
  15. No. Mine has a 20" barrel, but the 16" version is shorter than an M4 that requires a NFA stamp. Just pointing out that NFA makes about as much sense as the tax code.
  16. Nice choice. It's what i carry. Make sure you send in the rebate and get your two free mags or $50!

    Cheap ACR

That would appear to be the same one!
  18. effectiveness is equal to just about anything out there short of 10 mm./44mag. according to every study ever done, if not better in some cases. You also don't have to deal with excessive noise, flame, or recoil like in other cartridges such as .40, .357 SIG, .45 ect. Not to mention less stress on the gun, lighter gun, more rounds, less reloading, more practice, cheaper,.............. There are those that just will continue to believe larger calibers are better cause its makes sense to them and that what near 100 yrd old ball ammo data said. That's fine. Just remember there were also those that believed the earth was flat because it just made sense too them as well.
  19. +1 on all bkelm18's post. Go with the G19. Best of all Glock worlds.

    The Obamapad

Very funny and very creative. I guess it wasn't government sponsored.
  21. I'd say great........ till you had to do a tac reload! I really like lever guns.
  22. Not much for a carbine class.
  23. Just picked up one up a new Vortex SPARC for my MSAR and I gotta say, it is nice! In the box comes the optic, x2 doubler, 2 mounts (low and high), 2 mount shims, lens covers, extra battery, cleaning cloth, and all the papers. Construction seems very solid and I really like the no questions asked lifetime warranty. The high mount co-witness's on an AR and if you add the shim it will lower 1/3 witness. The low mounts are mainly for shotguns ect. I used the high mount without any shim for my MSAR. The dot itself gets very bright and although I haven't got it to the range yet I really like it. Battery life is supposed to be 120 hrs on high and up to 8000 hrs on normal (mid) setting. It is NV compatible and has an auto shutoff after 6 hrs. Some don't like the buttons on the Strikefires/SPARC but presently I do. Very easy and intuitive to work. Probably not what I'd want in war time, but then again maybe I would. My MSAR barrel is getting threaded ATM so pics and range report coming next week.
  24. Get the Bulgy AK-74 from Bulgarian AK-74 Rifle - 5.45x39 - With 3 Mags #AKAGUN74. Thing is $369 shipped right now! You can't go wrong and it is about the cheapest to own and operate for a person (presumably since it is your wife) who isn't going to obsess over the latest fads. Do check on the ammo. As others have stated a lot of it is corrosive. Also if she drops it or bangs it up, you won't cry over it.
