  1. refer to the post I made that you quoted and to the post I replied to where I made those statements ie context. In case your seach fu is weak. Guy was talking about using LTL rounds. That is a very dangerous mentality. BTW What are guns designed to do? If you want something LTL you DO NOT need to be carrying a gun. A good baton, or knife, but not a gun. I don't believe I said I intend to kill. If I did i meant that if I pull my gun that will be the likely outcome. I do not intend to try and preserve his life or "wound" him. That is a dangerous mentality. From both a personal standpoint as well as a safety standpoint. This isn't that hard or complicated.
  2. All you have to do is put in an anonymous cal to codes. They will be out in a heart beat and she will have all the legal ammo she needs. They WILL find something.
  3. I think you are referring to a post I made in another thread, but you took it out of context. What I was saying is that if you don't plan on killing a person when you fire your gun you will be the one that ends up dead. You can not go into a shooting situation with a mentality of trying to "wing" or "shoot the gun out of his hand" stuff. Guns are serious business that have serious consequences. If you pull it you better understand that more than likely what ever is on the receiving end will be dead. The intent is never to kill, but rather to preserve life. That being an innocent victims. The bad guy has made the decision to be on the opposite end and what ever befalls him is the consequence of his choice, not mine. If I were Rambo I could shoot the guns out of peoples hands from 100 yards away on a quick draw from the hip. However, the reality is that i will be shooting center mass until the threat is done. Several holes in the chest usually means death. If he live great if he dies too bad. I'm not thinking about him.
  4. I can tell you from just building an addition and dealing with metro the hardest thing we had problems with was venting. They were very picky about vents. It all depends on the set up but the vent has to be at the end of the line just after the p-trap. Like I said it varies depending on setup but it sounds like not enough slope and bad venting. There may not be p-traps on everything either. The whole purpose of P-traps is to create a clean water "plug" between the sewer fumes and the fixture. Without that the smells will come right into the house. Even a backed up drain won't smell too bad if the p-traps and venting are correct.
  5. The proper terminology should be "to neutralize the threat." That is how my HCP instructor told us to answer. I think it is a good phrase. MY intent is not necessarily to kill but rather to neutralize the threat. If he runs off after the first shot - neutralized. If he dies - neutralized. I never intend to kill someone, but I understand that if I ever shoot that is more than likely the end result.
  6. Wrong mentality. Guns are designed to kill. Maiming or "winging" someone is for the movies where they can say cut or the bad guys explode from a .22 shot in the arm. If and when you shoot, you shoot to kill. If you are thinking otherwise you will be the dead one.
  7. Isn't that kinda the point of a "trench tool"?
  8. Very Nice. I love the 6.8! Just wish they get the caliber conversion for my MSAR STG out!
  9. 9mm in HST 124 +p (my favorite), Winchester PDX-1, TAP 124 +p, or Winchester Ranger-T 124g +p. Depends on what's available and at a good price.
  10. That's a positive, hopeful outlook!
  11. Gmail. I also use Operamail.

    Number 4!

Just had our 4th child Sunday morning @ 1027! Little girl weighing 8.13 lbs. couldn't help but remember what the important things in life are and why I do what I do. It also reminded me why I carry. One - it is my responsibility to provide/protect for my family. As the Bible states "he who does not provide for his family is worse than the infidel." I take that to mean with love, support, finances, instruction, correction, and ...... protection. Two - My wife and kids need me around to provide number one. Not killed by some no good who would take their future. Never loose sight of priorities. God Wife Kids Guns!
  16. I should add that just like too many church members, most politicians don't have a clue what they really believe or why they believe what they say they believe. It is too easy to get caught up pin the process and forget the product. This is what the Tea party movement is about. It is NOT about politics but rather getting back to those ideologies which should shape their politics.
  17. Socialism is a philosophy of societal relationships. Think Utopian philosophy, communal living, hippie movement etc. Communism is the resulting governmental form of socialism. Marxism is a philosophy that bridges the gap between socialistic philosophy and the resulting Communist government. A vehicle if you will between the two. National socialism, Nazi, Fascism, etc are all different governmental forms of socialism using varying degrees of control. Republicans are farm from being Nationalist socialist. While I understand why it is emotionally easy to throw them all into the socialist pot, it just isn't reality. The base ideology between the two are diametrically opposed. Socialism, capitalism, republican, democrat, etc are all symptoms of one of two philosophical/theological ideas that have existed since time began. One believes that man is god and answers only to himself. Thus he is the arbitrator of right and wrong and can impose his will on the "unenlightened". The other believes there is a superior truth outside of himself that dictates morality of life and that he is subject to it's governance. Thus making him and all men accountable to a set base morality in which he can not nor should not change, ie "rights". Just a thought.
  18. Saiga's are probably the easiest to avoid the 922r issue. just to a basic conversion and unless you try to use non compliant parts your done.
  19. Truth be known there is no way, outside of a stamp, yo know where something was made. Point being 922r is unenforceable. don't sweat it.
  20. No he'll keep those as primary residences so he won't have to pay CA taxes. For the money that's just under 1 million a bathroom.
  21. No. Only thing close is a 3-9. All their others are fixed power and for a whole different application than the OP asked for.
  22. The older models, that are no longer around, had a few issues. All those have been corrected. If you want the same thing from the same factory without the Millet name on it, Primary arms has them for $100 less. I've had two Millets DMS-1 and really liked them. Wish I had known about these. Primary Arms 1-4X 24 Illuminated Scope
  23. That's $20 (transfer) and $10 (TCIS).
  24. Mag availability. I kinda like the E4 a little better.
  25. Eh, don't see much. He makes several statements equating 9mm and .380 and then discredits those same assumptions later. Such as "gang bangers" not aiming accounting for multiple non lethal hits as opposed to .40 or .45. Same thing with bullet type. Makes a big difference in 9mm and less so in .45. He also talks about the importance of yaw in rifle calibers but claims they are a liability in handgun calibers, talking about how bad it is that 9mm and .380 deflect on bone. Last I checked broken bones are not critical hits. Most experts see breaking bones as a drawback since it drastically diminishes travel and energy for defensive purposes and lessens bleed out which is much more important. It is interesting just don't think there is much "ballistic" data there. When he said, "9mm is a notoriously bad man stopper" he flies in the face of every other study done showing it is as effective as .45 in hollow points. His samples are skewed by what he has to work with which doesn't account for bullet type, placement, etc. He has an obvious bias towards .45 that I think taints his observations. Just my thoughts. IMO placement and bullet type are critical. Yes, .45 gives a little margin of error in some cases, but it also has some drawbacks. Everything is a compromise. It's just finding the balance you like.
