  1. I'm seriously thinking of moving to AZ. My brother lived in Tuscon for several years and my sister-in-law's family are legal 2nd gen immigrants. I think it may be the new Texas and Nogales maybe the this generations Alamo.
  2. No you only tell people they can't be bigots or have beliefs that interfere with yours. Which is ironic because that is the very thing you gripe about. Circular arguments never work. Again, isn't that exactly what you've been doing in every response? I just think you both are different sides of the same coin. IMHO. strickj, I think i know you well enough (via this forum) to know how you feel about stuff and that you take this mainly tongue in cheek. I'm just ribbing you for the most part. Playing devils adv. No harm meant to ya!
  3. CZ P07. Hands down the best of any in that category and many above it. Great pistol.
  4. So far a thread about confederate tats in the military has dissolved into people judging other people about how bad judging other people is. Hmm that makes sense. I just don't get the logic strikj- Don't tell me what to do, as I tell you not to tell me what to do. A true libertarian wouldn't be bothered by people having different ideas, regardless of what they are. Yet you seem more prejudiced and set in your ideas than those you keep going after as hypocritical. It's obvious you have a thing about religion, conservatism, etc but either be consistent or quite. As far as confederate tats, what' the issue? I've seen much more racially or PC insensitive stuff on military and LE than that. I guess it's the politicians flavor of the month.
  5. A foe doesn't need ammo. They find it whether it's there or not. This is the problem Bush had. He really thought he could work with the libs and never fought back. In the end he just looked indecisive and alienated his base while growing the liberal left.
  6. Could be a bit excessive. Judge could have just dismissed her or a number of other things .... assuming the story goes as the girl said, unlikely however. I can almost guarantee there is more to the story. If her account is accurate then very well could be an ego tripped judge. With power comes responsibility and not all manage that responsibility well.
  7. strick, in theory I agree that Judges may have too much leeway and authority in some cases. For instance I think Judge Judy is a total jerk who uses her position to flaunt her ego. However, there has to be some strict governing authority in a court room. It just so happens the constitution and the law has determined that to be a judge. As one who works depositions, I can tell you that lawyers, defendants, the prosecution will play on the very edges of civility. Winning is more important than principal in most cases. Right - not always, but that's the way the founding fathers saw fit to structure things and to give judges the authority and governance in a court of law. If they weren't strict it can get out of hand very quickly and then you have another OJ trial. That whole debacle was a prime example of a judge that lost control over the court room and when that happens just becomes a sideshow.
  8. Here it is in html Tromix Lead Delivery Systems. Specifically look at #4
  9. or Statistical LE. The theory is the more minor infraction stops you make the greater the chance of catching a felony. Thus great stats and more money. Things politicians LOVE, which is what Serpas is. Problem is since most of the LE is stopping cars on the highway the more heinous crimes start slipping through. I would much rather patrols be deterring crime with presence in high crime areas as opposed to random road stops. Same theory as random road blocks. All in all it's not necessarily a bad tactic ... if applied correctly. Serpas however, is not concerned with LE but rather the politics of LE and where it can take him....... evidently NOLA.
  10. I just don't understand the anarchist, self destructive logic.
  11. Classy. While his officers are working 12/7 during a disaster he's skipping town. Nice!
  12. I find it funny she was embarrassed about going to jail but not wearing a shirt like that.
  13. Interesting. I still think the 124g +p is the best compromise in 9mm. I'm guessing it all equals out in the real world, so i don't worry about it too much.
  14. BTW - if you're going to quote me at least read the quote before you reference it. I'll say no more. Sorry for the clutter guys.
  15. Still not going to answer the questions? I've and others have asked several times now. Set you symantics aside and you will see we have said the same thing, yet you sit in aghast at how I couch it. I find irritating when people refuse to see the forest because of the trees. BTW - You called me out on two different threads and then started a third all centered around what you perceive as something it's not. I see no other way than to take it personal.
  16. Hat nothing! I'm getting a very large TGO tattoo on my most meaty parts!
  17. DaddyO, I also find it odd that you keep going on about this yet in your profile I see you carry a .45 and under Carry #2 you say anything but a mousegun. If you're so intent on preserving life in a shooting, shouldn't you be carrying a small caliber that would greatly reduce the risk of a fatality. After all, you intent is only to stop the threat. Wouldn't a .32 or .22 do that just as well? Maybe you can get your choral group to sing Kum ba ya with you and ease your mind a bit.
  18. So far you haven't answered anything just thrown out ignorance and naive theory. If you want PC speak you will find many to accommodate you and ease your sensitive emotions. This thread was started on out of context statements and raw assumptions that had nothing to do with your characterization. My views and ideas are well represented through numerous threads. I again go back to my first comment that you use proper context, search function, and reading comprehension. At 55 I would hope these things haven't eluded you. I have never said they are synonymous, but reality is what it is. Define deadly force. Define the purpose of a gun. Define SD shooting. Quote the NRA safety rules. All those encompass the deadly nature of the tool and the proper mentality to use them. If you think using or carrying a gun is anything less than a lethal tool, you are a fool. I understand it as such and respect it as such.
  19. Interesting because everything I've read says that 9mm defensive loads in particular are based around velocity to achieve penetration and expansion. Every test I've seen shows much less penetration and less reliable expansion with that heavy of a load due to the loss in velocity. Especially in barrels under 5". Completely different theory than .45. My interpretation is that 124g +p is the perfect compromise, irregardless of bullet, for 9mm (sans FMJ). Now in FMJ I could get behind the 147g.
  20. Really? All the time? I just don't understand why this has turned into some high moral argument. Define deadly force. Define the purpose of a gun. If you shoot, the intent is to kill. There is no argument about that. That is the base principal behind all this. Now, trying to word this as if there are HCP holders out there looking to kill somebody is exactly what the anti's try to do. I seriously doubt anyone here, myself included, every wants to take a life but if I draw and fire that is exactly what I'm ready to do. I'm sorry if there are those who think guns are LTL tools, because if they do they will probably be the ones who end up in court. Not those of us who understand the potential and seriousness of self preservation and protection.
  21. Easy. "I shot to neutralize the threat". Judge - Where you aiming to kill? Me - I aimed to neutralize the threat. Judge - Why so many shots? Me - I fired till the threat was neutralized. Judge - You needed more than one? Me - He hadn't stopped or turned back. Once he did, I stopped.
  22. Is that a real question? J/K Real simple trucks couldn't get to them. ;)Shouldn't last long ....unless all the yahoo's panic and start filling up every container in their house "just in case". Then it will drag on for a while.
