  1. I'm 31 and I knew who he was. Funny to see actors at different stages of their life and careers ..... well at least the good ones. The Cosby show and The Andy Griffith show I can watch over and over.
  2. So all this AZ boycott garbage got me thinking, why not show our support of a state doing their job by doing as much business as we can with them. Not to take away from local business in a tough economy but if we can, I think it would be a great way to protest the absurdity going on from the left. Anyone have or know of a list of business that are based out of AZ? Part of me wants to move there just to be a part of a state that seems to be waking up. AZ may be our Alamo!
  3. So I decided to get a Gerber Covert FAST and I can't wait for the man in brown to get here! I've already decided I would like to get the top sharpened to take full advantage of the design. Anyone know a good knife guy who could get this done and at what cost? I don't want to take it to any old place and have them ruin a brand new knife. BTW - Here is what I'm getting.
  4. I originall y was dead set on getting a Cold Steel Laguna Tactical Tomahawk for a multipurpose survival/utility/weapon, but after some reading I've decide to get a Cold Steel Kukri instead. Seem like it would be perfect for just about anything I could need. Especially after all the flood stuff it would have been much more useful than a battle ax. It has all the benefits of a machete mixed with a sword and a large knife. I also looked at the Ka-Bar Kukri but decided the additional cost was for the name. BTW - I got the 13" for $17 from Amazon. What tool would you guys use for the ultimate survival/utility/defensive blade? Also what are the legalities with these? Can I have it in my vehicle as long as I'm not carrying it like Conan or what? Here is the Ka-Bar for comparison
  5. I thought I read that OTF knives like Microtech do not fall under the "switchblade" definition becasue their button pushes on the blade itself. Am I completley off on that? If so it would seem that there are many legal workarounds to "switchblades". However, I doubt a borderline aggressive officer would agree.
  6. This is a real bill? With all that is going on this is how reps spend their time? Sounds like something they would've already included in Obama-care.
  7. My thinking is that gold is a good insulator against inflation in normal market conditions, but if things got truly bad it would loose a great deal of it's value. In a SHTF it would be a liability to try and lug it around balanced against it's value.
  8. Good point, yeah i'm talking about in possession physical gold. I prefer coins. Certificate stuff would be as worthless as confederate money if the economy truly collapsed or in a depression.
  9. So I've been reading about SHTF stuff and the need for gold, but i just don't get it. If it is a true SHTF wouldn't barter items like food, ammo, etc be far more valuable? Now I'm all for having some gold in your investing portfolio, but if economies tank and governments are in dire straights it would seem gold wouldn't be worth any more than a paper bill. After all they are tired to the same system. Only need I could see it filling is in a recovery mode with a stable government. What do you guys think?
  10. on my work computer I have nothing but problems with AGV and IE8. Firefox has no issues running on the same computer. I turned AVG off due to numerous glitch issues that went away when it was off.
  11. Why not? If you don't like it then go to one of the other subs. My only objection would be if it creates a heavy load on the software, server, etc. I have no idea about the infrastructure stuff, but it would be nice to be able to find flashlight stuff without having to go through all the other stuff. Would clean up the other sub forums as well.
  12. So Pakistan has had him for ten days. Hillary claims Sunday (8 days after) that Pakistan is sheltering him and threatens them, having no clue what's going on. Obama claims Clinton didn't say what she said, then claims a different context when confronted with the 60 min. video. Now the administration is saying nothing. I'm glad their focused on what's important and actually the only clearly defined Constitutional responsibility of the federal government.
  13. Here is a signed one for $87 Amazon.com: Gerber 05786 Applegate Covert Double Bevel Titanium Knife, Black: Home Improvement and the unsigned for $42 Amazon.com: Gerber 22-01966 Covert Knife with Serrated Edge: Home Improvement You can get a signed one with the silver blade for $77
  14. I thought there was something about "daggers" type blades. Does that only apply to fixed blades or only over 4"?
  15. Yeah .... um.. creepy isn't the only word for that.
  16. What about their micro version? It seems to be the same thing only a little shorter.
  17. No, but they aren't double edged. They are "beveled" on the top and I'm guessing if you had to they could be sharpened for use.
  18. I've lived in TN/MS most of my life but by far the worst place was in Weiner, AR. ti was a rice farming community with the town located on a high point in a swamp/marsh area. The field stayed flooded most of the year and those skeeters thrived! The propane gigs work pretty good. The only problem is that once you start using them you can't really quit. The way they work is to draw mosquitoes to the system. Once it is off you realize there is an influx of mosquitoes living around you. BTW consider your neighbors when you place the contraption. They may only get the downside of the system.
  19. Yeah $182 MSRP is a LOT, but Amazon has them in the $50 range.

    Shooting problem.....

Glad you got something corrected. I know a little help I got from someone who knew what they were doing made a huge improvement for me as well. As for the SR9, its trigger is definitely better than the Sigmas but I've heard it is not the best out there. However it can be improved with springs and such.
  21. looking for some compact flip up BUIS for my STG. I like the price point of the Magpul's but they are rather long and bulky and seem to take up a lot of rail space on my 9" top rail. Any suggestions?
  22. Anynon use or handled one of these? I'm liking what I see. GerberGear > Product Details > Applegate-Fairbairn
  23. Ha, ha. The Crusades were mainly about controlling access to the silk road trade routes and sugar plantations of norther Israel/southern Turkey that got all sorts of out of hand. the religious aspect was just a good motivator.
  24. Phil is now the only one I'll transfer a gun through. Seems like all the other dealers prefer he handle transfers as well with how much they are going up on the transfer prices. Great guy.
