Character matters. Especially in a job where it separates public servant from criminal. You really don't think a guy who cheats, steals, and lies to his own wife and family would be completely honest and forthright in his dealings with people he cares nothing about? You do realize infidelity is one of the leading causes for murder. Especially when it involves LE.

What is the Best Knife you have ever owned?
Smith replied to willis68's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
I really liked the CRKT M16 I had, but it got lost in a motorcycle wreck. Now the best would be the new Gerber Covert FAST I recently bought. The other I have would be the custom knife built by Vic Wison. Thing is beautiful. -
I don't think you are remembering all the details of getting that VW plant or the Nissan plants. Huge payouts and complete loss of tax revenue that doesn't stay in TN. He sold his sole to have a political bragging right. It's the equivalent of buying a 35k Hummer to delver meals on wheels. Glad we got the jobs, but financially it did not make TN better. There were better ways of going about that.

Unions were temporary market corrections that have lost most of their use. However, like many of the Democrats operatives, they have been copoted to be used as political strong men for the party and serve little to no purpose for those they purport to serve, ala Civil Rights, Education, etc. Most unions could go away and the market and workers would be much better off. Just ask the auto industry or the obvious to us all the education system.

They were both pretty good. The first guy is probably the fat kid in the army gear splashed around the interweb and the second guy was just funny.

dave, i agree with disgust for BoA, but to excuse what the union thuggery was doing as justified is exactly the same rationale Che used to murder countless people. After all they were part of the corrupt opprressive capitalist pig. After all, had they had to drag his kid out of their house and beat him to get the bankers attention it was the banker who created their pain. Right?

With all the endless studies an empirical data available, I'm amazed there are some that haven't moved past WWI FMJ theory. 87-91% effectiveness for 9mm-.45 in HP. Style has relatively small impact on results. The only caveats are 44 Mag/10mm etc. that have a few percentage points better results. There are however distinctive drops below 9mm where bullet style, barrel length etc become more important.

Cornhole, eh!? Me thinks I'd come up with a different name. You may have some unexpected guest with strange unexpected request.

Dave, you have officially lost it. Your hate has finally finished you. You pass judgment on the banker based on conjecture and hyperbole and then claim fairness. You must be a Democrat.

Just a thought. Be patient whatever you do. Move slow. After the Great Depression those who had left their stocks alone fully recovered after 3 years and made tremendous profits by 7 years. A lot of the so called "old money" was made in the GD stock market. I would try to get it in some kind of Roth or self directed IRA almost no matter if there is a penalty. Put it in funds that have no loads and long records, then leave it alone. Emotional and fear based decisions only make fund managers and brokers money.

Attack a US ship, take hostages, get a full pardon and US citizenship?
Smith replied to a topic in General Chat
Yep, he's happy to be in American prison. Says something about the "justice" system right there. He should have been hung on the yard arm. Of course he's not to blame. He's just an innocent child trying to make a better life for his family. If that argument works I'm robbing a bank tomorrow ..... to support my struggling family. -
CDNN has the S&W M&P AR's that come with 15 mags for about the same price. S&W is also running rebates ($150? IIRC). I think it's the best deal going ATM.

You know, It no longer is a question. The answer is YES!

I should add there are various machete designs and some are more versatile than others. I like the Kurki belly because it works like a hatchet as opposed to straight blade machetes.
-
I carry a full size M&P9. I like having 18 rounds + reloads if necessary. In the past I have carried a PF9 and would like to get the Taurus Slim in 9mm for an alternate carry gun. I've found that the vast majority of the time I can carry a full size with proper clothing. I think it ultimately comes down to personal preference. Some love revolvers, some back pocket sub compacts, other steel 1911's. Just find what works for you.
-
Well I went with the Cold Steel Kurki machete and I'm glad I did. It can chop almost with a camping hatchet, but also can be used for many other applications the saw and hatchet can't do. Not to mention it is much easier to use on smaller material such as shelter coverings and clearing. The Hatchet and saw can not come close in those areas. Way I see it, the machete = multi-tool, hatchet/saw=single purpose.

I found it funny that Obama's statements after his meeting with El Presidente went something to the effect, "no decent law abiding illegal alien......" I quit listening right there. How can you be a decent law abiding illegal immigrant?

The Combat is awesome but too long for a mere civi like myself to carry;). I really like the both blades. Did you get the upper edge sharpened?

My brother works at a Sunglass place in Green Hills and he regularly sells glasses in the $200-$300 range.... Mainly women. Crazy what people spend money on.

Well, a couple blades I ordered came in and I like! To follow up on another thread about the best survival blade I decided on the Cold Steel Kurki machete. It's a little dirty because I had to try it out on some long overgrown stuff in the yard that ranged up to 2". It handled it with no problems. I'm impressed. Only thing I didn't particular care for was the thiness of the handle. It was a bit small for me and would tend to twist more than I'd like. Easy fix with some para cord. Cost $17 from Amazon. 2nd and my most favorite is the Gerber Applegate/Fairbairn F.A.S.T. It is a spring assisted open full size folder. Works very well. While it is beveled on the top it comes with only the under side sharpened. I'll definitely sharpen the top side as well. The handles are G10 and has a piston lock. REALLY like this knife. It is a bit heavy but only compared to my normal Gerber Ripstop folder. That one is super light and 1/4 of the size. This is more of a fighting knife so I appreciate the serrations that will give it more versatility as an EDC. I was also pleasantly surprised that it came with the signatures on the blade. It wasn't supposed to. Those cost about $40 more! I would definitely like to compare it to the Applegate/Fairbairn titanium version, but that one is $100 more. Blade is 440A(?) on this version. It also come with AUS8 ($98) and Titanium ($200) versions. Cost was $46 from Amazon.

I'm just amazed there is even a debate. It's real easy. Do you believe in LE or not? I personally don't see the allure of anarchy.

Guys. He seems to be asking for help and some want to take this opportunity to impune God, ect. If you have a personal agenda against God, fine work it out with him. Otherwise why take what hope some have, so they can share in YOUR misery and hurt. The God I know takes it away if you are willing to let it go. Mike if you need anything you know where to find me and others who are willing.

It's just not true. God will often allow far more than we can handle. It is then when/if we turn to him to confirm his promise to carry us through anything that we finally see his grace in the light of our circumstances. It was Paul who prayed for God to remove the "thorn" from his side. God's response after a period of silence was that he would not remove the "thorn", but rather give him the grace to endure anything. I never fully understood that till we lost our second child. It was several years later that we had several friends in succession (my brother included) that we were able to help through the same circumstances. Wasn't easy, but it made me grateful to be able to share and understand with these couples and not just throw out platitudes and generic "grace". In 2 Corinthians Paul starts off telling us that he God allows us to go through things so that we may be comforted in order that we may comfort those who don't have anything to turn to. In other words God has designed it that the strong suffer in order to help the weaker make it through. This is why bad things happen to good people. Who will help the helpless if we have never been there before. OS, unfortunately it may appear that way in many circumstances and for that I'm truly sorry.I also agree that it has become a common catch phrase with little understanding of the application. That is what happens sometimes when man puts his desires before the desire of God the father. However, there are many who blow that stereotype out of the water. Don't let the ugly blind you to the truth.

Compressing the springs shouldn't have any weakening effect. The only thing that should effect the springs is compressing decompressing the spring. I have mine loaded so I'll see.

Seriously? I LOATHED that movie. Maybe it was more the subject matter than the movie itself.
