  1. So is there a way to clean these without ruining them? The large katana has some pretty bad corrosion in spots. Would Naval Jelly be safe to use?
  2. If you look at the chart I posted you will see that effectiveness is greatly influenced by bullet design. One stops ranged from low 80's to mid 90's on most good calibers depending on bullet design. I think that is directly related to the factors you are talking about and the designs ability to maximize the potential of different calibers.
  3. The large sword has to be a relatively "budget" sword. The handle is all but worthless for fighting, but the steel is nice. The "wave" where the two steels meets used to be very pronounced and pretty, but my dad has let it sit too long. The smaller sword though, is heavy and well made. Sucker is razor sharp too! I'm thinking the bayonet is off an Ariska maybe?
  4. Here's a better chart with various bullets per calibers. https://docs.google.com/fileview?id=0B_4McV2qH6r_NDM3ZGE3NmUtNTU1OS00YzA0LTliMTEtOWZhMTdhNjJjNTIy&hl=en
  5. Haha! I've had pretty good luck with them, just about everywhere I've gone. That includes all the way to Kalifornia and back and the east coast. Only problem I've had is when they were the first incarnation of ATT and changed to Cingular. Billing issues galore! Cingular was awful till they went back to ATT Wireless and now it's OK. I will say, I found out I was in collections for $600 some odd dollars for my supposed old Cingular account from 2004. Keep in mind I have had the same account since 2003! Evidently during the merge there wee some issues with the accounts changing hands. That was really aggravating. They finally cleared it after I explained there is no way I could be in collections for an account that has been active for 6 years since they claimed I canceled!
  6. My grandfather brought these back from Korea. The short katana doesn't have any inscription on the tang only the hand guard. The Handle appears to be lizard or snake of some sort. The long sword has inscription on the tang (both sides) and you used to could see the "ripple" from the different steels on the blade. Both are extremely sharp! The last one is a bayonet of course. No markings except the two on the hilt. Any help on how to get these in better shape or preserve for the future? The Short katana blade is in pretty good shape while the long sword has some heavy rust in spots. the bayonet is in excellent shape All three: Long Sword: Short Sword: Bayonet:
  7. Great finds!
  8. Ah! We need the reset button for that!
  9. Never mind PM sent. Bottom line for me is, aside from the American Indian, there has never been a more abused and maligned yet triumphant people than the Jews. Push comes to shove, I want Israel on our side and I want us (US) to be on their side.
  10. AHHH! It's Chris Farley returned from the dead .... and uglier!

    Underwater Ballistics

My guess is because of the hammer. To much area to build water pressure. Same thing as the revolver. In the striker fired guns a firing pin slips easier through the water.

    Underwater Ballistics

Wouldn't have a made a whole lot of difference but i would have like to see FMJ bullets. Unless they did and i missed it.
  13. I'm actually amazed and confused why the boarded with paintball guns. Yes, i know they had their pistols, but why would they go in with paintball guns? I think it show a lot of restraint and yet not their usually clever tactics.
  14. I take it to the jewelers and have it re-plated.
  15. I had to jump on that.Although, I don't really need two. If someone wants to take one of the two I got I might let one go. I got a spear point and Tanto. Both serrated. I'd always wanted a Recon 1 and couldn't pass up $30!.
  16. Man! I forgot about those movies!
  17. Bush did it because he doesn't like Guatemalans.
  18. Hypocrisy has nothing to do with it. A hypocrite says one thing and does another. You are far from being a hypocrite as far as I can tell. You're getting run through the "ringer" because you are espousing the same racist and fact-less diatribe that led, not that long ago, to the extermination of nearly 6 million Jews. Believe it or not most German's didn't see it as racist or fact-less either, but it is clear in hindsight exactly what was the truth. This is not new or untested theory or ideology you are espousing. It is easy to spot and easier still to discredit. If you truly are concerned with history and the study of it I encourage you to study actual history and not that written by those who wish to use it for their own purposes.
  19. Because that is the current contextual understanding of who they are. However, it is not in fact who they are ethnically or otherwise which was the point. I'm starting to see how you draw conclusions and it all makes sense. You are correct I misused "from the the middle east" when my intention was the specific land called Israel.
  20. IIRC, they were attaching them to the readers at Sonic's since they were easily removed.
  21. Well, it is the only thing I read in their paper.
  22. Now how in the world can you blame a 300 ft deep sinkhole on poor sewage drainage? That's a lot of crap!
  23. Middle Eastern and Arab are not the same thing any more than saying American is Caucasian. Sorry, Suntzu. He lit my fire.
  24. I find it humorous the turns threads take! From Republican baby killers to Terminator 3! Haha.
