    "Good" Entry 1911

Not sure what the model numbers are but the Taurus with the rails are the newest incarnation. Centerfiresystems.com has some great deals on RIA. I especially like the Tactical versions as well as the two tone. Centerfire Systems - 1911

    "Good" Entry 1911

RIA is the way to go. I also like the Taurus 1911.
  4. Anyone know about this guy or his organization? From what I've read about him ... I like it, I like it a lot! Where I work (across from the Hermitage Hotel) this group of old salty bikers pulled up followed by a couple support vehicles with their name on it. Evidently they go into the war zones in the Sudan and rescue children who would otherwise be abducted to fight for the LRA. Machine Gun Preacher Angels of East Africa
  5. "Power through population" may be working. California has lost it ...officially.
  6. They both are good people. Especially Galaraga. What a classy guy. Not to beat up on Joyce, he's a great ump, but what they heck was he thinking in the first place!? I mean even if it were a tie at first base, you don't give the pitcher with a perfect game the benefit of the doubt on the 27th out? I could understand if it were the 6th, 7th, or 8th inning, but it was the 9th with 2 outs for Pete's sake!
  7. Well, I found a little on the Katana (long sword) the signiture is: Kobayashi kawachi no kami KUNISUKE 小林河内守国助. I'm working on the dates and the rest of it, but evidently this maker died in 1647 so the blade is very old. kunisuke
  8. I bet she is a pleasure to converse with.
  9. Despite the consensus that the GAP going away, it has surprisingly survived and in fact it is starting to be adopted by some LE agencies. Having the Glock marketing behind it is a big plus. I'd say go for it at $379. Tactical-Life.com
  10. How dumb can this guy be. Hope they finally get him.
  11. You don't want Hydrashoks. They were great 20 years ago, but have since been surpassed. They tend to clog on material.
  12. 7.62x39 5.56 6.8 (when the conversion for my STG is available)!
  13. Winchester Ranger-T, Federal HST, and then just about any current JHP design.
  14. So is there a way to clean these without ruining them? The large katana has some pretty bad corrosion in spots. Would Naval Jelly be safe to use?
  15. If you look at the chart I posted you will see that effectiveness is greatly influenced by bullet design. One stops ranged from low 80's to mid 90's on most good calibers depending on bullet design. I think that is directly related to the factors you are talking about and the designs ability to maximize the potential of different calibers.
  16. The large sword has to be a relatively "budget" sword. The handle is all but worthless for fighting, but the steel is nice. The "wave" where the two steels meets used to be very pronounced and pretty, but my dad has let it sit too long. The smaller sword though, is heavy and well made. Sucker is razor sharp too! I'm thinking the bayonet is off an Ariska maybe?
  17. Here's a better chart with various bullets per calibers. https://docs.google.com/fileview?id=0B_4McV2qH6r_NDM3ZGE3NmUtNTU1OS00YzA0LTliMTEtOWZhMTdhNjJjNTIy&hl=en
  18. Haha! I've had pretty good luck with them, just about everywhere I've gone. That includes all the way to Kalifornia and back and the east coast. Only problem I've had is when they were the first incarnation of ATT and changed to Cingular. Billing issues galore! Cingular was awful till they went back to ATT Wireless and now it's OK. I will say, I found out I was in collections for $600 some odd dollars for my supposed old Cingular account from 2004. Keep in mind I have had the same account since 2003! Evidently during the merge there wee some issues with the accounts changing hands. That was really aggravating. They finally cleared it after I explained there is no way I could be in collections for an account that has been active for 6 years since they claimed I canceled!
  19. My grandfather brought these back from Korea. The short katana doesn't have any inscription on the tang only the hand guard. The Handle appears to be lizard or snake of some sort. The long sword has inscription on the tang (both sides) and you used to could see the "ripple" from the different steels on the blade. Both are extremely sharp! The last one is a bayonet of course. No markings except the two on the hilt. Any help on how to get these in better shape or preserve for the future? The Short katana blade is in pretty good shape while the long sword has some heavy rust in spots. the bayonet is in excellent shape All three: Long Sword: Short Sword: Bayonet:
  20. Never mind PM sent. Bottom line for me is, aside from the American Indian, there has never been a more abused and maligned yet triumphant people than the Jews. Push comes to shove, I want Israel on our side and I want us (US) to be on their side.
  21. AHHH! It's Chris Farley returned from the dead .... and uglier!
