The one I showed is a P4 LED assembly. The innards are the same Surefire, Fenix, etc. use ie LED, chips, ect. The assemble won't be the same but not bad. The DX flashlights take a little more user inspection to make sure o rings and stuff like that is in properly. DX is a great source of parts to make your own flashlight or upgrade and customize your high end lights. Bronker, I was researching flashlights and started coming across DIY stuff. Most all of it led to DX, which (as far as flashlights go) get components directly from the Asian factories that all the high end guys get their stuff from. Kinda of a remove the middle man thing. I have way too much quite computer time at work.

I have great luck with the dealextreme.com Ultrafire lights. Much brighter then comparable Surefire's and cost a whole lot less. DealExtreme: $27.03 MTE SSC P7 900-Lumen 2-Mode LED Flashlight (18650) I've got several of these. shipping can be slower than domestic, but I've never had it take more than 10 days. DealExtreme: $19.41 Ultrafire C1 R2-WC 5-Mode Memory 250-LM LED Flashlight with 2*Assault Crowns (2*CR123A/1*18650)
  4. Partially. Difference is that news is not intellectual or literary personal property in the traditional sense. If it were the AP would be suing every news outlet in the world. Newspapers crosspsost articles in exactly the same way i suggeted above. Now intellectual property I agree, but news does not fit that criteria, even in their own usage.
  5. I don't think you understand the point.
  6. As long as the link to the original article and proper recognition is given copryright is served.
  7. I know the mods have a lot to look for as it is, but could you make it a requirement in news threads to actually post the content of the article and not just the link? My thinking is I hate bumping the CA or Tennesseans viewer rating by clicking on the links. Just a thought.
  8. Yes, thanks for the links. Good info. Finished blade. As much as i'd like to be able to work steel, I have neither the time nor resources to do it right.
  9. So I've been reading about blade steel and it seems almost like a 9mm vs. .45 debate. I know it varies by company and heat treating ect., so I'm looking for something that assumes it comes from a reputable company. So does anyone know of a good breakdown of blade steels and the pros and cons of each?
  10. I just never got that movie.
  11. that's awesome!
  12. Yeah, but Fess Parker said it in Disney's Davey Crockett!
  13. Awesome rifle. Definitely like it better than the SCAR!
  14. Newbie!
  15. Cool. Thanks! Won't be anywhere Memphis for this, but I spent many a summer at Sardis. I will definitely be looking for something like this to take my kids to.
  16. OK I'll be more blunt. If you want to advertise an event that gets new folks more involved in firearms you might want to tell them what to expect, the details of the event, and at least link to a website that tells you what you are going to pay money to attend and why you should do so.
  17. Yeah, I did a bit of reading as well. Very interesting!
  18. Um...OK, I guess?
  19. So educate me, what the heck is an Appleseed? I read all your info and nothing said what it was.
  20. 5 yrs! Holy cow Batman!
  21. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Arizona is the new Alamo. We fought off Mexican invasion and aggression once. I wonder if we can do it again. The similarities are eerily similar and disturbing, the difference may be American will and resolve.
  22. This is too much like unbelievable satire to be true. How far and fast we can fall. I didn't have to read much past the first paragraph. FOXNews.com - With Revolutionaries 'Looking On,' Teachers Take Kids on a Protest Trip to Arizona
  23. Since a bunch of us are about to have a variety of these i thought i post mine first! I was fortunate enough to get the tanto and a spear point both 1/2 serrated. I'm keeping the tanto and another member's getting the spear point. Specs: Weight: 5.6 oz. Blade Thick: 9/64" (3.5mm) Blade Length: 4" Handle: 5 1/3" long. G-10 Steel: AUS 8A Stainless Overall Length: 9 1/3" Black Teflon¨ Finish Sheath: Ultra Lock™ with Ambidextrous Stainless Pocket Clip My first impression is that it is BIG. Not in a bad way, just a bit larger than I was expecting. I count it as a positive thing. Second impression is that the handles are very grippy. A little more than I would like, but I imagine they will smooth down some with carry. Again, probably a good thing for use. Third is that it is VERY sharp. I can easily shave with it ... literally. Sharpest knife I've ever had. It opens easily with a flick of the wrist and locks tight. No play whatsoever. Check out their website for video on how tough they are. This knife is well worth it for more than double the price I paid ($30), which is actually what they go for. Great deal on a great knife. Below is the Recon with my Gerber Covert FAST for comparison.
  24. Very easy and great money .... as long as your equipment works. I do it freelance for a family friends company out of Memphis called Alpha Reporting. I usually get one or two a week right now and am hoping they will commit to expanding full fledge here in Middle TN. The difficult part comes in production, but ATM I don't deal with that. They do all the producing in Memphis. Producing is basically getting everything in the right format, depending on order, and mastering the video. We can't edit for content only for quality so that part is easy. Degree really won't much difference. I will add the hours are generally really good. They can legally only depose for 8 hrs a day unless there is a court ordered extension (never seen it happen). Very rarely have I gone over 8 hrs in one day. I have gone several 8 hour days on one depo, however. Most only run 3-6 hours. I haven't done any court videography but there is plenty of that as well. They can go from pretty interesting to monotonous.
  25. Just started back on this crazy train. From others i have talked to, it is either love or hate. It seem that family configurations make a big difference. Having a wife and 4 kids under 7 at home makes it very tough for me. Especially considering I have another (on call) job during the day court video/reporting depositions.
