  1. Funny how nearly all the infrastructure of Europe, the Middle East, and Afghanistan is/was funded by the US. Yet we are the bad guys .... interesting.
  2. Not even close. Russia desperately needed/needs a warm water port.
  3. Unarmed guard is 4 hours and the Armed Guard is an additional 12 hours (4 of those range). So 16 total for Armed Guard.
  4. I meant only if it is fresh treated, less than a year old. After that you have to spray for the things. They will still bore in fresh stuff but it will kill them, which is what sounded like happened in the OP.
  5. Interesting. Any more details about what will be covered?
  6. Depends on the lease/rental agreement. Most professional management companies reserve those rights as the "owner".
  7. I know I'm in the minority, but I agree. Now, if the legislature takes the next step and corrects the signage issue then it will be a good bill. as Of now I lost more than I gained ... and that's not just in regards to restaurants.
  8. Pretty sure you do. The Armed Guard license only covers you while on the job. It's not like LE in that regard IIRC.
  9. Yep, bumblebee/carpenter bee/wood boring bee not sure their proper name. Those things can make a nice hole in no time. Being it's anew house the Arsenic in the treated lumber is still pretty fresh and will kill them, but not before they make a hole or two. No big problem.

    FNP-9

Try here http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handguns/35324-fnx-9-a.html Basically, the safety/decocker is updated, the rail is more standard, and the grip texture is updated to be more like the FNP-45. Here is a picture of the two: Old FNP for comparison
  11. I'm thinking instead of the "no sign no dollars" cards, it would be more effective to make cards that point out the assumed liability the property owner takes when they assume responsiblity for you safety by posting. might have more impact. especially in these type circumstances.
  12. Sorry to hear about the orphanage. I've got missionary friends in South Africa right now that are being overrun with problems. The World Cup is reeking havoc on them. Abandoned kids, prostitution, crime. It's really hard. Glad there are others trying to make a difference with the truly needy. As the bible says, true religion is taking car of orphans, widows, and the helpless.
  13. This solves all the problems mentioned in this thread: Transportation, Walmart, & Food
  14. HaHa, the AP thing was pretty funny. No ill intent taken on or given. Just a thought. I hate artificially boosting readership to some of the drivel out there. This site probably does a good bit of boosting to the CA and Tennessean over there normal ratings . Then again maybe they will start looking at where their ratings are coming from and change course ..... but they haven't yet.

    SCC P7 flashlight

The one I showed is a P4 LED assembly. The innards are the same Surefire, Fenix, etc. use ie LED, chips, ect. The assemble won't be the same but not bad. The DX flashlights take a little more user inspection to make sure o rings and stuff like that is in properly. DX is a great source of parts to make your own flashlight or upgrade and customize your high end lights. Bronker, I was researching flashlights and started coming across DIY stuff. Most all of it led to DX, which (as far as flashlights go) get components directly from the Asian factories that all the high end guys get their stuff from. Kinda of a remove the middle man thing. I have way too much quite computer time at work.

I have great luck with the dealextreme.com Ultrafire lights. Much brighter then comparable Surefire's and cost a whole lot less. DealExtreme: $27.03 MTE SSC P7 900-Lumen 2-Mode LED Flashlight (18650) I've got several of these. shipping can be slower than domestic, but I've never had it take more than 10 days. DealExtreme: $19.41 Ultrafire C1 R2-WC 5-Mode Memory 250-LM LED Flashlight with 2*Assault Crowns (2*CR123A/1*18650)
  18. Partially. Difference is that news is not intellectual or literary personal property in the traditional sense. If it were the AP would be suing every news outlet in the world. Newspapers crosspsost articles in exactly the same way i suggeted above. Now intellectual property I agree, but news does not fit that criteria, even in their own usage.
  19. I don't think you understand the point.
  20. As long as the link to the original article and proper recognition is given copryright is served.
  21. I know the mods have a lot to look for as it is, but could you make it a requirement in news threads to actually post the content of the article and not just the link? My thinking is I hate bumping the CA or Tennesseans viewer rating by clicking on the links. Just a thought.
  22. Yes, thanks for the links. Good info. Finished blade. As much as i'd like to be able to work steel, I have neither the time nor resources to do it right.
  23. So I've been reading about blade steel and it seems almost like a 9mm vs. .45 debate. I know it varies by company and heat treating ect., so I'm looking for something that assumes it comes from a reputable company. So does anyone know of a good breakdown of blade steels and the pros and cons of each?
  24. I just never got that movie.
