true but I was thinking that since they essentially stripped the Federal authority and made it clear that it was an individual right limited by the states rights that bills like the ones in Montana and other places would be verified by this ruling.

What about this thought from left field. Could this effectively end the BATF in relation to gun control? If it is in fact an individual liberty only limited by states then what role can BATF have in any enforcement? I seriously doubt they would see it this way, but it seems pretty clear to me. They should now be referred to as BAT! Edited to add: as long as it does not cross state lines, which is how they maneuvered in there to begin with.

I saw an interesting article a while back talking about how differently 2A is treated in court decisions as opposed to other amendment rulings. For instance Miranda. The day after is was ruled every PD in the country complied and there weren't massive law suites to squirm around it. There were clarifying challenges, but nothing challenging the original footing. However, when ever there is a positive 2A ruling it has to be followed by numerous other "technicality" suits to force enforcement and compliance with the original ruling.

The only way that won't cost you an arm and leg is to move them to new cards with introductory rates and PAY THEM OFF ASAP. However, the fact that there is 11k in un secured debt and no plan to take care of them indicates you would probably end up doubling your debt with the above option. As Dave Ramsey refers to it, call it your Stupid Tax and concentrate on paying them off as is. The pain will be a better lesson. The more creative you get the more screwed you usually get. BTW keep in mind that your wife's debt is your debt as well. Sorry, but there isn't an easy way only painful and more painful. That is debt. I speak from experience.

Haha, you would think that. However, I can tell you that on the second day of running "The Hill" in your suit and then standing in formation being quizzed withe zero response time and a wrong answer or 1 second delay means a "bonus" hill run...... a year and a half of practice would not seem like enough! Ah, fond memories of Sgt. Hickman!

That sounds like a heck of a good time. At least as far as jobs go!

I really like my Kurkri CS machete. Thing is tough and cuts like a champ. I need to para-cord wrap the handle to make it a little thicker and give me better purchase. The normal handles tend to want to twist a bit when cutting at an angle. BTW - you need to get a full family picture. I'm having trouble keeping up with all the blades you keep getting. Nice collection!

Wolf is generally a little underpowered, so it shouldn't stress parts as much as other domestic factory ammo. I've shot thousands of rounds of Wolf through my AK's and never had an issue with any of it. AR's on the other hand do and I believe it is because they tend to open a 5.56 bolt face up to accept other calibers. BTW - go with the upgrade.

I'll take it before you throw it away ... seriously! I love that stuff for plinking. I've never had a problem. People who do have problems in an AR, usually find out it is the extractor that needs upgrading. Probably a good idea to upgrade the extractor no matter what ammo you use. AR's are about the only guns I've heard about that have extraction problems with Wolf and it is usually a case of extractor, headspace, or chamber tolerances. Is your rifle barrel marked .223 or 5.56 NATO?

Used to carry one. Mostly OWB in a Hoffner's Hybrid warrior and a Don Hume JIT. The JIT works really well for a low price holster. With a good belt it held the light P99 high and tight. A normal untucked shirt covered it better than most other guns due to it's size and shape. They are very similar in size to a Glock 19, so a lot of the same G19 holster recommendations work well for the P99. As thin as they are just about any good IWB holster should work as well. The thing i liked about the P99 was the bottom of the grip handle is curved and rounded so they don't print nearly as bad as some of the more traditional squared but guns.

Primary Arms is the way to go. I have a Vortex SPARC and I really like it. Vortex Strikefire also gets a lot of positive reviews. The Vortex's also come with mounts and all the necessary hardware that you usually have to buy separate. Stay away from the Sig T1 clone IMO.

Run and KNOW your ten codes BEFORE you go. Will save you a little running time. Of course you will learn to love running so it's not that big of a deal! They will teach you to shoot the way they want you to. Its actually better not to go in with a lot of bad habits or skills they may or may not have to break you from. When my BIL went in he had shot quite a bit before, but they changed him to left hand and he later became his departments SWAT sharpshooter/sniper.

There is maybe one or two and I hope they changed their minds after the same question was presented in other threads. The likely hood of a JHP passing through and having enough left to do anything is extremely remote. Heck most defensive rounds have trouble with several layers of clothing much less several layers of clothing, body, several layers of clothing, more clothing, and then still penetrate deep enough to do harm in the second body. Missd shots are of vastly more concern. The fragible rounds really only have a place in high velocity rifle/shotgun rounds and then usually only for specific LE/Military tactical purposes. ..... or think of it this way. Do you really want a bullet guaranteed NOT to work like a couple hundred years worth of ballistic data deems necessary to take down ONE threat?

Get a hold of Dave Robertson. You can find him on ar15.com in the industry section (Microtech). PM is best as their move is still making the phone spotty.

Guy had an extensive vocabulary. Classy guy. Funny girl. On a side note, when my wife is using the laptop i like to take the wireless mouse and move it just enough to where she doesn't notice it for a while, but frustrates here. I have simple humor.

Yeah but of the planned 160k SCARS budgeted, 120K were Mk16's. That's a major redirect of plans. Would be interesting if they would go with the in between and adopt the 6.8! One can dream.

Maybe McChrystal had some effective change after all. Making Obama's foolishness headline news may have forced his hand into doing something positive. Then again once the heat is off he'll probably slam the brakes on again.

Interesting development. Looks like a lot of wasted money to not go forward with.

Yeah, IIRC they aren't on the market yet. They were popular into the Indian wars and then kinda died off.

Rossi Circuit Judge! Came across this in the newest American Rifleman. I personally love the idea. Although I could do without the 410 option and bump it up to 45-70 or something along those lines. I wonder why these never caught on? Thoughts?

Here comes the koolaid. It's comments like the above that destroy a lot of credibility when it comes to discussing Glock's in general. M&P's and XD's have gone through same "torture" test with the same and in some cases better results. They also have better safety records. S&W's customer service is just as legendary as Glock's and even have a much longer track record with LEO than Glock (as company relationships go) and many PD's are going back to S&W as they drop the growingly outdated Glock. The Gen 4's are the first corrective update to the original design since it's inception. Glock cornered the market with a great product and even better LE prices. I give more credit to their PR people than their gun. Anyone who trains enough with a certain platform will more than likely eventually become proficient with it. The fact that many have to acclimate to that particular platform as opposed to many others that come more naturally is not a good trait of the Glock. IMO - these are the two camps in regard to Glock.
