  1. I'll take it before you throw it away ... seriously! I love that stuff for plinking. I've never had a problem. People who do have problems in an AR, usually find out it is the extractor that needs upgrading. Probably a good idea to upgrade the extractor no matter what ammo you use. AR's are about the only guns I've heard about that have extraction problems with Wolf and it is usually a case of extractor, headspace, or chamber tolerances. Is your rifle barrel marked .223 or 5.56 NATO?
  2. Used to carry one. Mostly OWB in a Hoffner's Hybrid warrior and a Don Hume JIT. The JIT works really well for a low price holster. With a good belt it held the light P99 high and tight. A normal untucked shirt covered it better than most other guns due to it's size and shape. They are very similar in size to a Glock 19, so a lot of the same G19 holster recommendations work well for the P99. As thin as they are just about any good IWB holster should work as well. The thing i liked about the P99 was the bottom of the grip handle is curved and rounded so they don't print nearly as bad as some of the more traditional squared but guns.

    AR red dot scope

Primary Arms is the way to go. I have a Vortex SPARC and I really like it. Vortex Strikefire also gets a lot of positive reviews. The Vortex's also come with mounts and all the necessary hardware that you usually have to buy separate. Stay away from the Sig T1 clone IMO.
  5. Run and KNOW your ten codes BEFORE you go. Will save you a little running time. Of course you will learn to love running so it's not that big of a deal! They will teach you to shoot the way they want you to. Its actually better not to go in with a lot of bad habits or skills they may or may not have to break you from. When my BIL went in he had shot quite a bit before, but they changed him to left hand and he later became his departments SWAT sharpshooter/sniper.
  6. There is maybe one or two and I hope they changed their minds after the same question was presented in other threads. The likely hood of a JHP passing through and having enough left to do anything is extremely remote. Heck most defensive rounds have trouble with several layers of clothing much less several layers of clothing, body, several layers of clothing, more clothing, and then still penetrate deep enough to do harm in the second body. Missd shots are of vastly more concern. The fragible rounds really only have a place in high velocity rifle/shotgun rounds and then usually only for specific LE/Military tactical purposes. ..... or think of it this way. Do you really want a bullet guaranteed NOT to work like a couple hundred years worth of ballistic data deems necessary to take down ONE threat?
  7. Get a hold of Dave Robertson. You can find him on ar15.com in the industry section (Microtech). PM is best as their move is still making the phone spotty.
  8. Guy had an extensive vocabulary. Classy guy. Funny girl. On a side note, when my wife is using the laptop i like to take the wireless mouse and move it just enough to where she doesn't notice it for a while, but frustrates here. I have simple humor.
  9. Yeah but of the planned 160k SCARS budgeted, 120K were Mk16's. That's a major redirect of plans. Would be interesting if they would go with the in between and adopt the 6.8! One can dream.
  10. Maybe McChrystal had some effective change after all. Making Obama's foolishness headline news may have forced his hand into doing something positive. Then again once the heat is off he'll probably slam the brakes on again.
  11. Interesting development. Looks like a lot of wasted money to not go forward with.

    Revolver Rifle!

Yeah, IIRC they aren't on the market yet. They were popular into the Indian wars and then kinda died off.
  13. Rossi Circuit Judge! Came across this in the newest American Rifleman. I personally love the idea. Although I could do without the 410 option and bump it up to 45-70 or something along those lines. I wonder why these never caught on? Thoughts?
  14. Here comes the koolaid. It's comments like the above that destroy a lot of credibility when it comes to discussing Glock's in general. M&P's and XD's have gone through same "torture" test with the same and in some cases better results. They also have better safety records. S&W's customer service is just as legendary as Glock's and even have a much longer track record with LEO than Glock (as company relationships go) and many PD's are going back to S&W as they drop the growingly outdated Glock. The Gen 4's are the first corrective update to the original design since it's inception. Glock cornered the market with a great product and even better LE prices. I give more credit to their PR people than their gun. Anyone who trains enough with a certain platform will more than likely eventually become proficient with it. The fact that many have to acclimate to that particular platform as opposed to many others that come more naturally is not a good trait of the Glock. IMO - these are the two camps in regard to Glock.
  15. We got your point, just think you might need to get some Midol. Seriously though, I spent 16 years in Memphis and if there was something to get offended by this isn't it.
  16. I have a feeling you won't like the ergos of the Glock with your background. It takes some getting used to getting a hang of their odd grip angle. Of course some don't have a problem transitioning. There are some good hammer fired guns available that can fill the same niche. Sigs, H&K's, CZ P07, and the FN FNX9 would all be excellent choices. You may also want to try the M&P line or the XD line as well.
  17. I think it was simply for area reference. Hardly anyone knows Como, MS and since most of the crowd draw is Memphis I'd consider it appropriate.
  18. ETA is early next week as far as I know. You can pm drcoffee here. He is making them.
  19. Got 270 rounds through drcoffee's soon to be released Neu-Trigger today and I will just say it was a pleasure. It is a simple $25 (shipped) drop-in part that makes a world of difference for the STG, AUG, TPD, etc. All you do take out the trigger pack and install. No further breakdown is needed. It also does not alter any parts permanently so it is 100% reversible and transferable if necessary. While the weight certainly felt less, the take up, reset, and break were VAST improvements over the stock trigger. The stock trigger play is now gone. No more take-up, very clean crisp break and minimal reset. Pull feels lighter but I have no way to measure. It could be the overall improvements that make it feel lighter. Not one single problem shooting Wolf 55g ammo. I figured I'd stick with my budget stuff thinking if it works with this it will work with anything. I did rapid firing sequences as well as three round groups and then single shots (@ 100 yards.) for accuracy. I really noticed the trigger improvements on the rapid sequences and the single shots. During the rapid mag dumps the minimal reset and lack of pre-travel really shined and made the gun incredibly faster on follow up shots than the stock trigger. On the single/accuracy shots the non-existent take up and very crisp break made it easy to put shots were I intended. I only wish I had calipers to test the before and after measurements. Either way the "feel" and performance is much improved.
  20. While I think the current layout looks really good, this is a good idea.
  21. I'm just curious what kinda events we are planning for with gun ports and seeding fields If it's that bad, seeding food plots is going to be difficult at best if they aren't already there. You're talking about having enough reserves to last several months until a harvest ...at best. Then you have to produce enough to get through till the next seasonal crop and hope all the other growing factors are in place. We haven't even talked about winter, water issues, soil quality, or the difficulty process of land preparation. IMO if you don't already have a pretty decent garden with mature plants that you know will produce and have been producing or very large food reserves to last a year or more, seeds are going to be a lot of work with little benefit over that time period. Only saving grace would be being able to hunt till food plots produce, but at that point you are no longer mobile and everyone else will be hunting the same areas. Just my thoughts.

eh, it's alright on my Nokia E71. It only shows the forums list when I open it, so i have to navigate a lot more to find the new posts. I personally like using Opera on my phone even though it is a bit slower.
  23. Just noticed there is something called ITrader in my profile page, but it says it is closed. Is this something that will be used in place of the +1 system?
