  1. Pretty neat to get it on video.
  2. OS, I agree there are problems with Fedex but the reality is UPS is requesting our money to do business which essential will turn it into a government business. Maybe the regulations should be more along the lines of what Fedex is using instead of UPS. Or maybe the government should get out of it all together. However all the above is not really the issue. The issue is the Obama administration and the unions see a great opportunity to get their greedy hands on a decent business in order to exploit it. There is no way this will improve anything UPS or Fedex related.
  3. Common thread - Good ideas completely screwed up by government.
  4. Well FedEx isn't unionized so there is hope. However, if they get a hold of UPS then they will use it to bailout the USPS and destroy them both. It would make DSL look great!
  5. I understand the law on face value and know where you are coming from. However, I have encountered one to many cases of Dr doogood or similar person make a false claim or "judgment" call (mostly spanking issues) only to have the good parents name, reputation, and relationship with their child forever damaged. Not to mention that in abuse claims it is guilty until proven innocent. FYI - I had an aunt who was a DCS case worker and she had the power to take any child, no matter how small or unfounded the claim, until an investigations was concluded. Let's just say i love my aunt but she couldn't manage her own life much less somebody elses.
  6. Good law. However, it will be inconvenient for AZ residents to travel to other states.
  7. There are all sorts of personalities in LE just like there are in every aspect of life. Some come across better than others, but that in no way makes a cop crooked or demands a lawsuit because they guy's personality is not "jovial"
  8. I absolutely loath the idea that Dr.'s are government informants without patient recourse. Meaning they are required by law to inform on individuals based on personal judgment not necessarily guided or scholastically attained with total anonymity. Never asked about guns but i get really irritated being scolded about my kids not wearing full body armor to ride their bikes.
  9. aside from getting a lawyer, the lesson learned is 1. Don't speed 2. Don't let your HCP expire 3. If it does expire or you don't have one, keep the dang thing unloaded while in transport. 4. don't volunteer any unnecessary information. Could he have been more reasonable? Yep. Could he have thrown the book at you and took you straight to jail? Yep.

Yep! It's a nice one. If you want to get the trigger even better check these guys out. It was next on my list. https://apextactical.com/store/product-info.php?pid35.html
  11. WOW! The dropped the case? What a great system we have, huh? Stay safe D. i know it won't help much but can't you at least get a restraining order?
  12. No i agree. I'm not advocating either way. I was mainly curious if something so simple could trigger that kind of action. I know in other cases such as child abuse allegations or domestic violence the charge is almost a damnation from the get go never mind actual findings. Many of us have said something in the heat of an argument that we would never follow through with or is simply an extreme expression not to be taken literally. I was just curious if the above situation could actually trigger a suspension or revocation hearing. My statement about using the threat of suspension as leverage to calm him was not directly related to the initial question, but more of a practical one on one discussion I might have with the individual outside of a legal context. My presentation confused the two.
  13. Well I thought had a post about gunrunner32 doing this locally, but it disappeared. Anyway, saw some of his camo work in another thread and it looks good. Might PM him and see if he'd do it.
  14. LE would disagree. If a gun is in process of being drawn, bad guy is down immediately. If a gun is already drawn on arrival and BG even flinches, bad guy is down. IMO this is a really easy situation. I think you guys WAY over think situations that aren't that complicated. BTW you can legally arrest and detain anyone you spot in the commission of a felony. Armed robbery fits that very well. Now holding him at gunpoint may/may not be an issue, but shooting the guy is 100% OK. Only caveat would be if he was already running away from the bank or something along those lines. Of course this thread won't end until you, Jaime, and few others debate the minutia of the law for 8 pages anyway.
  15. Pretty clear and easy to prove fear of death or injury. Guy has a gun drawn and is committing armed robbery. This would be an easy case.
  16. Lester I'm with you on the DA. I've tried DA and DA/SA but I just cou;dn'y get used to it. My first HG was a hi-power so the SA feeling trigger was what I was used to. I' hear from guys who got their start on revolvers that DA is a lot more intuitive. I guess my point is what you learn with makes a big difference. As far as C&L, I've carried that way a lot and never found it to be a problem safety wise. When you think about it it is actually safer than most striker fired carry simply because the safety is not passive. It takes two deliberate actions to fire it as opposed to one. Also I've found that a low bore axis greatly increases my accuracy. I've heard that with some folks it a non issue, but for me it makes a big difference. So, the combination of a light, clean SA trigger pull combined with a low bore axis is the most accurate combination for me.
  17. BTW That's his wife in real life. We could do a lot worse than Haslam, but we could also do a lot better. I won't cry if he gets elected. Nor will I celebrate. I get the impression he is a died in the wool politician and that comes from knowing him personally some years ago.
  18. Essential the same thing as the Walther P99 just not as refined. The trigger is also not as good as the Walther models and is probably the DAO (the worst of the options) or the standard AS variant. If you like the trigger it is a good deal. Mags are a bit pricey if you can find them.
  19. This is the Jimmy Carter of the gun world. The Mendoza line of pistols. You can only go up from here!
  20. No the wife was fired, but delivered threats on behalf of her husband who has an HCP. If that makes sense. Not the first time it has happened and I'm not really worried about it, just got me thinking. The e-mail that was passed down simply stated the scenario and then added that he had an HCP and was known to carry a gun but never on the premises or in our building. It carried with it a sense of extreme heightened fear due to the HCP. Of course if they knew all the folks that were armed in this building they would probably be just as concerned and fearful.
  21. Sort of. The fact the husband has an HCP only indicates that he may be armed if he does show up to back up his verbal threats. I thought maybe using the fact he could loose his HCP could be used as extra leverage to help him calm down a bit more. I guess it's all mute unless a restraining order is granted, which this particular law firm could get easily if the desire. i was more curious about how threats in general can affect HCP privileges.
  22. I can't stand Apple. They built their company on being anti the evil Microsoft and their cornering and holding the market hostage and turns out THEY are worse than Microsoft. Not to mention the Mac snobs. I think Christopher Guest nailed the Mac snobbery with the couple in "Best of Show". I'll take just about any alternative to Mac. Probably why i don't like Glock either!
  23. Thing is he threatened a big time law firm. Not the brightest guy . I'm sure they know the right channels, I was just curious for my own information for future reference.
