  1. For the record, I'm the one without the hat.
  2. I think it is safe to say going head to head with Bill (Rabbi) would be entertaining for everyone! Throwing gang signs and fo fives out our chromed High Points at each other would be sweet! LOL!
  3. I'm just tired of seeing people talk about me and then realizing they aren't talking to me! (My names Nathan as well, Nathan)
  4. After my initial WOW, i gotta do another WOW! This thread has exploded all over the place. Personally, I can't see how having more quality gun stores in the area is a bad thing. Unless you are the Wally World of gun stores I would think it would be a boon to have a greater variety and options that folks can use to justify shopping or even making a trip. You're average gun guy doesn't just go to one store and then home. Usually they will hit all the stores on their way to or from the farthest store or go to all the ones in a general area. As long as they are decent places, it should increase traffic. In creased traffic mean increased sales for everyone. It changes a niche market to a volume market. The mind set goes from just looking to which one to buy. Every store wants to be the monopoly, but it is generally better for the market if there are several strong competitors in an area to drive more traffic. The more traffic that is driven the more casual buyers you will have and that is where the money is. Salesmen who only look for the big sale will starve between big paychecks right before they have a career change. The guy who makes all the little sales will make a consistent, steady, and good living.
  5. Yes, but not without costing more time, effort, and money than what buying it new cost.
  6. Sounds like it may be the Yugo surplus stuff. If it is, it is corrosive. Just something to keep in mind. Strike that. Yugo is brass. I missed that part.
  7. From what I've heard this was cleared with the administration. However, I don't think thread dumping either personal or professional has yet to be cleared from the COC.
  8. Happened by the new place today and I was impressed with the store front and layout. Mind you it's still under construction. Looks like it is going to be a very nice shop. Not to mention Las Palmas is right next door! You can't get better than Las Palmas and a gun store in one spot! Perfect! As far as the other comments ....... WOWx3
  9. The teeth are all natural, although we are from Arkansas! She love holding them the AR and especially the AK. Dollar a piece. They are very proud of those holes.
  10. Took my oldest two with me to the range today (Charlie Haffner's). Daughter is 7 and son is 5. What a treat for me! Reminds me why I had kids. They go back to school tomorrow and I had promised I would take them before school started and inevitably things kept coming up, so today was the day. First it was nice ..... when the breeze would blow but it was HOT. Tried them out on the Marlin 60 my brother had lent me but it was just too long and the iron sights were difficult for them to learn. Switched to the new POF416 with a CMMG .22 conversion bolt and they had a blast! It was great to be able to adjust the stock to fit them and the grip was perfect for their little hands. Seems like I've found some shooting buddies. However, It was the hardest I've ever worked at the range. I'll probably pick up some more .22 mags (only had one) the next time to keep the down time to a minimum. I can also see a good .22 pistol in the future. We weren't trying for accuracy just trying to get them used to the whole process. They still did pretty good IMO. Got about 100 rnds of .22 down range and they let me shoot one mag of 5.56. Here's some pics. PS: There are some holes in the Raccoon.
  11. I've only read positive reviews of them. For the money, I would personally get a .223 upper or one of the S&W M&P AR's that CDNN is selling for $599.
  12. I think this sums his "piece" up nicely. These are the same people who think it is a good thing to rack up 100k in student loans for a 40K job. If you don't produce more than you use you can not be sustained. That is true for all levels.

    POF-USA?

    Everything has it's season
  14. Here's a great quote from the "comments":

    POF-USA?

Yeah it definitely needs rail covers. It's not the MMR version. Guy i got it from said he had bought it from POF a year ago and it has the older FH. Can you change barrels on them your self or is it something that has to be done at the factory? Will they take standard AR barrels? I know everything is user removable, but I couldn't find info on whether the gas port is a standard AR port or different for the POF system. I'd really like a 6.8 barrel! BTW - you're .308 is SWEET!
  16. Now don't go ningy chopping nobody that don't need ningy chopping. Haha!
  17. So you're voting for McWherter. Genius! I'm not thrilled with Haslam even though I have some family connections. He's too much of a politician, a Republican Bredesen IMO. That being said, he is far and away a better choice than McWherter.
  18. Nah, he went to the mothership with Louis Farrakhan.

    POF-USA?

Due to recent home repair issues I listed my MSAR STG556 with an E4 stock for sale. Got an interesting offer for a fairly new (300 rnds) POF-USA 416 upper on a Double Star lower that included a CMMG .22 conversion bolt and mag. Well, I traded figuring I could sale or part out the POF easier and for more than I could have with the STG. Picked it up Friday and I gotta say I'm impressed with the POF. Thing is well made and the concept seems really solid. I've read a little about them, but wanted to hear feedback from folks who might own one or have tips or tricks to maximize the platform. Any hints on .22 ammo for the conversion? being that insurance came back surprisingly higher than expected I may keep this one. Although I am going to miss the MSAR. Here is a picture (not my picture)
  20. POF 16" upper DS lower .... 7.8 lbs empty and no optic.
  21. Those who try to break even on upgrades will usually find the road difficult. Those you pretty much eat the cost on unless they are something specifically in demand or special. Much like anything else you sell used.
  22. Tru-glo TFO's are by far the best thing out there. They are fiber optic and tritium. They are super bright during the day and night. If you get the contrasting colors, they are even easier to pick up.
  23. You mean Oregano Marceaux?
  24. An Uzi carbine is a lot of fun, accurate, and shoots 9mm. IMI's or Vectors's will run around 1k, but you can find Norinco clones for $450-$600. I had one (Norinco) and it was a great carbine that made an excellent HD gun. Plus if you ever get the itch you can get it SBR'd and have a great compact fun/defense weapon. Just a thought.
  25. Well, they can't ask anything. Can't ask about immigration status.
