It's pretty expensive for what it is. I would probably go with a PWS for that price. However, I do like the compactness of the BC.

I know this is kinda of a joke thread, but I like this info:

Obama throws support behind controversial Islamic center

JayC, you win arguments based on truth and logic, not semantics. However semantics keeps them swirling in the toilet bowl far too long. But since you have trouble with context and smilies, my comment you referenced was a tongue in cheek jab at HvyMtl. -

Yeah, I know you like to play devils advocate. BTW - I don't hate Muslims. I do a lot of work with them, but I do hate Islam. Not because I don't understand it, but quite the opposite. I hate it for the same reasons I hate socialism, communism, racism, Nazism, and bullys to name a few. It is a fool who continues to give acceptance and openness to the things that would destroy what is right and decent. I have the same tolerance for those who would enslave me as i do for the rapist who breaks into my daughters room. Tolerance is the tool of fools and slaves. I have studied and read their information and talked with countless Muslims from and in different parts of the world. From Africa, America, England, UAE, and even Brazil for example BTW- I have the same intolernace as a Pastor for those who would misuse and abuse the scritpures in the same way. I see no difference in application, only relevance and scope. Again this is not a freedom of religion issue. Anyone who thinks it is will be sorely mistaken. Islam has done a great job of putting on the sheep cloth to get the wolves in the pen. -

You seem to enjoy finding some crackpot that supports the majority and claiming that makes it all conspiracy and irrelevant irrational fear of something different. As far as some of the rest of you guys, I'm starting to think Kwik has been able to infiltrate the board with other user names. These slippery slope and letter of the law arguments only hold water in the same liberal activist courts you so correctly malign. INTENT of the law is more important than the letter of the law. Intent is what translates over time and makes laws applicable and relevant to today. If you guys applied you're same letter of the law arguements to 2A, you would be siding with all the liberal socialist who think only "militia members" can have weapons for national defense. Do you not see the inconsistency? -
Did you clean it really good? I ask because sometimes the packing grease that is used will have a rust color to it when it mixes with some cleaners. It may be where a little of that has collected there.

These things are relative and subjective to the gun, the shooter, the grip, the ammo etc. When people say it is snappy it is in relation to the .45's described "push" and the 9mm's lighter recoil. In general most people find the .40 to have a snappier feel. It's the nature of the cartridge itself.

Close to a stroke, but in high school me and my brother had a lawn buisness and we had a case of "severe heat exhaustion" one day. It was 110 deg in the shade one afternoon in Memphis ('94). Towards the end of the day I stopped sweating and was getting very chilled. Started shaking due to being cold. We had hosed ourselves down every chance we could get and drank Gatorade and water till we couldn't drink anymore. When we finally made it home late that afternoon we both slept for 42+hours straight. My mom said several nurses and doctors from our church had come by and said we were lucky we didn't have strokes or worse. Said our core temperatures were dangerously high and should be at the hospital but that it was probably safer if we stayed sleeping unless we had other stroke type symptoms. To this day my body temperature is abnormally low and I get hot and sweat if the temp gets above 70 deg. Doctors said it probably permanently damaged my inner thermometer. We do come by it honestly though. My dad had to take potassium pills anytime he worked outside and had to be careful to watch his temperature.

I thought it a bit ironic and sad the guy who won was also the guy who can't have firearms. The plate competition was awesome. Especially to watch the first guy make it look so easy and the other guys competing.

Yeah, well ... they still thank they are making money when they spend that dollar and get change back!

Late to the party. I watched the finale last night and it was pretty good. Enjoyed the episodes i saw and was amazed at what some of those folks could do cold turkey with platforms they weren't accustomed to.

If that much trigger "exposure" can catch and fire the gun, you have other bigger issues. There are plenty of holsters and carry options that will meet your requirements.
-
Man you guys got guts. Those look really good.

Actually FN makes those FOR Browning and Winchester.
-
FN is one of the premium manufactures. Made all of Brownings stuff for a while and still makes quite a bit of their stuff. A lot of the machine guns our military uses are FN products. That being said I had an FNP9 and loved it. Only reason i sold it was that I wanted a SA gun. I will be getting one of the FNX9 for my EDC as soon as money permits. FN also makes all of their US sold guns right here in the US.

The .40 was an answer to a question no one asked.. Much like the .45 GAP. It lost nearly all of it's benefits over the 9mm and .45 when they shortened the 10mm. While larger than the 9mm it doesn't have the benefits of the .45 and yet while smaller than the .45 doesn't have the benefits of the 9mm. Not that it is an enferior round but it doesn't offer any advantages the others don't already provide and it does this at the cost of more recoil and being inherently less accurate. Many people like it and it will continue to be a viable choice simply because people buy the bigger is better propaganda and see it a good compromise between 9mm and .45.

Uh close, but way off. American law IS rooted heavily in Judeo-Christian ethics, beliefs, and practices. The idea you can separate one's beliefs and politics is naive. They are one in the same. If a person doesn't live by what thy believe then they don't really believe it. Our system of law has a very clear influence on life liberty and freedom. Sharia law also has a very clear influence. I'll take ours anytime and will fight against any semblance of Sharia any day. Even if you claim agnosticism or atheism, logically you would champion Judeo-Christian law. Anything else would have you killed. Think about it. Besides, the original intent of the Constitution was never to ban religion from politics but rather limit governments role IN religion. In fact it is very clear that the original intent was a heavy influence in Judeo-Christian values as the guiding principle in interpretation. The more we loose that concept, the more we will loose the Constitution. This is essentially the liberal strategy.

JayC that same "logic" is used against Christians all over. Banning prayer in school, ten commandment displays ect. while having school kids role playing muslims or other cultural religious ceramonies as cultural plurality. Seperate muslim prayer rooms in the same places bibles andprayer are not allowed. But all that is not the issue here. Arguing simple constitutionality and freedoms in this case is a kwik arguement. Make no mistake. What is happeneing is an attempt to use this as a radical Islamic anti-american propaganda statement not unlike the original bombings. One the other side we have Americans grossly over simplyfing the letter of the law while completley missing original intent in an attempt to "win the hearts and minds" of the avowed enemy. Do we not learn from our recent past? -
CZ75, CZ85, browning/FN Hipower or the FNX. I really like the FNX as a good cobination of old and new.
-
Quite the eclectic collection. How do you like that Calico?

If you are wanting cheap ammo, get a .22 bolt conversion or upper. All the 5.45 coming in these days is corrosive and with maintenance heavy AR's it just seems more work than it's worth for the small savings in ammo price. However, 7.62x39 is comparatively priced and actually gives a performance advantage (ala larger caliber) in certain aspects.

That's about the nicest looking Wasr I've seen. Good job on the wood!
