  1. Yes, except the Bible is true. It is our understanding that is catching up and developing to comprehend. How is that different than science? We believe until we have evidence to the contrary then we change the model to fit our understanding.
  2. What if your beliefs end up lining up with said "mega church". Are you not a free thinker? Is a free thinker a person who only believes something contrary to others? How exactly would that bring things together more? I do understand where the sentiment comes from, however. There are many on both sides who believe only what they are told and do not search through those things to find truth. There are those who are against because of a reaction to something they can't understand and there are those who believe in things simply because they are too lazy to try and understand. Both are wrong.
  3. couple of problems. There are at least 4 Earth ages using Biblical text ranging from 10k years to roughly a few million. The debates on these are interpretations of "days" and a few other issues. You also have to consider the time between the creation out of the "void" and the first day of creation. There is no time indicated between theses events. Again a worldwide flood would account for all these issues as well as the carbon dating inconsistency and gaps current science can't rectify. As to OS and the geologist statement, they can't even get a consensus on dates of Niagara falls or the Grand Canyon. IN fact one recent study has found that Niagara Falls is actually 10k years younger than previously thought. Scientist are like politicians. Get ten of them in a room and you'll end up with a 10 front civil war. Just saying there are some unexplained issues with the flood, but the flood explains vastly more questions than it leaves unanswered. I might add that is scientific theory at work . To the guy talking about heated comments, I thought this was actually a pretty civil thread compared to Glock butt and 9mm vs .45
  4. How is that an issue? The flood would explain many things including fossils of sea life on mountains in the middle of Asia, oil deposits in deserts, earth age randomness, etc. However, if you reject that you have to come up with other theories that explain those points.
  5. Hello pot ....... That's my point. You can't make that claim without using that claim. It's a circular argument. Prove otherwise. You can't and in doing so you would again prove the point that they both take leaps of "faith". Not arguing with you, just making the point OS.
  6. Problem is both take an element in faith. Both can be tested only so far. The interesting thing to me is the more we learn in science the more the Bible holds it's own. That being said the Bible was not written as a book of scientific fact but rather as a narrative by people with a perspective that was not rooted in modern scientific or historical models. That's where a lot of the problems people have reconciling the two. It's like trying to read Huck Finn as a history text book. It gives some great insights into history, but the narrative of relationships, adventure, etc is the main focus. hawking has gone back and forth depending on what ever the new theory is and I have no problem with that. It is his field of study and discipline to do so. As far as timeliness, the Biblical model holds much more in the terms of accuracy and consistency than macro-evolution (barring those who hold to tradition instead of what the Bible actually says:rolleyes:). Macro evolution makes a series of assumptions early on in evolution that involves setting base timeliness arbitrarily long in order to make most of the theories work. Then they have to back trace and make adjustments from the present. All that to say both take relatively equal "leaps" of faith based on things unseen and unkown. Make your jump carefully ..... and not emotionally.
  7. I found pretty much the same things you have between the two brands. I do like the size of the 19, but the XD's trigger is better and can be improved quite a bit with some minor work. That being said I hate the grip angle of Glocks and the bore axis of the XD's is too high for me to shoot well so I have neither anymore.
  8. You definitely won't be going this weekend!

    Rate Obama

I do find it interesting that the same 6% voted "A" across the board.
  10. 6.8 SPC. Prices are coming down and it is what an AR should have been. The 6.5 is nice but there are other more mainstream platforms that do it better.
  11. Yeah, I was a big Salma fan before she was big time, but "Frida" almost ruined it for me.
  12. Here's some Salma for ya!
  13. Great quote! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UeOXsA8sp_E&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ll7rWiY5obI
  14. Not sure I see your point. There was a law against impersonating military service, which is what they ruled against.
  15. I like your reference markers! somebody eats out a lot!
  16. Rivergate prkwy. Merchandise has started coming in late last week and this weekend was spent getting it in the computer system. Great things are coming!
  17. If they uphold this then perjury has to be thrown out, lying to congress is out, impersonating an officer is out, fraud in general is out. This is not simple lying. It is falsely identifying oneself as a government agent to gain unwarranted benefit. That is simply known as fraud. Are they going to throw out all fraud law? I doubt it. This is a stupid political jab at the military that will add to their ridicule. 1a has nothing to do with this.
  18. +1 for the Primary Arms. They also carry the Vortex Strikefire and SPARC. I have the SPARC and really like it. The VOrtex have lifetime no questions asked warranties.
  19. Only in San Fran can up be down. Court of Appeals / Stolen Valor Act / A federal law against lying?
  20. Which technically you probably should get vendor status before advertising as a vendor. Welcome!
  21. My first handgun, a Jimenez .380. It was an impulse buy and when I got home and tried to take it apart I realized how soft the metal was and the thing just wouldn't work. I took it back an hour later and they let me trade it for an FEG PJK-9HP(great first gun!). Funny how even though I didn't have a clue about guns, I could tell that the Jimenez was seriously lacking in quality once I got on the inside.
  22. I would at least let him know your intentions privately since there is a relationship. I would then ask your questions publicly being clear that it is not personal. Sometimes we forget that we should be able to separate our political positions with our personal relationships. If he can't he has no business in politics.
  23. Now that's just funny right there! I usually just have the one 17+1 in the gun. I do keep a couple spares in my murse (Maxpedition Jumbo), but that usually stays in the car. My thinking is to use my EDC to get back to my vehicle and use the other 2 mags till Mike gets there.
  24. That's a heck of a knife. I'm scared to even know what that thing cost! Beautiful.
  25. Tesla would be ahead of his time today. He was thinking and building things then that we are just now catcing up to.
