    SR9 Range Report!

Wayne the Compact's are the "Gen 4" of the SR9. The full size was the guinea pig and it appears all the quirks have been worked out.

    SR9 Range Report!

Definitley feels like something that will smooth out, but I don't think it will get where I want it without the Ghost mod. I will say that of all the SR9c's I've tried, their triggers are much better than the full size. Supposedly they are the same but the compacts have always been better OTB.
  3. Well, finally got to the range to try out the SR9 and I indeed like this gun. Accuracy at all ranges was excellent. Ran 250+ rounds of mixed Speer Lawman 115g, Wolf 115g, Federal HST 124g+p, and Blue Bunny 124g +p+. No problems at all. Everything feed great and there were no malfunctions of any kind. Sights are very easy to pick up and even though they are adjustable, they were spot on. The trigger was OK. Reset was minimal and break was clean but hard. There is a little take up and then a hard break with creep. There is a noticeable click when the trigger reset which is good, but it almost hangs right before the reset. Similar to the pull. Kinda like a hard Glock trigger. I will definitely be adding the Ghost trigger mod. With a lightened trigger I think I will really like this gun as long as it doesn't get mushy. It needs more breaking in and I'm looking forward to giving it what it needs.
  4. There's stacks of all kinds of targets in the little building about midway down the range. There is also extra hearing and eye protection.
  5. Don't know about the private side, but the main range is laid out fairly simply. Everything is under roof with benches for the 100 yrd side and smaller becnhs for the rest of the range. There are fixed target stands and everything is provided. Half the range is 25 yrds with the 50 behind it and the other half is 100 yrd. Targets (lots and varied), staplers, range scopes, rest, ect are all provided. Granted they aren't the best but they are provided and workable. Charlie even brings a cooler out and puts bottled water in it during the hot days. Great place.
  6. I like putting the Blackhawk /Knoxx Spec Ops stocks on mine. Takes 85-95% of the felt recoil out and is adjustable. Both things are great, especially for women and those who want to practice without bruising themselves. SpecOps Adjustable Shotgun Stock - BLACKHAWK!
  7. D&T Arms just got some SR40's in and they are well below the prices above.
  8. Well, they arrived. SR40 duo-tone in all it's glory! D&T Arms.
  9. Here are my latest completed .... well, mostly. Saiga converted AK. I'll probably end up with the Ace stock. Just wanted to try something different. I'm also waiting on TWS to release his scope mount rail to complete the rifle. It was also my first attempt at paracord wrap. Need some more practice on that. Here is the semi finished AR. The scope and mounts are make do's for the moment. Haven't decided what I want up there permanently yet. Spikes mid-length 1:7 upper, DS lower (may change), YHM Spectre Diamond HG, YHM lo-pro GB, YHM 5C2 FH, and Magpul for the rest.
  10. Don't know about that but D&T's got one coming either by Friday or early next week. The two-tone SR40. I really like the SR9 so I can't wait to see the 40 for comparison.
  11. Good deal. BTW D&T Arms in Goodletsville keeps thm in stock.

  13. D&T is in fact a stocking dealer for Crossbreed. We have several available ATM. Although we ran through our first shipment pretty quick, David tripled the second order and they should be here next week. Glad you enjoy it Spoolie and glad you guys didn't have to fight over it!
  14. To use the internal block adapter from Ace you have to cut off the rear tang on the Saiga. It isn't too difficult, other than the fact the metal is very hard. Here is a picture to give you an idea. The rear tang I'm talking about is in the right side of the picture.
  15. While practically true you are supposed to pay tax on anything bought, even from an individual.

    Dangerous Dogs

Yes, some Pits are raised for fighting, more than most, but there is a reason for that. Pits may not bite more than other breeds but when they do there is usually massive damage or death. Add to that they do bite a lot and it is a recipe for disaster.
  17. I'll do my best to be there with my wife. I've got 3 guns I haven't got to shoot yet and I need to put them through their paces!

    Denied Purchase

I just recently had a lady denied when I ran the check and we faxed the appeal. A couple hours later the TICS screen suddenly had her approved and didn't show that a denial had been issued. Needless to say the boss called and they said it should have been delayed due to waiting on another agency. Weird. I also know another guy who got denied because of a traffic violation from 10 years prior where the paperwork where the court had dismissed it never got filed. It got cleared on appeal within the 15 day limit. With all the identity fraud going on these days I expect to see this more frequently. While not a firearm purchase, once my mom had to go down to the jail in Memphis for about 4 hours in cuffs, while they determined the many warrants in her name where not actually her. Turns out in Memphis there were a lot of Sharon Smith's with a lot of warrants. funny thing is my mom is about as straight laced, squeaky clean, preachers wife as they come. LOL
  19. I'll play. I'm Nathan and this is me and my family.
  20. I get to look at them everyday! They are built to shoot and are absolutely beautiful. I also know where a even nicer Chad Kandros Custom Commander resides ... right next to these two beauties! Chad does incredible work.

    Lay-a-way Plan

D&T Arms in Goodletsville does layaway and since someone asked about terms, it's 60 days with half-down. There are no fees or interest as long as it's completed within the 90 days. There is a 25% re-stocking fee for canceled layaways. It is actually a pretty popular plan for folks around here. A lot of folks have been reserving their Christmas presents this way.
  22. I agree with his philosophy but find it somewhat misplaced in regard to the Glock. If anything the Glock is the most Hollywood gun of them all!
  23. Like this? It's in German but you will get the picture. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyq90LEZe4k
