  1. Recoil on the Saiga is minimal as far as shotguns go. Most of the recoil is absorbed in the piston. The CZ is interesting if it is just sitting in the closet and not getting shot much. If you go the pump route or semi in a Mossberg or Remington then the Spec-Ops stock is a must have for the miss.
  2. Whatever you get will be fine IF it has 1:11 4 groove rifling and SPCII chamber. The newest Stags use the proper barrel but many out there (even new ones) will have the older less desirable 1:10 rifling. So pay attention with Stag. +1 on AR Perfomance 6.8 SPCII SS Hunter Upper. Cardinal Armory (formerly Ko-Tonics) http://cardinalarmory.com/ was the man in the industry early on when everyone was still using the wrong twist and rifling. He's back in business and would be an excellent source. Bison Armory is also a good source for a custom built upper for a decent price. Bison Armory - Upper Store
  3. The Giles does use a QD on the shoulder loop. Snaps off and on very quickly.
  4. I'm a big fan of the Wilderness Tactical Giles sling. All the benefits of a single point with out the negatives. It's quiet, comfortable, quick on off, carries high or you can place it anywhere on you upper body (ie side, back, front) for hands free work and quickly transition right back on. Not expensive either. Plus you just need a normal two point attachment. The video is a little slow but the good stuff starts at about 1:30 AR 15 Rifle Sling, M 16 Rifle Slings
  5. Guy brought it in, but couldn't decide if he wanted to sell it or not. He came back! It is a really interesting piece of history.
  6. I know where a beautiful 1897 in original blue resides! I really like that gun and was glad to see it come back. I too would like to hear the experts chime in with any other info not found on Wikipedia

    Transfer fees

Background and transfer are done at your local shop. The store you bought from takes care of the sales end. However, there are some shops I've heard of that try to charge sales tax and other fees. Just an FYI, By law you can run up to 5 guns on one background check, given they are transfered at the same time and to the same person.
  8. Chad Kandros is the gunsmith for a few shops around Nashville and does excellent work. Nashville Gunsmith, Hendersonville Gunsmith - Kandros Custom Gunworks or you can bring it by the shop (D&T Arms) and he will get from there.

    S&W Bodyguard .380

Smith dropped MSRP on these little gems by $200! Great for buyers, sucks for dealers who bought them at ABOVE the new MSRP! Thanks Smith!
  10. If you had the SR9 I would have picked it!
  11. Very nice! I like those grips.
  12. I have a M&P9 coming to the store next week that will be my new carry. I tried others, but I'm coming back to the M&P. Glad you like the .45 David and sorry I missed you when you picked it up. Guys told me I missed you by about 5 min. Enjoy!
  13. The only palatable way I've had was my Grandmother's squirel and dumplings, but even that is hard to eat. I guess my taste are just skewed, but I don't like it at all. Squirel is a last resort for me.
  14. After thinking about it I think the only way to do this is to simply have an "Ask the Experts" forum and have the mods be the "experts". It would translate to the rest of the forum and be something for reference without having some supermod/"expert" being the "final" authority on something that is very opinionated in general threads. The only way the first proposal would work is to have a general consensus among the "experts" and I don't see that going well. Add to it that TGO David would be the one deciding who is and who isn't an "Expert" in certain fields and that would not end well for David IMO. Of course I'm no expert on this subject.
  15. I like the concept. The inplimentation might be difficult with verification, but i do like where it is going. Most of the real experts i know don't like to be known for their credentials. Seems humilitary and wisdom go hand in hand. Then there are the guys who are "experts" but are also blowhards and while they may have credentials their teaching and information isn't worth much. That's the difficulty I see in that.
  16. Yeah Glenn, you would be great for this!
  17. BTW - It goes to the local PD and ATF and it is already in effect. Towerclimber, good to see you back. Started thinking you had fallen off one of those towers!
  18. PM gunrunner32. If he's in the country he does it and does it well.
  19. Interesting, since most of the reviews of people that own them are different than yours. http://www.ktog.org/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?board=499
  20. It's a non-issue to have an old address on your HCP as long as the current one is on your DL and is updated in their system. It states that on the DMV's website FYI.
  21. No. They are immune from legal actions for legislative work.
