I don't know exactly what flags TICS, but almost all the denials we get usually involve misdemeanor assaults. At least according to what people tell us. They could be misrepresenting the charges, but it makes sense that any kind of assault, even on the juvenile record would be a denial. Could you imagine being the TBI official who has to explain in court why he approved a gun sale to a person with an assault on their record who was later involved in a larger crime?
-
Because of an assault on his record. The only way I could see that getting through TICS is with an expungement and even then he will still probably have to appeal denials. From his previous statements, I can't see anyway he has enough money to push an expungement or further legal maneuvers all the way through to the federal level. I'm sorry if I has hard on the OP, but the lesson needs to be learned that there are SERIOUS consequences to how one acts. The government and the law has very little mercy for "heat of the moment" actions. There are a lot of people who have reacted in the heat of the moment that never intended to kill or harm someone else yet it happens. Gun owners are held to a higher standard since they carry a larger responsibility. We know the rules. We have agreed to play by them. Whether they are Constitutional or not is irrelevant. Until the laws are changed that is the agreement we have chosen to live by.

The scenario was the one you painted. In a court of law or, any time in the future when they look at the paperwork, they will not care to sit down with you as you explain why the charges aren't as bad as they seem. Legally you will not be able to buy a firearm in the future in any case and that will not change. That's just the way it is. There are consequences for YOUR actions and when you got your HCP that should have been covered and listened to. There are cases where HCP holders are unfairly charged or have the law applied incorrectly. This is not one of those. If you want more legally advice in this arena you need to consult Leonard Embody.

So you brandished a gun during a verbal altercation, drove drunk, and agreed to the charges to have them reduced. Now you want all the consequences legally dropped. Interesting.... I'm thinking you are the very kind of person with poor judgment we DON'T want with permits. Also, you plea bargained the charges down and now want MORE "due process"? You get it once. Not twice. I'm thinking you should be thanking God they dropped the original charges and reduced the ones they carried.

Academy Sports conflicts themselves on their own door

After reading this thread maybe there are some people who shouldn't... carry for any reason. Seems like I had a similar arguemnt with my 7 yr old over bedtime last night. -
Yeah, their site is one of the worst. Incredibly slow and you have to wait for their splash ads to clear before you can look for anything.

I'm really enjoying my Vstar 650 Classic right now, but i definitely see getting something a bit bigger for some longer trips with the wife. The 950 is one I'm looking at. If that's the same 950 they had at AMS on 8th then I sat on that thing this AM. Beautiful bike!

Jeff you are right. The front end work requires a big hydraulic press and other simple but special tools. However, it isn't really necessary. There are some adapters and other ways around the big tools, but IMO they don't look very good for the money you will have in it. That being said, Saiga's are still the BEST Ak you can get whether the front end is converted or not. I always did the conversion myself and then had Red Jacket convert the front end. He used to do it for $100 (I provided the parts).

We've (D&T Arms) sold a bunch of .458 SOCOM's and keep ammo for it in stock. If you are going the big bore route the 458 is the ticket. Rock River makes a production upper and stock parts, which is a big plus since the other options , ex. 50 Beowulf, are very hard to find. Personally I'm with Magic and the idea of a 6.5 really intrigues me. It does everything the .223 does except it does it a whole lot better and I like that Wolf makes ammo for it (cheaper target stuff).

Yeah, they aren't good about info. I have Cobra's on my 650 Classic and I like them. They are a little "slappy" at speed but part of that is the high rev engine. I'm told the V&H's are they way to go.

American Classic (Metro Arms) has one and D&T Arms has it! Minus the FO front sight.

Reread my reply. I said believe what you will about Jesus claims, but as a whole the historical veracity of the scriptures is not disputable. However, To assume that within the accuracy of the whole is a segment completely in contradiction to the greater body of work as pure fantasy is not the most scholarly approach to historical writing credibility.
-
Are you serious or ignorant? There are numerous historical writings, many by historians during the time that accounted and validate many of the Biblical accounts of events. Not to mention the ever growing archeological findings that grow every year. Believe what you want about Christ claims but the veracity and historical accuracy of the majority of Biblical accounts are not in dispute. Not to mention it is the most sourced and oldest historical writing in antiquity.

You know me far too well! However, I'm going to be keeping this one. Can''t wait to shoot it.

The benefits of working in a gun store! Got a killer deal on a Saiga .308 V21. These baby's are HARD to find and especially for the price Dave (GMC Retired) gave me. Came with four 25 rnd Surefire mags. It also had a cheap Simmons 8 Point scope on it, but I'll probably go anther route. The wood is actually pretty nice. The V21 has the Vepr cut on the back of the receiver, standard AK trigger configuration (no conversion necessary), and uses the heavier RPK receiver. :D:D:D:D

You're almost as bad as the elitist liberals telling us what to think. Quite worrying about the fact that not everyone else is as enlightened as you and can't think for themselves like you do so well. Taking no side and complaining about those that do, is as ignorant as taking the wrong side.

At least you aren't looking for difficult to find guns!

After seeing things you only see in stereotypes of "southern racism" of the 50's on display in modern Idaha, Oreagon, Washington (state), Illionois (Chicago) and New York I fully realize the south is the least racist place in the US.

Whne I had my motorcycle wreck I todl them I had my gun in my bag and the officer asked if I wanted to take it with me or if I wanted him to take it. He said it would be a lot easier for me to take it with me to the hospital and the paramedics said it wasn't any big deal for it to ride in the ambulance. To be honest it was a lot easier than I thought it would be.

Chad does great work. Nice gun DMark!

On the AK front you can't go wrong with an Arsenal. As far as shotguns go, check out the Remington 887 Nitro Mag. Been playing with it in the store the last few days and it is NICE!

The M&P15OR is just a basic flat top AR. They are all "optics ready".
-
I've been really impressed with the S&W M&P's that have come through the store. They really seem to stand out compared to the others I've seen.

It is here as well and I hope no one will openly and voluntarily admit to committing a crime on an open forum. That being said, the rule of thumb is this: If the circumstances are such you need to draw your weapon, more than likely a bullet needs to be coming out of the end of it. Otherwise it needs to stay holstered till the threat justifies drawing it.
-
I have a hard time believeing that. Their website doesn't list any gun from S&W and that is below wholesale by quite a bit. I could see that on used guns or special LE pricing, but not everyday pricing. S&W does have a Military/LE program going that could get it to that point, but nothing else I've ever seen. I'd like to see how you found those prices. If it's true you should grab them up and resale them.
