  1. Range report. Wow does this stock feel good. i set up the targets at 100 thinking I may have to sight in seeing I changed stocks. I set my Zero back to what it was the last time it was connected to the HS Precision LTR stock I sold. I had loaded a few rounds to take to the range so I fired the first shot, Pretty much dead on. I shot 4 more rounds and the group ended up being .62 (5 shot group) I followed this group with a .55 (4 shot) and a .28 (3 shot) group(168's on this 3). i ended the day with a 9 shot group that measured 1.1" Not to bad for shooting this stock for the first time. The smooth feel of the shots, it is just one of those that you have to shoot to understand. To some it up... I love it!!!!!!
  2. Thanks for all the compliments fellas....
  3. Thanks for the info Chris.
  4. Does anyone have a scope lapping kit they will let me rent or borrow. I really do not want to pay the $99.00 price tag but would be willing to pay someone $20.00 to borrow theirs. I have 1" rings...
  5. 15x is to short, what... I plan to shoot 1000 and beyond with a 10x man.... i am still young enough , I have good eyes...Also I do not plan on shooting at golf balls at 1000.... LOL I am really leaning toward the Leupold scopes right now. But it will be a little while so I can do plenty of research first. maybe I will go and check some of the scopes out or someone will just offer to sell me theirs... say for a pack of gum?
  6. Thanks Froggy but that scope is not what I am looking for. Looks like a good scope though.
  7. I am looking at several options for glass. NF, US Optics, and Leupold are in the running against each other right now...LOL I really like the S&B, and the other Cadillacs but wow are they $$$$$$
  8. I agree about the glass, I wanted to make sure i liked the mildot and shooting the gun... I will be getting new glass and rings and a new base but have to wait till i can afford it. As far as the knob, been thinking the same thing.
  9. Here is my Remington 700 SPS Tactical .308 20" barreled action sitting in a Mcmillan A-5. the A-5 is 75% OD 25% Black, Non ADJ, SA, VB channel, 1 bipod stud, 3 flush cups. I have a 0 MOA 1 piece month with Burris Rings and a Bushnell Elite 3200 10x Mil Dot scope ( to be upgraded next). On the front there is a Harris 6-9, notched leg, swivel pod and a Tac Ops (OD) stock pack in the rear.
  10. I will ship them asap
  11. I have 2 sniper books up for grabs. The condition is you have to pass them on!!! Shooter: Autobiography of Gunny SGT. Jack Coughlin USMC Trigger Men: by Hans Halberstadt
  12. I also use the Lee Loader and I like it. Allows me to load without a giant work station set up. I load for my .308 and get pretty darn good groups. It can be tuff getting the load just right though. I was going to do this for my 9mm, but for 10.00 for the 50 I get, it is just to much time involved for the savings of maybe 1.50 for 50 loads. I do have to get a press to load for my .35 Remington so, i may get to try the hand loader here really soon.
  13. I actually measured these groups wrong... I re measured them by measuring the outside and subtracting bullet size. The first group in the picture is actually .17" and the second is .14"

    My Next project

I am shooting for Saturday too...
  15. Alrighty then... My best two 3 shot groups at 100 yards.. Both .19" and all shots for the day were under 1 moa. I tried a new load. I was given 100 Hornady 150 GR BTSP bullets and loaded them up with 42 grains of IMR 4064. I had a OAL of 2.76" . My gun really , really liked them. Better then the 168 matchkings for sure. Yeah I know, pics right. This was taken with the iphone sorry for the quality.
  16. Cool, I am glad to see it was shot from a pod... Those groups are awesome from a pod!!! I guess I was asking if it was from one of those bench rest contraptions... great shooting for sure! I am also shooting from a pod and using a sock full of rice in the rear. I am holding the rice in my left hand fist.
  17. Well Like a dumb dumb I changed stocks to see if Would like another better and the groups are just not the ssme.. Looks like I have to shoot with the old stock again next weekend to see what I can do with 5 shots! If i am back to the tighter groups the new stock will be up for sale. By the way that is an awesome 10 shot group!! Shot on a bench?
  18. Thanks guys!!
  19. Thanks for the uplifting post. I am not bragging, I was proud of my success thus far... I do agree that a 5 to 10 shot group shows more consistancy. I just worry about the heat of the barrel. I do like to shoot 5 shot groups though. Thanks for all the other posts, A guy likes a pat on the back every once in a while!
  20. I was getting a Mcmillan then life happened and I had to back out. I then got a call this week and picked the HS precision stock up for $150 new... could not pass it up!!!
  21. Thanks guys..... Like I said, that group made me pretty happy. I need to get my 5 shot group that tight. I just ordered a new stock for my rifle so we will see if that was a good choice or not. (HS Pecision Urban Police) (On the LTR)
  22. A Bushnell Elite 10X, Gotta save for the good stuff. The scope is not bad though for the price. It holds zero pretty well. As you can see the windage was a little off though. That was not the scope that was me. i should have dialed in one more click (1/4 minute)
  23. Sorry about the quality....
  24. I did not post a picture, Do you need to see one?
  25. I shot a 3 round group of .21 " (center to center) @ 200 yards today. ( Yes, this is my current best) I loaded a 168 SMK with 42 grains of IMR 4064 in LC brass and a LR Win Primer. I was also shooting a single shot dot exersize at 200 and was able to hit all 2" dots in the 1" center circle except the cold bore which was on the edge of the 2" dot. To say the least I was happy. Rifle: Rem 700 SPS tactical off bipod.
