I lucked up on a US Property 40XB about a month and a half ago and headed to the range that weekend. Well, I am a single dad since we lost my wife a few years back to Cancer (not looking for any comments, just explaining the single dad comment) so she always goes to the range with me. I demonstrated that due to the weight the gun had no recoil whatsoever, she decided she wanted to try it ( I was like, yes, finally after 4 years of going to the range with me she is interested). It was love at first shot! She would not even let me shoot she was just so happy seeing the hits one the target. Well, like a good dad I started to look for another 40x. I found one and after some careful thought (yeah right) I snatched it up. I also went ahead and grabbed a Leupold target scope for hers. To make a long story short, she is smoking me out there at the range now! I am having her shoot from a sled as the rifle is very heavy and I am trying to think of a way to get a bipod mounted on hers. Well today we hit the range (spring break). We had bought a spinner for her to shoot and so we set it up at about 25 yards for her. As usual she is hitting dead center shot after shot. I had to get in on some of the spinner action and encouraged her to move it out some. We moved it to about 35 and she again spun in with no issues. I said, lets move it to 50, she agreed..( she was hesitant because the last time we shot I dominated at the 50 yard mark while she beat me at 100...) We continued to shoot, spinning that little target. Well needless to say, I got bored and said, hey Rach, watch this. They have a 3 foot steel silhouette at 200yards. I held the head right at the bottom of the inside circle of my sight (front is an Olympic sight) and it was a hit. I of course was thrilled but then she said ok, I am gonna try. I told her where to hold and she nailed it first shot. So we shot at the 200y steel for a bit until I said, I am going to try for 300y. Well I held my target (2 foot square steel plate) at the bottom circle of my sight and " ding" hit. I then told her where to hold after I confirmed my hits and "ding" she hits first shot. I tell ya, that is the best purchase I think I have made in a while!!! Sorry for the long story, hope it makes sense, just had to share as I am a very proud father!

I want to find someone to do some engraving and upgrades to my SW model 66-7. I want the barrel crowned and the cylinder chamfered. I would also like a trigger job and some engraving done. Any suggestions? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I was not in yet when they developed the gun. I was in during it's various uses though :-)

I have been a fan of the SOCOM MARK 23 for a number of years. The reasons are my own and I have never shot one before I bought it, I have only fondled one as much as I could!! Well 3 guns less and a few bucks and I have the most awesome .45 ACP pistol ever made. I had the HK 45 USP Tactical and shot 200 rounds through it and have to say that the recoil of this gun is unmatched. Whom ever says the Tactical is close to the MK23 is not telling you the whole truth. The gun does in fact have some items that are close to being the same however, this is a totally different gun all together. As they say, you have to shoot one!!! By the way, haha... no pics for you! Seriously, pics will be posted, just not right now...

A friend at work was selling this little pistol so I decided why not. I arrived home today and totally broke down the pistol and preceded to clean it well as it was in need of it. I like to do this anyway as it really allows me a better understanding of the workings of the gun. All back together and ready to be shot! Any pointers for me out there. I have never shot a BP gun before so this should be fun.

Its a 300 win mag.. 338 Lapua is to high! If I wanted to spend $7-$10 a shot I would have to go with he 50 BMG... LOL Price... you are not the first to say it...LOL
-
I did and it has just a tiny bit of recoil!!!

The folding stock is nice , you do not have to remoce the cheek piece to remove the bolt. That being said, I am pretty sre the same applies to the SA stock.

um... Not sure if I can.... Oh I will think of something... LOL Thanks fellas

My ultimate rifle thus far. I have been eyeing GA Precision rifles since I got into shooting and I just could not justify spending the cash. Well, I have come to the conclusion that justifying the spending of toys, it just does not happen so I wnt for it. I was at Franklin gun about a year ago or mnaybe less and spotted my dream rifle. I had to pass due to price but everuy time I was in there it kept wearing on me. I have constanly changed rifles around to make them better shooters and very comfy to shoot. Well i had a couple Remingtom 700 SA and they were set up, and they could shoot very well but the constant need for more power was out there. I got my .308 to the point where the recoil was pretty darn light. I could shoot a ragged hole all day long with the rifle. What was the next thing I did, I sold it off to upgrade to the GA precision you will see here. 1:11 twist fluted 25" barrel w/ .30 Caliber SPR Brake set up for an OPS INC Model 12 suppressor. The action is a trued Remington 700 LA 300 win mag. The scope rail is a Badger rail with 0 MOA. The bolt was replaced with an oversized Badger knob. The trigger seems to be a stock old style remington trigger with the wide ridged trigger set to aprox 1lb... sweet... The whole barreled action was duracoated in olive green. This is by far one of the smoothest actions I have ever cycled! The barreled action sits in an 2.0 folding AICS LA Olive green stock. The stock has a CADEX Accuracy International Fore-end Rail and is supported by an Atlas bipod. I have placed a set of Badger USMC M40A1 30mm scope rings holding the US Optics ST10 in place. I am gonna be in the market for a little higher ring for more comfort. Well here she is:

I feel the different cheek piece and the larger grip for your trigger hand really helped out. You are more than welcome to try before you buy if you wanna meet at the range some time.

Thanks, the stock took about a week. I bought it used from a guy on the hide.

I never answered this sorry.. Rifle is a Remington 700 in .308 Stock barrel and action. Stock: Mcmillan A4 w/ CDI bottom metal Scope: US Optics ST10 Rings: Badger USMC 30mm rings Rail: 20MOA Badger Pic rail Bipod: Atlas Badger oversized bolt knob

Ok , yeah a little more info would be helpful if you are not familiar with the setup. The A5 is a fully adjustable stock with a williams bottom metal that held 3 rounds comfortably. I like to shoot a 5 to 10 round group. I changed to the A4 which has a longer grip, a better eye position for me and the bottom metal is a CDI that takes AICS detachable mags (either 5 or 10 round).

45 lookers and no comments?

Before: A5 After: A4 I like the fit of the A4 better. The A4 fits me better. I have large hands so the extra inch on the grip really helps!
