I just love to hear Internet badasses say "I would have just whooped that beanpole, I wouldn't have used my firearm" or "I just wouldn't have gotten in that situation" It's to those I speak of, I submit this... 1) That's awesome, you fighter you. Chuck Norris would be proud. The fact of the matter is, this guy is on top of you, which would introduce leverage into the situation and it's not in your favor, regardless of weight. He's on top of you, banging your head against the concrete. Now, do you wait and wonder "Will I be able to toss him off of me before the next blow to the head? Or will the lights go out and it be the end of my life?" Or will you use your firearm? You're a fool if you still believe you're badass at that point. You think if you haven't fended him off by now that you'll somehow kick his tail after the next hard blow to the head? You won't, you'd fear for your life, and you'd stop the threat on your life. At least if you valued your own life. It's easy to say "he did this wrong" or "I woulda done this" but the fact is, if you were in the exact same spot, the result would be the same. Or....you could be dead, your choice 2) From what the evidence shows, the situation came to Zimmerman or he got surprised. Now, you may think you're some sort of spec ops ninja samurai and your situational awareness never drops, but you're wrong. Plain and simple. So please, spare us your complete and utter bullcrap. We can train all we want and we can be as aware as we want, but in most self defense situations you're going to be starting behind the curve. You're going to be reacting to someone else's actions.

DOJ can, of course, do whatever they want--and they do--but the FBI already had a handful of SAs down in Sanford to hunt for evidence of racial motive, and they came up empty. Andrew @LawSelfDefense Facebook: Law of Self Defense Obviously the FBI doesn't have anything on some of TGO's finest, because they managed to find plenty of racial motive, without any evidence, from the comfy of their easy chair. I had to read it twice since I have been up all night, but did chuckle when it sank in

Question for those that have seen it. It's my understanding that the book is a collection of short stories, or different accounts I should say. Is the movie set up this way?

I can't help but wonder if he had the thought process to not shoot that one in fear of what the others on the ground may do. I know dang well what I would have done...reload The thing I found most interesting is the absolute speed that the bear climbed the tree with. I had no idea they could just shuffle up a tree like that

Since you said primarily home defense, I'll echo the Glock 19. I carry mine, but it is on the large side for concealment. Glock 19 + Streamlight TLR-1= win

Dave, there's no "fact" to support any type of profiling. Racial, or otherwise. You're wrong, though I suspect you'll never succumb to the fact. I know facts aren't your strong suit, since yet again you've danced around showing any evidence that there was ANY FORM of profiling, that you presented as "fact". It's not anyone else's job to prove anything except you. You presented the profiling as fact, yet there is no evidence to support the claim, quite the contrary actually, you're grasping at straws. Jesus riding a donkey man, you're unreal. You guys can have this guy, ignore list here he comes. I can't stand the mindf%ck that is DaveS any longer

Where did I ever say Zman was racially profiling TM? Post #203, and #206. That's where Dave I want you to explain why in post #206 you say that it's a fact that he profiled Martin. Back it up Dave. Now it seems you've changed your story (no surprise) and are saying that it's just what you believe. So, which is it? Fact, or belief? The 911 tape certainly doesn't support any form of profiling
-
My apologies then. It just seemed like you were pushing their buttons to get them riled up. I was being serious. I know Dave isn't a troll it just seemed like he was more interested in pushing buttons than having a honest discussion. Turns out I was wrong. You see, that's the thing...I'd be more impressed if that's what he was actually doing because admittedly, it irritates me for someone to not be able to hold up their end of a discussion. But like you said he's not interested in honest, fact-based discussion...but more opinions and feelings. You're giving him too much troll credit
-
I agree 100%. But where did Zman racially profile TM? Just some of Zmans comments on the 911 tapes, raises a red flag in my OPINION! That's all any of us have..and opinion. DS So if a 911 operator asks me what a person looks like, and I answer "he looks black", I'm racially profiling? Dave, surely you know better than that. Come on man. How about you go back and listen to the recording for a change You've just proved, yet again, that when you have no proof, you go back to saying it's your OPINION. That's all it was in the first place, it was never a fact as you stated. You see Dave, that 911 tape there, that's fact. That's not opinion. You see the difference?
-
Actually I'm not. I'm really trying to have a decent disccusion here... Dave S Then where's your proof Dave? This is why no one takes you seriously. You make a statement, people ask you to back it up, and you never do. You either ignore the question or you ramble about how it's your opinion. You're welcome to your opinion, but when you present something as fact you ought to at least provide proof to back it. Facts, please. FWIW, I believe O'Mara is by far the more competent legal mind in this case, no contest. I had to stop streaming because I was using my wireless data, but just from what I've seen he seems to actually engage in conversation with the potential jurors and get them to open up and volunteer information, where De La Rionda asks blanket statements and doesn't get anyone to talk

Zimmerman Trial: Myth Busters: Did Zimmerman really “racially profile†Martin? Andrew @LawSelfDefense Facebook: Law of Self Defense You get outta here with your facts and your logic Andrew, there's no room for that nonsense when people have feelings and opinions! Lol But seriously, Dave, read...and learn.
-
LOL but of course that's his opinion. Big bad "white guy" profiled the poor black "child". Did you really just post that crap in a thread filled with actual facts of the case? Can you not tell the difference between the two Dave? It's become painfully obvious you don't care anything about any facts presented in this thread, yet you'll take time out to post something like this. Guys, next week I'm gonna be on YouTube offering my expert opinions on how I believe Zimmerman is actually an alien. Be sure to tune in for my opinion, void of all facts. Then buy my "Zman is an alien" t-shirts I had made up. Financial gain aside, it has to be true if I believe it strong enough

Wow, what's crazy is I actually had her for psychology, years ago. I dropped the class because I'm not one to listen about ones "partner". She was no where near as bold as this shit then. If she had, I would have more than likely been kicked out of school

Lol this immediately got sent to all my family members. Great post. If people don't think God had a sense of humor, all it takes is a look around to prove he did

I'd like to see a date when they added that to the website. I know at one point they were making them, then if I'm not mistaken they pulled production on them and discontinued the idea altogether. Maybe they just put it on the back burner a while -
I'm jealous. I wish I had a private place like that to shoot. I didn't realize you were just cleaning up after yourself. I'd be glad to come out and make a big mess with all my brass and then clean it up when I'm done. :D I've actually been thinking of having some buddies (tngo members included) out to have a good day of shooting. With wedding plans and everyone kinda holding on to their ammo due to the market it just hasn't happened as of yet. My goal is to at least have one this summer. If it does happen, I'll be sure to post a thread.

Oh I agree it's certainly not worth it financially to pick it up to sell, but I try to pick all ours up anyway just to keep our property cleaned up. I never shoot at a formal "range", we built our own on the family farm so we try to clean everything up whenever possible. I figured even if I only got a couple bucks out of it, it'd be worth it to help keep someone else shooting with what would otherwise go to waste. I'd love to start reloading just as another relaxing hobby, but right now it's not in the cards (getting married, still looking for a house with a garage/shop to set up in) But in the future, I'd absolutely love to. I can see it being like cleaning my weapons, very relaxing

Good deal. Yeah for a while I was shooting a good bit of the blazer aluminum case and selling them to a metal recycling place but I'm phasing it out slowly and going to all brass, all the time. I'll look through some of mine today for the A-MERC stamp, thanks for the tip. No berdan primed stuff as far as I know, other than the small stash of steel case wolf I have leftover from when you could actually get it cheaper than brass. You're absolutely right, I need to get into reloading, especially as much as I shoot
