1.
I will say that it was freezing out there today. And in all I think I sighted in 3 AR's, 3 bolt guns, and a 742 carbine. The PA red dot was easy to dial in with postive clicks that made adjustment a snap. The 3 MOA dot was easy to see when turned up to around 9, out of 11, even in the bright sun with snow on the ground. It held a good zero at 50 yds, was clearly labeled for adjustment and worked well even when stepped out to 150 yds. It seemed very overbuilt for the price, and had zero issues all day. I look forward to Jeffs long term review, but I think its a winner, especially for the money.Tapatalk ate my spelling.
Awesome, glad everything went well for you guys. I was out shooting today as well (and listening to my dad moan about how cold it was lol).
 2.
And taking them for non specific reason is overall a very bad idea. They don't work like vitamins in any way, and certainly don't build up your "resistance" to anything over time. Indeed, you're just training bacteria to adapt and resist them. Overuse of antibiotics as a nation is the reason we have the super duper killer strep and staph and whatnot strains that have evolved. And as tnguy says, have zero effect on any virus. - OS
As someone in healthcare, I wish I could like this 10 times.
 3. I'm not gonna lie, as bad that I hate it's a .380, it sure excites me there may be a 9mm soon
 4. While I don't have that particular model, I do have 4 different PA optics, they're good to go. Only issue I've had is with their house brand AR riser for the micro dot. The bolt that goes through the rail slot that gets tightened is about 1/8th thick, and apparently of cheap steel. I've broken 2 trying to snug them up, so they just sent me an upgraded QD mount on their dime. Good folks
 5. Good for them for potentially learning how to defend their life. But I'm sorry, you could put liberal in front of a anything and I'd be turned away. "Liberal big boobies" even sounds bad to me
 6.
he is only slightly more black than I am. Color is unimportant anyway.
I think you missed the point, Sport
 7.
have not read a post really. Now how many of you think the "gay" Robertson crap was happenstance? Follow the money, These down to earth people are all about something. not so sure it is the bible, but I am sure they follow the color of green
You sure are a cynical fella, you know that?
 8. Has to be because he's black. Wait, is that racist? It works whenever liberals use it as the reason why we don't like him, can't it work in reverse?
I looked at grip safety and or thumb safety from another side of the coin. Someone is fighting with me over a gun and he wins the gun, if he/she doesn't see or know how these safeties work, I may have time to get my backup gun and win the confrontation.
Valid counterpoint, but you've put yourself behind the curve on any other incidence that isn't like the one you described Wow, we derailed this train. To get back to the trail, like I said before, I'll definitely give this gun a fair shake. Especially since Glock is never going to release a single stack
Guess I'm missing something here, I wouldn't want to draw and fire a weapon in self-defense without first having a firm and proper grip (control of) on the weapon. To me a properly fit and functioning grip safety is a non issue.
So you contend that while someone is actively trying to kill you i.e. stab you, beat you, shoot you....you'll have the means to make sure you have the proper grip? Or are you more likely to make sure the projectile is pointed at the threat and pull the trigger? I'm not arguing, but let's not fool ourselves. You can't really train to draw while you're getting your skull crushed. Hard to say what you'd do for sure
Again. Not being obtuse. But how hard is it to hold the pistol enough to activate the grip safety? If I don't have that much control over the pistol, do I need to be able/trying to fire it?
It's just another factor to add into the equation. On my carry weapons I draw, and pull the trigger. I don't have to worry about if I have enough pressure on the backstrap while someone is beating me over the head until they see brains (think Zimmerman I guess). Many people only picture having to use their carry weapon under ideal situations, I just believe less processes to think about is less that can go wrong. I've heard the question posed "Would you have the ability to take that safety off while someone is trying to stab you with a knife?" Most would not, and most would not have the means to ensure a truly proper grip. Murphy's law to me Most don't think twice about manual safeties, it's just a personal thing
Not trying to step on anyone's toes here, but please tell me why the grip safety is such a detrimental issue on some guns as in the XD line, the new R-51m and the like. While it is not on the 1911 pistols. And this is a serious question. Not trying to stir things up here.
I'll echo what TDR said. Any gun with a grip safety is a problem for me when I'm carrying it to defend myself. No matter the brand, model, whatever. The simpler I can make the process of defending myself under stress, the better off I'll be I feel. Many will say that a grip safety is fine because they train with it...well, that's all well and good, I just think you're making it harder than it ought to be and placing restrictions on yourself. Just me personally. For a range gun, I could care less. I have plenty with all kinds of safeties that are just plain fun to shoot
Neat looking little pistol, but I'm not a fan a grip safety.
This. This. This. I will definitely give it a fair chance though.
 14. Not that it'll make any difference to you, but this has zero to do with "duck dynasty". Duck Commander, on the other hand, is the company this line of guns represents. Duck dynasty is merely a t.v. show. If that's all you know of that family and their companies, then you don't know much I'm afraid. If you're any kind of hunter, especially a duck hunter, you'll know they've made some of, if not the best duck calls out there for years now. Pretty fitting they have their own line of shotguns. The 22lr's on the other hand, well you can keep those
 15. I will own one of the shotguns, laugh if you wish.

 17. Absolutely. My wife...not so much
 18. You need a good beating if you're able to take advantage of this and don't. I paid $409 shipped for my unthreaded barrel a couple months ago. This is a flat out steal. I only have around 350 rounds through mine so far but it's been perfect. I love that the takedown/assembly is like that of an AR as well. Makes for quick work come cleaning time
 19.
That might be but, it did a number on my clothes dryer
I don't care who you are, that's funny right there
 20.
He works in mysterious ways.
True, some people just need a beating. God knows that
 21.
Here's the deal... when the pistol from God jams, you can beat the hell out of somebody with it. Can't say that about one of them new fangled plastic guns :).
I reckon if it truly were the pistol from God, that sumbitch wouldn't jam. ;)
 22.
All this debate on a .45 platform? The best .45 for carry is the one that the good Lord handed to John Moses Browning and he passed onto us. :)
The sad part, there's many who take this stance, very seriously. The only 45acp I've carried is the Kahr CW45. I love Kahr pistols in general, but the dao long trigger takes some getting used to. They're very smooth, but very long. If you haven't handled one, I'd recommend it
 23. I should have added to my first post; There's nothing quite like building. With buying, the initial excitement only comes once, the day you pick it up. With building, it comes every time a package comes in and every time a piece gets assembled. To me, the "I did that" and pride of ownership factor far outweighs any money I would've saved by buying a factory gun. That being said, there's also fun in trying to find the best deals on parts, catching things on sale, that sort of thing. My posts might sound contradictory, but just trying to help
 24. Honestly I've thought about one, but I'd like to handle one. Surprisingly none of my buddies have a piston upper
 25.
Yep. My first one was around $2k without sights. I'm actually killing another rifle to do the second one. It will still be expensive because of the new barrel kit.
My builds always end up costing way more, simply because I'll put the quality parts on that I want. I think you're asking the wrong question OP, I think the question is what will you be happy with? We can't answer that I could buy a $600 rifle, but I wouldn't be happy until I put probably $500 worth of aftermarket stuff on it that I would on my normal builds. All personal preference. But I will say, I built the carbine on the left here for around $950
