I'm kinda surprised at some of the responses in this thread. These officers were targeted, simply because they were officers. Like Omega said above, are there bad cops? Certainly. Just like there's bad nurses, lawyers, soldiers, whatever. But for some of you to basically imply that this crap is justified because of some encounter you had with a policeman with little man syndrome, or because of the questionable actions of a few officers blasted all over the media is beyond absurd. Damn shame Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well I have to say, I'm very pleased with my decision to build an AR in this caliber. So far I only have a little over 250 rounds through the gun but it's been flawless, and surprisingly hasn't gotten near as dirty as I imagined it would. I'll put a scope on it around Christmas and shoot some groups, but for now I'm just pleased that it's stupid easy to hit a 8" steel plate consistently at around 125 yards with irons. This magazine has also been reliable, it's a newly released multi caliber magazine, and holds 25 rounds of 7.62x39. I've also been using the newest CPD 30 round magazines with great luck.

Thanks! It couldn't have been a direct hit because you can only smell it when she gets really close to you. Crazy animals Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

As much as I hate panic buying, if one of your options is "wait" to buy anything AR related, go with the other option Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

With the kit you linked all you need to do is add a lower. The lower receiver must go to a FFL, the kit you linked will ship to your doorstep. As you mentioned, from there you're just a couple hours away from a functioning AR. For what it's worth, you could do a lot worse than the kit you linked, buy with confidence Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Suggestions for iron sights on AR 15

Echo. Daniel defense make some awesome fixed irons. Magpul MBUS are much tougher than you'd think, even though they are polymer. -

Yeah the CPD mags I have for it have functioned really well with it in 30, 28, and 10 round flavors. Just thought this thing was interesting since it will supposedly feed any cartridge that will fit inside an AR mag well. It's several thousandths wider all around than a standard GI magazine, won't drop free in any lower I have. I suppose that's to give some play to some of the longer calibers, not sure. I'll gladly ship it to a Grendel owner for them to try and see if it works. Supposedly it will. http://www.primaryarms.com/rze-mag-001b/p/rze-mag-001b/

Actually, that's a new "multi-cal" magazine I'm trying out that's recently released. Fed 25 rounds at a time over 10 times on Friday

I think you have to ask yourself what you really want. I shoot AR pattern rifles for the most part and I carry Glock pistols so a AR that accepts Glock magazines made sense. It has ran like crazy for around 700 rounds so far without a hiccup. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I have a Hipoint 995TS like the poster above. I may have $300 in it all together. It, just like my 9mm AR, has never stumbled. I've fed it every 9mm weight and bullet type I've had and it has digested it. Both can be a lot of fun. Like I said, I think it comes down to what you want and what you want to spend. Pic of my two
