1. I have some friends that will possibly die tonight from ethanol poisoning. They were going to take shots every time Obama lied...
  2. I enjoy his reviews of weapons and such, I feel like he does a good job. He is long winded though, and his eyes are kinda wonky......or something. Overall I like him.
  3. My dad has one, shoots so much better than mine in 9mm. The 45acp has a slow steady recoil in that platform and it makes it a dream to shoot, even with the wonky springy butt pad
  4. I'd say part it out. What forearm is it exactly? I might be interested

    Guns Stolen
I have a flatbottom boat and some crude magnets on a rope made from old 12"-15" subs. I am guessing if someone got scared and ditched them it would probanly be quick like driving over a bridge. They may be in an obvious place. Duck River isn't very deep at all in my area. It starts getting deeper towards the damn in Columbia but here in my neck of the woods, <8 '. I am a river rat in the summer and when it warms up I waill definitely do a little extra diving and searching on my long boat and kayak trips. They would be ruined but it would be a little closure. I hate to think of what all is in the water down our river. I for years has wanted to invest in a quality underwater camera and may do it this year.
I'm in!

    Guns Stolen

Man that's rough. If you want to have a search party for the guns I'm more than happy to put in a Saturday if you can get info on where the scum dumped them
  7. Oh, I also forgot to add that she said they put a stop to people getting chairs out and such. Said if the want ammo, they have to stand and wait for it. I was happy to hear that
  8. Out of curiosity I decided to go to our local (Columbia) Walmart and strike up a conversation. The lady I talked to today said that she works the gun counter most Saturdays, Sundays, and a couple of days through the week. She said that the days she works it she won't put all the ammo out in the mornings, she'll half it so they have some to put out in the evenings. She seemed really frustrated with "the same old faces" and with those same faces calling everyday. She said that all she'll ever tell anyone when they ask what time the ammo gets put on the shelf is "sometime between 7 and 3:30". Now she may be best friends with one of the scalpers and lying to my face, but she seemed honest about it. Also, I'm not sure about people that work the gun counter the other days
  9. I know this happens every day, but it still makes my blood boil just the same. I shouldn't have any ill will against these guys, but I sure do
  10. :slowclap:
  11.
I like 50K in stash and 5K as shooting stock. (which I no longer have) Besides SHTF issues, and even besides the year long current shortage, ammo has always been one of the better choices for beating USD inflation rate over 5 years or less, if you decide to sell it off. And since folks can't reload it, .22 remains at the top of the list for value over time. And especially since interest rates on stashed money have crashed over last decade. Wish I had at least quintupled my stock over the last few years, I'd still have my 55K round comfort zone, plus lots of extra bucks (without even "gouger" pricing). - OS
Holy crap my friend, I have ammo envy. I can't say that I have a definite number. I shoot a lot, so if like to have a lot
  12. As stated, it will increase accuracy. But...I wouldn't get too hung up on it. If you're bad about keeping a sling wound tight, or leaning heavy on the gun when shooting from a rest....then you might see the advantage of a free float On a AR10 with the ability of the round to reach out and touch something I certainly would free float it. On something like a 16" carbine AR15, where most folks run a 3-4moa red dot, I wouldn't worry about it nearly as much
  13.
No sweat.
Woohoo, I love this place
  14. This is the bat#### craziest, but best, first post I've read in the morning on TGO that I can remember. Off to tell my wife that those headaches she's been having aren't stress, they're actually the government. Will report back :)
  15.
Nashville armory has been getting it in fairly reliably for months now. $3 - $5 a box depending on variety. I've bought at least 2500 rounds of their cb and probably half as much again in misc other loads. In the last 6 months. Last bought some a few days before Xmas and they had federal bulk cans too.
What say you about procuring some for a friend and said friend paying you when meeting up to exchange previously discussed goods?
  16. I bet it's in one of the other many threads asking where all the 22lr has went ;)

    Glock 42

You know, the more I see the 42, the more I'm thinking about getting it for the wife to replace the LCP. I can see this being much more comfortable to train with. As it stands, she doesn't like to shoot the LCP much
  18. Aero Precision posted this on their FB page. Gotta love it
  19.
It is not bed-wetting to take a defensive posture if you hear gunfire, esp if you are at a potential target which, unfortunately, a school is. Those teachers are responsible for those kids, and they must investigate. It is also not fair to expect a non gun person to be able to judge the distance and caliber of a shot in the 'distance'. Many probably do not know that you can hear some shots from a mile off or more.
Not fair? Please tell me how judging distance of a noise has anything to do with being a "gun person". If you can't tell the difference between a shot in your immediate proximity and one a mile away, you need to wear a helmet. My 80 year old grandmother has never fired a gun in her life, but I promise you she can tell you if something is a good distance away or if you might need to keep your eyes peeled I understand teachers and school admins have a tough job and they want to look out for their children as much as they can. With that should come not freaking out and sending the kids into a tizzy in this situation. Instilling more undue fear into youths isn't helping them any
  20.
II didn't want my galloping paranoia to get the best of me either.
Sorry, but ding ding. 22lr is out there. If you're not seeing it you're either not trying hard enough or not paying enough. Not saying you should pay the high prices or camp out at Wally World, but it's out there for you to do so if you please. It's not easy like it used to be, and quite frankly I don't know when it will ever be again. I don't know when we'll see the day where bricks of 22lr sit on a Walmart shelf for days or weeks at a time like 2007. Back before the Obama and the Newtown
  21.
Bed wetters......
I'm sorry, but the phrase "for the sake of the children" has very little meaning to me anymore.
  22.
If you wish you can purchase over the phone (up to the 5 box limit) and we'll hold until you can pick up or we could ship on your dime. Daniel
Just called and ordered mine. Since I'm laid up sick and it'd be quite a drive I'm just having you guys ship it to me. Janet was very friendly and helpful, thanks guys!
  23.
While performing an internal study for a rifle project I ordered 2 rock river ar15 firing pins direct from rock river. I check out 15 bucks or so for 2 pins shipping was shown as tbd during checkout Got a box today about the the size of a large roll o toilet paper. After pulling out paper packing etc a small bag containing 2 pins falls out. Ok I'm good just what I ordered. Nice rock river quality pins.I had a hankering to check the ccard statement, almost 20 bucks to ship 2 firing pins. They could have tossed em in a cardboard envelope ala amazon style for 3 bucks... Lesson learned is tbd in the shipping cost column means toopid bastard delivery charge Live n learn... I've added rock river to my list right above walmart ammo hoarders and cheaper than ass I meant dirt... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2 of course it ate my spelling.
There's another couple of company's that do that exact same thing, can't recall who they are right now. I just don't trust any company nearly enough to agree to pay before I know a total. $7 or so of what you paid may have went to UPS, or whomever the carrier was for the actual shipping amount
  24.
I have no nightstand gun. My gun is on my hip all day an when I go to bed it stays on my hip. Its a revolver by the way. I shoot one handed an though I can shoot pistols all day without issue, the one time I needed it I limp wristed it an it jammed. I tried later to an now know that I can not shoot a pistol reliably under stress. My revolver though goes bang every time an loaded with 000 I can make 20 holes in something before I am out. I am happy with that.
Going out on a limb here....you sleep alone, right?
Which is why I said "in general public" in #11 and "on your person" in #16. And why its biggest selling point of folding up in a briefcase or backpack isn't really all that in this state. And another reason an AR or AK pistol is attractive. - OS
I ETA, too much cold/flu meds, pay me no mind. "Flu brain" as my wife is calling it, is no joke
