  1. Does the military teach you which rifles under $1,000 are best in the civilian market? Guess I need to tell my buddy that was SF that he got screwed, he came out knowing little to nothing of how to put together an AR. How to maintenance one, sure. But actually disassemble, upgrade, and reassemble...no sir. OP, If you're looking for actual info, you're in the right place. As far as budget friendly options I don't think you can go wrong with either the Ruger 5.56 or the S&W entry models.
  2. Right, that's what I meant. The "M" designations won't be available to us cake eating civilians, but that this could very well be what they rebrand as "gen 5". Agree on the front serrations. It's on my list of things to do for a couple of my current slides.
  3. Some speculate that this will be the Gen 5 once offered to civi's. I haven't bought a new pistol in a couple years, I may need this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. This thread is over a month old, but I do want to submit a suggestion that I've tried recently. If you're serious about using irons to hit targets at distance, I believe the KAC 600m rear sight should be in the conversation. They can be found for around $70, it's my new go to rear folding sight. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Sorry, but I owned a set of these for about 2 days. They aren't even playing the same ball game that magpul is. My set had side to side wiggle when deployed, and were made out of very thin polymer. They were so bad I wouldn't even sell them, straight to the garbage they went. Not my video, but similar opinions
  6. Uncle Tom is what you'll hear him called.
  7. But I'm a tin foil conspiracist, right? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Just screwing around, but at a tad over 50 yards you need about a 3-4" holdover to hit one of these Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I'm a fan of Rob Ski. Even though most of what he reviews doesn't interest me, I end up watching just because of him. I think IO doubled down on bad press when they basically called him a liar with an agenda. I'd wager that he has more fans than they have good rifles in the wild lol. 10. No, it's not what you expect. So it's raining at my place, and I'm in charge of the little one today, so I improvised myself some pew pew. Best 5 shot group at 20 yards, shot with my Crosman m4-177 pellet gun, while sitting on my back porch with my 90lb Lab in my lap and my other pup rubbing against me like a cat. Pretty sure we need to work on my Lab's breath control to tighten these groups up some My wife got me this air rifle last year on my birthday as sort of a joke since I enjoy AR's so much. I like it, it's fun to feel like a kid again sometimes! Happy Saturday all!

    PM9 or CM9

CM9 is the only gun I regret ever selling. I could never justify the up charge for the PM models Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I told my wife I knew we were getting old because we love sitting and watching the hummingbirds feed on our back porch. Some of the fights rival the bests hockey fights I've seen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Wow, so very well done. Ten thousand atta boys wouldn't cover it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Where I grew up was about 15 minutes from a dirt race track. The gas station nearest to it sold 101 (I believe) octane racing fuel. In high school when me and my buddies got paid we would always go get a few gallons to feed the mighty worn out old 350 V8's we had in our trucks. Boy, we thought we were something lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Haha if I could bike it we'd be in business. Unfortunately my running days are over
  16. Man, I wish I had the feet for this. Unfortunately it's just not possible for me. Good luck with it all! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Gear imo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. What finish is that? I really wish mine had peep sights, even though I know conventional wisdom is that a bead is good enough for anything but slugs
  19. No worries, I often suffer from foot in mouth syndrome, just ask my wife!
  20. While I agree with your sentiment, here are my thoughts. 1) We generally don't have "mass stabbings". While murder is murder, those on the anti side do not see it that way. They see "gun violence", nothing else really matters to them. 2) Knives are not the greatest threat to an oppressive government. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Echo. I was skeptical of the set screw staying in place, but so far it has been golden.
  22. Not trying to speak for him but since he said he's using a glock cut bcg, the only reason to run one of those is for glock mags.
  23. Here's my shockwave gun. Still in progress but it's firing. I have a keymod light mount in route, and it needs a front sight and BCM kag grip. It's a 11.5" mid-length cut down from 14.5" barrel by our very own@Dolomite_supafly. Sorry about the crappy picture, will take better ones once it's actually finished.
  24. Oh wow good call, $40 cheaper and only an oz. difference. I wish that had been an option when I built, I would have used it too! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. My suggestion, which is what I'm running right now, would be to use this buffer + Wolff xp buffer spring. Reasoning is the buffer itself is longer which does away with the need for spacers and such when using a regular carbine buffer...so no broken bolt catches. Also, it's heavier, which you'll need in a 10mm http://heavybuffers.com/9q.html If not it, I would run their "T" version, which is even heavier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
