The first Christmas my wife and I were dating she bought me a Hipoint 9mm just because she didn't know what was what. I've never had a malfunction. It's one of the guns I'll never sell simply because it was a gift from her. I've since owned a couple of Hipoint carbines as well that remind me of an AK they run so well

I know you stated your budget is above and beyond what it would take to get this optic, but if you wanted to pick up something just to see if you like 1-4 optics, I've really been impressed with this one I have from Primary Arms for the money. Really the only reason I'm replacing it is because the carbine it's on gets shot at distance more than inside 100 yards so I don't use the adjustability.
