  1. I've done exactly what you suggested in your OP other than our shotguns, of course. Works for me.
  2. My wife just bought me one of the Crossman M4-177 pellet/bb guns for my birthday. It's advertised up to 700fps. That is screaming for a air rifle IMO. I haven't owned one since I was a kid so I was completely out of the loop. In my backyard "ballistics testing" I've found that a pellet will go through both sides of a gallon milk jug filled with water, I was amazed. Neat little air rifle though. Takes AR stocks and sights. Sad situation. The 5 rules of firearm safety carry you a long way around anything that goes bang

I always said I'd be in line to buy one when they released it. That being said, at that price point, getting another Kahr CM9 is looking better and better
  4. It is not time for me to re up just yet. Boo. Awesome gesture man.
  5. What in the hellfire? How many lies can they tell in 3 sentences?
  6. Level out About a year from now
  7. Ah, when I posted that photo wasn't there yet. I must have came in just before he edited the post
  8. No mechanical safeties on anything you will ever have to use when motor skills will be diminished. No, no, no, no. Just no.
  9. I feel like I missed something
  10. Man, that's really cool. When I was growing up Dad always had a lot of guns because we did a lot of hunting of all kinds, he was never really simply into guns like I was though. That is until I started building AR's. I actually got to teach him how to build an AR, and it's some of the most memorable moments we've ever had. Congrats to both of you, it's awesome to be able to share that.
  11. What's an asshat?
  12. Mine is the 9mm. I've put around 600 rounds of so through it id say. Although in the last year I've probably only put 100 through it. I take it shooting every few times I go and run a couple magazines through it just to confirm function. If you can see it for what it is, I highly doubt you'll be disappointed. Now, the reason I don't enjoy putting a lot of rounds through it is because I have to modify my grip for it. I shoot with what I believe is referred to as a "thumbs forward" grip, and you can't really do that with these guns like others. I typically rest my left thumb on the frame forward of the trigger guard (right handed), you'll see if you do that with these pistols you'll be resting your thumb on the slide.
  13. People can laugh, but out of all my nice, expensive guns, my hipoint has the most sentimental value. It's the first Christmas present my now wife got me when we were dating. I take it on the boat, the 4 wheeler, things like that.
  14. Thanks buddy. I have to say I've taken a liking to her pretty quick. Now we have our boy and our girl.
  15. Well guys, ignore me, but here's our new addition we picked up this morning. She's a husky/lab mix. I believe her name will be Lola.
  16. Noticed that too huh
  17. Sorry. I take no credit about the tax, though
  18. Exactly this. I try to order 500 rounds every couple months or so (I shoot quite a bit) and it's nowhere to be found as of late. Guess I'll shoot my shotguns or pellet rifle for a little while.
  19. Well, yes...you are in a way. But if you feel as though you can handle that added step in a high stress situation when all of your fine motor functions have shat the bed on you, by all means please do. I just see no reason anyone would add a step in the course of defending their life.
  20. FWIW, my Chinese cans came today. I don't hate that I bought them. I don't use mine for storage really, the longest mine see stored during the summer Is a couple of weeks. I think they will do fine for my purposes.
  21. Man I wouldn't know where to start. I'm currently converting/refinishing/modding a SAIGA in .233 which is my first dance with the AK platform. It didn't take me long to realize that really nothing fits out of the box like the AR's I'm accustomed to. Looks like you're making great strides, keep pushing! I'd love to take on one of these down the road
  22. It could also get you killed should you have to use your firearm under stress. There's a lot of ways to keep the OP from happening, manual safeties aren't the answer for a firearm you carry
  23. Everyone should own an AR imo, and there's never been a better time price wise to get into one. You mentioned "home defense if possible", I'm not seeing any options other than the Hipoint carbine mentioned that would double in that role. Trust me when I say you could do much worse than a hipoint carbine.
  24. And just like that, I have 2 Chinese knock off cans coming, as well of 2 of these
