  1. I'm late to the party, and I believe there has been very sound advice given. Avoid, evade, and so on. I just want to commend the OP for taking advice and criticism like a champ, even admitting wrong. Well done sir
  2. The more I look at the saiga and those pictures I realize it's a lot lighter in person than those pictures show. I'm taking it out to the farm to run a few rounds this evening and I'll try to get a daylight picture
  3. Unfortunately I had to have it shipped. I have no complaints about DSG arms, but paying $12 to ship to rattle cans is rough.
  4. I really wish I could find some of the 223 here in columbia. Cheapest our Wally has 223 is 40 cents per
  5. Thanks gents, I'm really excited to get the Saiga out now. I almost had it cerakoted by Amendment 2, but he expressed how much of a pain it was to degrease one good enough to cerakote, and I figured paint was just more in line with the "AK" history. If it gets beat up, it's an AK.
  6. Just put the magazine down in the grout seam
  7. I've been busy the last few days. This shotgun is a H&R pardner pump I picked up back around Black Friday for $162 shipped from Buds. Solid shotgun, basically a 870 clone with a heavier steel receiver. I enjoy pistol grips on anything I shoot offhand so I went to work. Put in a mesa tactical AR stock adapter for an 870, cut the beavertail off of a B5 grip to use, and put on a MOE stock. Changed the handguard out for a CAA unit so I could run a afg and hand stop on the side rail for my thumb. I like it 10 times better now, and it handles a lot better. Second is a Saiga in 223 I bought from a member here, R1100R. I knew exactly what was in store for this gun before I even got it home. I spent last night painting and baking it as well as doing the conversion. Paint is Aervoe coyote. I think a little before and after is in order (credit to R1100R for the before photo) Before: After: Again, sorry for the crappy pictures. Sadly, one of my hobbies is not photography
  8. I've done exactly what you suggested in your OP other than our shotguns, of course. Works for me.
  9. My wife just bought me one of the Crossman M4-177 pellet/bb guns for my birthday. It's advertised up to 700fps. That is screaming for a air rifle IMO. I haven't owned one since I was a kid so I was completely out of the loop. In my backyard "ballistics testing" I've found that a pellet will go through both sides of a gallon milk jug filled with water, I was amazed. Neat little air rifle though. Takes AR stocks and sights. Sad situation. The 5 rules of firearm safety carry you a long way around anything that goes bang

    Glock Teaser

I always said I'd be in line to buy one when they released it. That being said, at that price point, getting another Kahr CM9 is looking better and better
  11. It is not time for me to re up just yet. Boo. Awesome gesture man.
  12. What in the hellfire? How many lies can they tell in 3 sentences?
  13. Level out About a year from now
  14. Ah, when I posted that photo wasn't there yet. I must have came in just before he edited the post
  15. No mechanical safeties on anything you will ever have to use when motor skills will be diminished. No, no, no, no. Just no.
  16. I feel like I missed something
  17. Man, that's really cool. When I was growing up Dad always had a lot of guns because we did a lot of hunting of all kinds, he was never really simply into guns like I was though. That is until I started building AR's. I actually got to teach him how to build an AR, and it's some of the most memorable moments we've ever had. Congrats to both of you, it's awesome to be able to share that.
  18. What's an asshat?
  19. Mine is the 9mm. I've put around 600 rounds of so through it id say. Although in the last year I've probably only put 100 through it. I take it shooting every few times I go and run a couple magazines through it just to confirm function. If you can see it for what it is, I highly doubt you'll be disappointed. Now, the reason I don't enjoy putting a lot of rounds through it is because I have to modify my grip for it. I shoot with what I believe is referred to as a "thumbs forward" grip, and you can't really do that with these guns like others. I typically rest my left thumb on the frame forward of the trigger guard (right handed), you'll see if you do that with these pistols you'll be resting your thumb on the slide.
  20. People can laugh, but out of all my nice, expensive guns, my hipoint has the most sentimental value. It's the first Christmas present my now wife got me when we were dating. I take it on the boat, the 4 wheeler, things like that.
  21. Thanks buddy. I have to say I've taken a liking to her pretty quick. Now we have our boy and our girl.
  22. Well guys, ignore me, but here's our new addition we picked up this morning. She's a husky/lab mix. I believe her name will be Lola.
  23. Noticed that too huh
