  1. Ran several rounds through it Saturday just to test function. All signs point to zeroing it this Saturday with some 69gr. I hope to shoot a group or 2 that day as well
  2. I'm in Columbia and would be more than happy to, but I'm willing to bet there's a member closer to your location
  3. I'll let the other rest, this we most certainly agree on.
  4. Key words quoted to show differentiation. I do not believe there is a perversion of the religion of islam at hand. Have people of all religions killed through the years? Certainly. Are there any killing right now, other than these guys, that are actually endorsed by their religion and instructed to do so in the religious text they study? If there are I'm not aware of any. I think I've made my point. I honestly do believe in equal rights for all men and women in this country as guaranteed by our constitution. But I also believe that your rights stop where mine start. If you believe in a religion that teaches you that you ought to kill me simply for not believing the same as you, I believe your rights are pushing a little too far toward my side of the line we've drawn 'tween us.
  5. I realize you're trying to show that there is a fringe crowd in every religion, and there is, but you still did not show me that there are any others out there professing the name of "....." executing other humans exactly as there chosen religion instructs them to. Throw the baby out with the bath water, I shall. No time for any of them. Edit: last sentences removed because I got squirrley
  6. When those other religions start encouraging their followers to kill everyone that doesn't believe in their prophet, then we'll talk. Yes...I know that has nothing to do with their protected right to practice their religion of choice. ...No, I don't care. Call me whatever you like, but I don't give 1 farts worth of care about their freedom of religion as long as there is still one of them breathing and preaching that all whom don't follow allah should be killed. I do not believe in allah.

I'm with Dave, no way is that a $1k rifle. She sure is a good looking gun though
  8. Seen this in the last couple weeks here in Columbia with a lady I work with as well. Her home was listed for 7 hours before she accepted an offer on it. She said initially she would be happy getting $159k for the house, it listed at $209k and she got every cent of it. Coincidentally, now there are several homeowners on that street looking to sell now.
  9. I carry, just like everywhere else in public. My Dad carries too. Our preacher is a big gun guy as well so I wouldn't be surprised if he carried in the pulpit. I think it would be laughable around this area for any church to tell its members not to carry. Christians are being persecuted both away and at home right now. Unfortunately that will get worse with time.
  10. Absolutely good decisions to have to make. This is the first gun I've built in a good long while that doesn't have an adjustable gas block on it, only because it's rifle gas and how supposedly soft shooting it is. That muzzle brake is the Precision Armament M4-72, it scored the best numbers in the tests that thetruthaboutguns did so I look forward to this being a very soft shooter. If you don't want a suppressor mount, I'd highly recommend the surefire Procomp model. It's the same brake as their Socom, just without being a suppressor mount. I'm like you and went back and forth on fixed vs collapsible stock but I'm glad I went this direction, it sure feels "right". Maybe sometime! I have found that the heavier grain rounds are a good bit more expensive than what I'm used to, I'm actually looking into reloading at this point, I've needed to for years. Thanks buddy! Haha that's reassuring, I'm looking forward to pulling the trigger this weekend just to test function.
  11. I suppose all of my builds should have "on a budget" in the title, oh well. I've wanted to build one of these for quite some time. I have had the receivers built for a good while and couldn't decide on a barrel. Finally settled on the Green Mountain 18" rifle gas, 223 wylde chamber, 1 in 8 twist stainless bead blasted. I feel like it will give me all the accuracy I can handle and it was a great deal as well. I'll be trying some 69gr ammo next weekend and walk it out to 300 yards and depending on how that goes I may try some 77gr. I really like the magpul fixed stock so far, it really balances out this gun well. I also have to admit that this gun has the first NiB BCG in it that I've owned, and I really, really like it. I can see it being darn easy to clean. The scope is the Bushnell 4.5-18 that a lot of us on here got on sale back on Black Friday. I don't have any allusion that this gun (nor me for that matter) will shoot a 6" group at 1,000 yards, but as I said I believe it will do all I want it to at around 300 yards.
  12. No one said buy a Glock yet? This is not the Internet I'm used to.
  13. This is definitely something I'd consider as well. I'm not super familiar with savages, but this thread has my ears perked up
  14. That's the strange part to me. Can it be "resisting arrest" just for running? Even if the original intent of the officers was just to question him? (From what I've read)
  15. Well, I won't pretend to know about the situation, but I did see this posted by the FOP there in Maryland
  16. You know... Several times in my life I have exclaimed "Now I've seen it all". Now I truly mean it.
  17. I'd just get a mil spec aluminum. I see what you're getting at, but it's literally an extra $125 to have a complete lower. With the game you're playing (NFA), that can't make the difference. I have no problems with polymer lowers. But with this being on a trust, and something that should get passed down, the thought of a breakage with a polymer lower down the road would be another $200 stamp plus another lower to fix. $125 now, or $200+ if the polymer breaks down the road. To me it's a no brainer
  18. While I will agree they are a great tool, I look at it like I'm losing valuable seconds putting them on.
  19. By that do you mean pistol grip only? Because in my experience, and with my pistol grip shotguns with collapsible stocks, the pistol grips handle 10 times better.
  20. We bow to your superior manhood. I handled a 43. Won't be replacing anything in the safe with it, that's for sure.
  21. I have a Hustler Raptor. It has a fabricated deck and Kawasaki engine. For the warranty and price I couldn't go with anything else. I only mow 2 acres though. The only thing I dislike about mine is the hydraulics are sealed so they aren't serviceable. I believe on the next model up (I forget the name) the hydraulics are serviceable.
  22. Here ya go guys. Hurry! https://www.coppercustom.com/?post_type=product&s=akx
