See if it's all shiny I can blind the BG with the reflection whilst I hit em in the head with a rock. Seriously I take it you like wheel guns over pistols. I have no problem with revolvers and plan on carrying a revolver as a back up gun. Great looking gun, never handled one. Just a bit more than I wanted to invest at this time. I was looking at Kimber or maybe not since Sling said their QC is sub par, or possibly a Springfield 1911. Definitely want a .45 in a SS 1911. I am going to the Goodman gun show in Nashville to look this weekend.

I've got a XD40 V-10 (its setup as my night stand gun) that I went through HCP class with and a couple of others that I don't want to carry. A office gun, 9mm Hi Power and a 6 inch SS Colt King Cobra that's just a bit hard to conceal. My wife is going in for her HCP in a few weeks and I got her a Charter Arms .38 Pink Lady to carry. True a gun is a tool but I also like to keep my 20 year old Craftsmen Rachet set looking shiny and new and I'm not much of a Glock fan. I'm looking at a Kimber SS Pro Carry II for my carry gun, anybody had any problems with Kimber?

Sorry if I am doubling up on this question. Would stainless be a better choice for carry weapon than a blued finish as far as wear goes? I'm 32 days into my endless wait for my HCP and thought I'd get some opinions and am on the prowl for my carry gun.

Local Appraiser Needed

Thanks for the reply. Game Fair is that in the Franklin area? And by the common flaw are you referring to the hinges being cracked? It appears to be in near perfect condition. To the eye this one has a couple of dents in the barrel but the finish is 98% no flaking or rub marks what so ever. The original hard rubber handles are smooth but you can see the checkering still. The breech and firing pin are both in excellent condition as well. I have seen some crazy prices that they sold for on some of the antique auction sites on this exact same model and they looked like crap compared to mine. As far as being letdown, I've got nothing to loose other that the time and appraisal fee. I figured if it was worth something maybe it could fund a project I've been thinking about. -

Local Appraiser Needed

Thanks, I'll give em a call. -
I'm looking for a Curio and Relic appraiser in the Mt. Juliet, Nashville area. I have a couple of antique guns that came to me after my father passed. Can anyone recommend a gun shop, collector, or for that matter someone here that can assist me? What is the going rate for a appraisal? I have looked these up on the regular auction sites and the prices are either extremely high or very low and none of the auctions pictures I have seen compare to the condition of these so I am looking for a realistic value. And just for the sake of information they are: 1. Remington Double Derringer Type 1 Second model 2. Colt U.S. Army Model 1901

As being fairly new to this forum I have never had the chance to meet Mars but I have been fortunate to learn from him and several others here, I only wish I had even been more fortunate as to had the chance to meet Mars before his untimely passing. My condolences and prayers go out to his family and friends.

That's not just the republicans there, that's congress. Spending money that we don't have falls on all the crooks in Washington. Not one side at this point is any better or any worse than the other, they BOTH suck!

I have the Trijicons on my XD-40 V10 service as well. Specialty Arms II in La Vergne installed them and did a great job on the installation.

Where's a 7 foot tall 850lb grizzly when you need one...

Rock Island Armory has a compact tactical 1911. I got to play with one Friday. Very nice and has a good feel to it. Bellshire Hardware in Nashville sells them on line at GunBroker.com: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=109429295

Gladeville,TN. Percy Priest Lake to the south about 10 min away, Old Hickory Lake to the north about 15 min away. Downtown Nashville to the west about 20 mins. Memphis is about a 2 1/2 hour drive, Knoxville around 2 hours. The Nashville Super Speedway is 10 min to the south east of me. Lebanon, Smyrna, Murfreesboro and Mt. Juliet are all a 10 to 15 minute drive and we still have to be careful driving due to all the deer and wildlife in this area. 2 indoor ranges within 20 min and one outdoor range about 10 min away.

The problem with this type of Give-a-Way is it will end up the same as TennCare. Every body on the border states of Tennessee within range will wind up with a free cell phone. There will not be enough people involved with keeping something that could be used as a good thing from going very bad. And they don't do a proper background check to verify that the address is correct, there's just not enough money or manpower. Before you know it its been expanded to 2 to 3 million low-income households. Stuff like this always turns into Pandora's Box. "Those who do not learn from history are bound to repeat it." Not sure who said it, but you can be darn sure it wasn't a Tennessee politician.

I was in the same class. Top notch class by the way. The only part that was "drug out" was the video from DOS. I am a verified insomniac but I think I'm cured now. I preferred the two day class over a one day. Sitting at a desk for several hours and then out on the range for several more was more than I wanted to do in a days time.

No offense intended, but what exactly is he doing in the video that any of us would not be doing if bored or preoccupied? And how is the man a fascist? Please take a look at Rightwingers definition and tell me how you can throw out words you don't evidently understand. Hearing and then saying a word is what a parrot does. Hearing then finding the definition of a word and using it in the proper context is the sign of intelligence. Again no offense intended but I hear that word thrown around an awful lot. I am not a big Bush supporter, there's a lot of stuff he's done well but there's a lot he has not , but if this was a three way presidential race between Bush, Ohbama, and McCain I'm afraid I'd have to vote for Bush again.

Great shots. I love both as well. I have been into (very amateur) photography for several years. Couple of suggestions on your light box, I noticed you were using the clamp on lights for your light source and the metal reflectors can make the light look a bit harsh and uneven, if you paint the inside of the reflectors bright white it helps to tone it down a bit. Also if you are using a anti-vibration lens (not sure what Canon calls their version. I am a Nikon user and they call it VR for vibration reduction) turn that off while using a tripod it actually causes a blurry pictures since there is no movement of the camera and lens.

Hello all. David from Gladeville, Tn. I've been poking around here for a week or two reading the forums here and thought I'd step up and say howdy. So here it is "HOWDY!"
