Looking at a yugo century ak, Avoid or hit or miss?

Can you explain what you mean by "handy with tools".

What are some good brands for AK's? I found a few century one for less $600, but wasnt sure if they are any good. Then again, its hard to mess up such a simple and elegant weapon.

Sorry, I sould have been a bit clearer. I am looking for good and inexpensice red dot or the like. I am near sighted on my right eye and I shoot right handed. Saving movey for the surgery, but wanting something to help for the time being. I have a red dot that a friend gave me, but its rather crappy.

Looking for some good sights for my AR and my AK. As much as I love the sights on my AK, my right eye isnt the greatest. Are there any good inexpensice sights that you guys recommend? Would prefer a red dot but I do plan on getting an acog for the ar eventually.

I found out more things about the AK. It has a chrome barrel and the receiver was stamped here in the states. The gunsmith has his own press, so this rifle is all american. Kind of ironinc isnt it?

Seems pretty easy. I have never seen a store without 7.62x54 before. And the 1000 round cans are less than $200 I believe.

That stock, just sticks out from the rest of the rifle somehow.

I was looking along the lines of sights. And another ammo can wouldnt hurt either. If only 5.56 was $200 for a can of 1000 rounds.

Ah, I'll check as soon as I get off work, but I dont recall seeing any of those engravings. I think he had his own press.   Yeah, I give my dog plenty of space if hes angry. But where is a good place I should look for mags then? 1080 rounds and only one mag just isnt going to cut it.

Oh, I heard that the steel mags are the best ones for it, but anyone here ever used a promag with it? I have one, and it jammed a few rounds and on the second time, it worked just fine. I found a few mags for a good price, but they are all promags and I wanted get some advice.

Thats the thing. I do not know. Bought if off a friend that had a gunsmith build it for him from the ground up. And after a year, my friend never fired it, so I made him an offer on it. It fires REALLY well. I just dont know what to add to it to make it better than it already is.

On my quest of giving myself a G3 for Christmas, I got deviated from the path and pick up something completely unexpected. AK 74 chambered in 5.45x39 and I must say..... Its one hell of a rifle. That g3 stock does not go with that FAL at all.

its a century arms PAP 92....... I am on the verge of driving down to the shop to buy it, but I want to mount a foldable stock to it, but as soon as I do, it will be considered a class 3 so I am reluctant.

I had no idea it was a draco. All it know it needs a colapsable stock. And yeah, in retrospect, a better title would have helped. 

I ran across this Ak74 pistol yesterday. I know even tho its considered as a pistol, I dont remember the last time I saw a pistol fire 7.62X39. Does anyone here have any experience with them? Im debatiing on getting it, since its cheaper than most full ak's I found. Its also rather nice has all the right curves!    http://imgur.com/BY4XvBo

not so much as dark side, but I just cant find the one ak for me. I love them all. and I would pick up a 74 any day over an ar15, but I am trying to slowly and surely grow my rifle collection.

thats an awesome looking prt, but I am trying to stay with with a ar 15 for now. Dont tempt me or I might go forward and pick up an ak 74 too
