And as mentioned, I haven't heard/seen hardly anything this morning... The last couple years the media has quit mentioning it. I do understand moving on, but events of this nature should never be forgotten and unfortunately our country is forgetting.

I was sitting in 8th grade history as well that morning. I remember a bunch of teachers hurrying down the hall talking to each other, than they turned on the TV and told us what happened. We didn't do any work that day, just watched the reports. We also debated counter strikes - younger and dumber at the time, we didn't fully understand the repercussions of some of our proposals. But I still wish a few areas in the middle east had ceased to exist.

My wedding is coming up in November... I got a few reasons for asking her to marry me, part of which is our daughter (who is fixing to turn 1). But it is more than that, would have asked her anyways. We have known each other for 15 years or so, grew up together. We fight like all couples, but each of us understands the other and really feel like we make each other better. I almost married another girl I thought I loved a few years ago, but it would have been a huge mistake. This one is not a mistake. To prove the point of why she fits me, on our honeymoon she has agreed to a detour to the Sierra bullet factory for the tour and to pick up some factory seconds for my reloading hobby. Oh, and she actually paid from her paycheck for half of my reloading setup when I bought it.

$20 a brick may be gone, but $70-$90 a brick is not acceptable. Yes, I saw a 500 round box (Federal blue box if I remember correctly) for $90. And as I mentioned, $33 for a pound of powder, when literally the next table 10 feet over same powder was priced at $23?? It is up to the seller/vendor to decide prices, and most of them today were fair but some people still have their prices jacked up outrageously. Anyways, it was a decent gun show and I enjoyed wasting a couple of hours walking around looking at stuff.

Some of the reloading stuff was way overpriced... One booth wanted $33 for a pound of IMR 4350. Hornady bullets were fairly priced, in line with Bass Pro. I also found a box of Sierra GameKing .308 180 grain - I was starting to think they didn't exist anymore.

I just got home from it.Lots of overpriced 22lr and rifles, but also a few good prices. Not a huge selection of reloading stuff but was a few booths. Best deal I found (for me) - new Sierra reloading manual for $25. I had been meaning to buy it for a while but hadn't gotten around to it.

Edit - wrong thread.

I've read most of his stuff. My dad had almost the complete, leather bound collection that I read growing up. I have a handful of his books myself now. He was a great writer, Hopalong Cassidy, The Sacketts, lots of good stuff.

I tried to switch to U-Verse earlier this year for TV only - from DirectV. My neighbor had U-Verse and was very pleased, he had also switched. It took them 3 weeks to verify they could run service to my house, they finally scheduled the install and then kept postponing - waited 8 weeks total, 5 after placing the order. Tech came out, worked for 2 hours and then called an engineer who worked for an hour. They then came and told me my house was unserviceable, I was too far away from the main box to get a good signal. If my house was 30 feet to either side, or 200 yards further back from the main box (my other neighbor with UVerse) they could have hooked me up. But supposedly my house was too far away from the road and box... All of that BS aside, if they called me back tomorrow and said they could deliver service I would take it. Same price as DirecTV with more channels and features and more reliable (satellite goes out every time a cloud is in the sky it seems). I have compared Charter (Comcast is not available) and they are way overpriced, like double for the same features.

Man shot while teaching children to shoot skeet
TNMTBik3r replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in General Chat
More information would be nice. Horrible situation for the families involved. All of those kids will be affected by seeing that happen in front of them. -
How well do those loads work? I have seen some before but never shot them or seen anyone shoot them. As Brent referenced, snakes seems like the intended use for these loads?

I haven't seen any CFE223 either...like I said have been wanting to try it and see if it works to clean as good as the reports say. Should be up there Saturday.
-
Common powders - imr 4350, benchmark, varget, CFE 223 if you have it (haven't found any in months and been wanting to try it). Also some .224 bullets.

Got this from a friend off facebook BEWARE plastic bottles
TNMTBik3r replied to ted's topic in General Chat
Ah, drano and tin foil... Just saying, The Works works better than Drano... My knowledge is a couple years old though.. -
I would say every kid is going to be different, but I plan on starting my daughter around 5. I think I was 7 before I got to shoot, but I was shown how to be responsible and watched my dad clean them before.

It is better than any pork you will buy at a store IMO. But like any wild game is all in the preparation.
-
Will David or someone be there with reloading supplies? If so how does the stock look, I'm needing some common powders and stuff. Had plans to travel to Nashville and get stuff but the Borough is about the same distance away.
-
I haven't went in years, but we used to gig and shoot with a .22. Either way can be a challenge, we used to compete with the 22s to see who could make the furthest shot, etc.
-
Hmm, hadn't thought about reaching out to one of the local wardens to see if they had any leads. I may see if the guys here would have any contacts over to the east. I'm really only looking to shoot a couple for meat, but would certainly help try and control the local population.

Exactly the comparison I used. :-) I predicted a 60-0 win to my fiancee, they came up short at 45-0.

I was using Hornady One Shot, still have a full can plus of it and use sometimes. But I have switched over to using Dillon lube, which is based on the lanolin recipe. It works much better for larger/thicker brass.

I just paid attention today and having the same issue. I don't remember it before... I have a 46 inch wide screen and DirecTV standard def. I have adjusted every video setting on the receiver and my TV and still getting cut off. Hell I even set both device to full screen mode (4:3) where the display is just a square half the size of my screen and it cuts off.

I suppose I could make it a mini vacation and head somewhere... Thanks Dave, will check them out. Edit, I will have to call them. Google doesn't have a direct website, their Facebook hasn't been touched in 2 years, may not even be around anymore.

I know you don't like'em but ....
TNMTBik3r replied to Fourtyfive's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I wouldn't care if it was 9 cents a round, I would not buy from them. But to each his own, regardless I'm glad people who need ammo are able to get it.
