  1.   Not to get too far off topic, but I am really glad I did not go into aviation. I had a partial scholarship to get my airframe/powerplant (plus free pilots license) out in Oklahoma, and ended up not going. I would have graduated right when American Airlines tanked and would have been struggling to find a job. Instead I stayed home working in a computer break-fix shop using skills and certifications from high school and after moving between employers a couple of times it has really paid off.   Back on topic, still waiting for an update and hoping they find something soon. Even if it is wreckage, I am sure it will be a comfort to the families to know for certain instead of having to wonder.
  2. I found one of these a few weeks ago. 2005 Ford F150 completely decked out, only 50k miles. Located in Oklahoma and was a soldier getting ready to deploy so he was only asking 1/3rd of the vehicle value. The truck was "being sold by Auto Trader" but was not on their site. Supposedly Auto Trader was holding the vehicle and would arrange transfer after the payment had been wired. The vehicle could not be viewed or picked up in person. My FIL was tempted but I told him it had too many tips pointing to a scam.
  3. Actually I do have some that has not been deprimed and sized yet, forgot I dumped them in another box because I have so much. Not sure what HS may be in there. And have some berdan primed OJP stamp that has only been cleaned.
  4. This is for anyone here who collects brass. I recently purchased some 30-06 brass that has a bunch of Military brass mixed in. I have seen headstamps dated back to 40 and 43. If there are any collectors here who might be looking for a specific HS let me know. This has all been cleaned and sized/deprimed if that matters to you. I have seen LC, LC Match, Den, TW, SL and a few others. Note - I am not selling the brass, I intend to use it for target ammo. But I am willing to give a few pieces away if a collector is looking for a HS I have. I figured this was the best spot to post since I am not selling.
  5. I think the Midsouth, Cabelas, and Berry's tumblers are all the same with a different color and sticker on them. I have read a couple posts on other sites proclaiming that anyways. I have a Lyman Turbo Pro 1200 I am thinking about getting rid of for a larger tumbler. I have a Frankford Arsenal and it will hold almost double the brass the Lyman will. Keep capacity in mind depending on how much brass you think you will process at a time - I underestimated when I got the Lyman.
  6. Basically, they are preventing users from under 18 from seeing the posts.    "We will remove reported posts that explicitly indicate a specific attempt to evade or help others evade the law," the company said in a statement."   This does not mean they will stop all gun sales, just illegal gun sales and dealers offering to sell without BGC. Private party sales are exempt from BGC by federal law, so they should not be stopping these. So doesn't sound like much to me, but will see how it plays out. I could care less either way....
  7. I have several boxes of thin mints stashed around the kitchen. Several in the freezer, they are great frozen.
  8. I ordered some brass from a guy, shipping out of Florida. He shipped in a flat rate box with 1 day priority mail. Shipped on Friday morning, expected delivery was Saturday. Nothing Saturday, I wasn't in a rush so thought it would show up Monday. Monday morning the tracking showed the box had processed and left Nashville.  Tuesday the box was scanned back through Orlando! I contacted the seller, he tried to find out what happened but the Post Office had no idea, they said the box was marked to go back to Nashville and verified my address. Box was shipped back to Nashville, processed, and back to Orlando a second time. This went on for several days, box was processed through Orlando and Nashville 3 times and it took almost 2 weeks for a 1 day package to arrive..
  9. I do that with my 10/22. But I have a scope so not that difficult :-)
  10. I woke up this morning intending to just look at a couple of vehicles and then come home and make a decision. Instead we brought home a Chevy HHR. My wife liked it, Very low miles, got a good price, and it drives great. 30mpg isn't bad either! Heritage Automotive in Lawrenceburg was great to deal with. Thank you all for the suggestions in this thread, we just couldn't find exactly what we were looking for at any other lot or with a private seller.
  11. Certainly some questions still about what happened and how things were handled, but no way in hell an entire town could be part of a coverup. Someone would slip up in the past year and let the story out. It would have to be almost the entire town, all the friends of the families and such, lots of connections...
  12.   Good luck with it! I backed off from the Murano, it was a bit too expensive for the couple of minor issues and the owner would not back off the price at all.
  13. Thanks. I have heard a lot of good and bad about the CVT but have no experience myself. My neighbor trusts them and my bit of research seems to show the 2006 and later models really don't suffer from the early issues as often. We are going to talk to the bank today and test drive again this weekend to make a decision.
  14. We have been looking and found a vehicle that we both like and suits our needs. I am a bit cautious as there are a bunch of negative reviews about the transmission used.... We are looking at a 2006 Nissan Murano which has the Continuous Variable or No-Shift transmission. I know this technology has been around for years but there is a ton of bad reviews for the CVT failing, even failing after a rebuild. The 2006 and later models do not seem to be affected as badly though from what I can read. This vehicle has 92k miles with all of the service records including the recommended tranny service. Does anyone here have experience or thoughts on the CVT, or a Murano in general? Thanks!
  15. Dug through my stuff, found a Simmons bore sighter kit that has probably never been used. Simmons model 1480 kit complete in box. First message here or PM gets it, based on time stamp. Edit - claimed. 2 messages exactly one minute apart, first one by time stamp got it.
  16. Luke, sending PM.
  17. If you are loading pistol calibers, may want to consider the RCBS Turret kit. It will save you some time by not swapping dies constantly. For example, set your sizer die and expander die up, size a piece of brass and rotate the turret to expand. Rotate back and grab another piece of brass. You may hear/read that a turret press does not make as accurate ammo as a single stage, but unless you shoot rifle long distance competition it doesn't really matter. I also didn't look at the prices today, but I know at one point the price difference was not too far off. If you decide to stick with the single stage either the Hornady or RCBS Rock Chucker will serve you well.
  18. A couple of my manuals specifically have a section on 5.56. But it is only one or 2 pages and limited info. Just use .223 reloading info and your good to go. No need for the higher pressures just for shooting.
  19. I would imagine it would take a considerable amount of time as well, just wanted to get another couple of opinions.
  20. I have a Winchester 24 gun safe from TSC. It fit my needs. The few safes Lowes had at the time were not what I wanted.
  21. Sorry to dig up and older thread, but a question occurred to me this morning. I store all of my powder in my walk in closet, on the top shelf where only I can grab it. This closet has a fluorescent light in the ceiling, so about 3-4 feet away from the shelf with my powder. The light is not on but a few times a day for a few minutes. I know powder is susceptible to sunlight over time, but what about a fluorescent light? I could not find a good answer on Google. Powder is in the original containers, and my thinking is it would take years for the light to affect the powder but wanted to get other thoughts.

    upper deals

I have only seen a 18/20 inch barrel in stock at PSA a few times in the past few months.
  23. What lube were you using? They are not all created equal...
  24. Post office has to stay open somehow, think of your $1.05 donation keeping the lights on for an extra hour.  Wasn't there a difference at one time between tracking and delivery confirmation? Could that be the confusion? I haven't shipped USPS in a while because have a UPS account at work.
  25. Thanks for all the info! I have a few people/places to contact now.
