Lots of Walmart do, but none in middle TN that I have seen. Always a very limited selection anyways.

That is one I have looked at for my next 1911. I really like the Ruger SR1911 though and may get it first since it is American made. I read an article that Armscor/RIA may begin building some in the US though.

I installed the SSA-E yesterday in a new Anderson lower. Nice crisp clean break. Cannot wait to finish building the lower and actually shoot it. I plan to grab the ALG ACT for my other lower which will be a dedicated HD and short range plinking rifle.

Like the Facebook Middle TN firearms sell/trade pages have Colorado and Louisiana sales all over them today. I gave up on Armslist a year ago.
-
Pistol arrived back from Para today. Work order says they installed the safety plunger - thought it would be repaired/replaced, may just be the wording but makes me wonder if something wasn't done right from the factory or the LGS was messing with stuff. Work order also says they replaced the barrel (WTF!?), adjusted the frame, trigger, extractor. Can't wait to get out and shoot it now.

If/when I go I will swing over after work, from Nashville. Not going to make the drive from Columbia there just to look around.
-
I have ran it in 9mm and .45acp so far. The cleaning function doesn't make a lot of sense, never seen copper fouling in a pistol. But it burns well and loads have been very accurate. Not very dirty either, compared with Titegroup for example.

Yet another great report about that store. I have not been impressed with other Gander Mountain stores but may have to ride over and check this one out.

Found another place with very competitive pricing vs PSA. Primary Arms sells their stuff so must be good to go. Have some good prices on stuff, not sure who makes their barrels but all of the reviews I have found online (granted, not many) are positive. http://www.radicalfirearms.com/category-s/1832.htm

I ordered a Hanks amish belt and been wearing it the past few weeks. So far so good, nice thick belt and for the $40 I paid a great deal.
-
Saw your post on that trigger. It looks good too, but for the price might as well go with the #1 name. Placing my order now - here is the link if anyone else wants one. http://tradingplacepawn.com/geissele-super-semi-automatic-enhanced-ssa-e.html $184 shipped with coupon "10off"

That is what I heard - own one and will want to upgrade all the rifles.
-
I know the lower brand won't make much or any of a difference, kind of want a high end build but probably makes sense to save money where I can. A PSA lower with Black hawk furniture for $129 is a great price, throw in a $200 trigger and should have a very solid platform to mount this upper on. I know the barrel and my reloads are up to the task, add a good trigger and maybe upgrade my Vortex 4-12 scope should have me shooting a lot smaller groups. This really is just for fun, I don't shoot competition or anything at this time I just want a highly accurate AR.
-
Its hard to justify a $200 trigger but I think it will be worth it. I want more of a high end rifle for accuracy and a trigger is a big part. I shot some solid 1 MOA groups today with the mil spec trigger but I could tell the pull was throwing me off some. Now just have to decide if putting this Geissele trigger in a PSA lower makes sense.
-
Never shot a 2 stage before. But from all I have read that is the best way to go for accuracy. I did watch the video, had planned on going with just the SSA trigger but then found the SSA-E for that great price. I had considered the ALG, but it is just a smoother mil-spec trigger basically. Also looked at the Rock River NM 2 stage, can get it for $75 but from reading online everything says skip that and go to Geissele.
-
PSA actually has a complete lower for $129. I am trying to decide between snatching one of them and dropping the new trigger in, vs spending a lot more to get a Spikes or other big name.
-
I am wanting a trigger upgrade (and probably a whole new lower, built up better than this PSA one). I know Geissele is probably the top name, so started searching around and comparing the 15 or so models they make. This would go with my new 18" Wilson Arms bull barrel to help shoot smaller holes. I am comparing models and prices and found the SSA-E brand new shipped for $194 which is a good $50 off normal. Anyone have experience with this trigger? I am worries it may be too light for deer hunting, if I chose to use the build for that purpose. Primary role will be shooting off a bench punching paper and trying to see how small of groups I can shoot.
-
It is ok, they have that little woof bone - the lap dog will scare away anyone stupid enough to try.

Pack those rocks on a trailer and take them North and you can get several hundred dollars for them. Seen people in Michigan pay big money for rocks for decorations.

Put 100 rounds through it Sunday. Shot very well, should be much better as I actually build loads for this barrel. 55gr Hornady SP and 69gr Nosler CC - easily putting 8 rounds in 1.5" at 100 yards just shooting from a sand bag. Need to measure headspace and adjust my sizing die for minimal setback, then get more rounds loaded up and play around with OAL.

No pics available but I have a Pure Kustom Black Ops IWB/OWB holster for my 1911. Very nice holster (I found a great deal on an used one, almost no wear marks), all leather and very stiff so it does not collapse.

I unsubscribed from their email blasts and still got this announcement as well. Hilarious because 4 hours before I had an order in the cart and canceled cuz of the $15 shipping for what would have fit in a flat rate box for $6. In the past 18 months I have had at least 10 orders ready and canceled when I added the shipping charges - went somewhere else. I will check out these new rates next time I need to order but based on my last several orders will find a better deal elsewhere.

Basket of bullets being baked
TNMTBik3r replied to Dolomite_supafly's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
That blue looks great Dolomite. For anyone new to powder coating, several colors are a bit more difficult to make look good - my best results are with dark red and blue. Orange, yellow, other light or very dark colors have not looked good (for me at least and some other peoples examples I have seen) but the coating is still effective even if the overall color is spotty. -
Small primer .45acp...............................
TNMTBik3r replied to a topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I have a few hundred of each LPP and SPP. Haven't reloaded any SPP yet but it makes sense to me to consolidate and use the same primer for all my pistols (SPP). -
What are you shooting? I would say 5 feet of dirt should stop all common calibers.
