  1. I was going to pre-register, and just realized my membership expired last month. I don't even remember seeing a renewal notice from them.   I plan to try and attend at least one day but will see how things go.
  2.   Steel toed boots FTW!  :)
  3. I just watched it in Columbia. I bought a ticket online this morning, good thing because they were sold out when I got to the theater. The place was packed! Excellent movie. I heard it was good but really did not expect it to be so capturing. The book does offer a lot more material, particularly about Chris' struggles when he returned, but the movie was outstanding. I'm not sure they could have done a better job. I liked Lone Survivor, but the book was much better than the movie, which was more about the action than the struggle (at least in my opinion). American Sniper captured the emotional and mental battles in outstanding fashion.
  4. I'm fixing to leave the house to go watch it. My wife went to visit family, and taking her along would ruin the movie for me (she is one of those who talks all through a movie) so worked out great. I plan to buy this when available.
  5. CDNN had them as well and sold out the other day (yesterday maybe?). I have been tempted to grab a couple but I promised the wife not buying anything for a while...may end up sneaking a couple.
  6. Called RCBS, they said so the shoulder isn't being set back with a 1/4 turn past touching cam over? I said no, right now am at a full turn past cam over, 3 full threads extending below the turret head, and getting 0 setback according to the gauge - ok, send the die in for replacement.   Will see what happens when I get it back.
  7. Thanks for the info Dolomite. I am not too worried about case life so I full length resize everything now (used to neck size my 30-06 brass, switched back to FL with a .002 setback).   Played around with the die adjustments again this morning and not able to get any shoulder setback. It pretty much has to be a die issue, IF it is a FL die as labeled there should be some setback when set to cam over.
  8. Realized I entered the wrong measurement after turning the X-die two extra full turns. Shoulder set back was .001, headspace gauge showed 1.455". This was two full turns past cam over, not a realistic setting and not enough setback anyways.
  9. Plan to call or email RCBS but wanted to see if anyone here has encountered a similar issue. I started using a RCBS X-Die .223 a few months back to try and avoid trimming brass as often. I never had issues with the brass in my AR carbine, but when I built this AR pistol have had a few jams, failure to go fully into battery. OAL under 2.250" so not a length issue. Today I decided to figure out what was going on. I have a Hornady headspace gauge that I initially used to help set my other die sets but the X-Die was just set to cam over and shoulder setback never measured. So today I measured some 2x fired brass fresh from my pistol. Measurement was 1.456". Again the X die is set to just cam over the turret press. I ran the brass into the die then measured with the headspace gauge. Still measured 1.456"! Tested with a couple other pieces and same result, shoulder is not being set back. I grabbed my standard RCBS FL sizer die, it just kisses the shellholder, ran the brass through it and measured 1.453" - perfect. I tested with and without the X-Die mandrel that helps with case growth. The shoulder is not being set back with normal die setup. I turned the die two full turns past camming over, to the point it is not possible to cam over at all, and was able to get a slight shoulder setback to 1.455". Something isn't working right with this die. RCBS says the X-Die works as a standard FL sizer with or without the mandrel. Loading on a RCBS turret press. Hornady headspace gauge is zeroed on my calipers, brass is rotated 5 full circles to ensure accurate reading. Lube used is Dillon lanolin based and Hornady OneShot (tested both). RCBS standard shellholder. So, am I messing up and just not seeing it or is there an issue with this die?
  10. Looks like most of the stuff is usually Hornady, based on previous purchases and reviews.
  11. I have shot Hornady and Sierra seconds and they are just as accurate as factory firsts. Seconds are cosmetic blemishes and not damage (at least all the stuff I have shot).
  12. I typically do not order from Midway, but just placed an order for several bullets and wanted to share.   Factory 2nds, 55gr SP, box of 500. $34.35 per box. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/486541/factory-second-bullets-22-caliber-224-diameter-55-grain-soft-point-box-of-500-bulk-packaged   Several other good deals, I got some 6.8 bullets to keep up for this spring.   Two searches to see everything - Factory Seconds Bullets. http://www.midwayusa.com/find?dimensionids=4294840477 Blemished Bullets http://www.midwayusa.com/find?dimensionids=4294846060
  13. Put the state on the patch, like the logo on the website page? Or is that getting too complicated and potentially expensive?    I would be in for a couple patch size and maybe even coaster size.
  14. Been quite a few complaints on other forums lately. Shipping the wrong caliber is a considerable F up.   I tried to email their customer service a couple of times with questions and never received an answer but it was nothing major so let it go. I tried to call them in November about their gunsmithing fees and 6 calls went unanswered, finally got a hold of someone and they put me on hold, said would be one minute, 20 minutes later I hung up and decided not to deal with them again.    They have good prices but their CS seems even worse than Palmetto's.
  15. Nice. I have seen 4  in the wild, very cool creatures to watch. Saw one while hunting one day, came to the base of my tree and looked up at me, then went and caught mice in the field for a while.
  16. My order from PSA arrived today, including the scope/mount. I didn't pay much attention when ordering, did not realize it was the QD mount with rail on top - don't mind it, it is the more expensive mount I believe. The scope looks good, glass seems clear. Hope tomorrow I can get outside with it and check it a bit better. Will be a while before get to mount and shoot it though.   Also, Bushnell now has a $30 rebate on that scope. Started 1/1.
  17. I believe any of the Hornady 55gr options use the same load data. In the manual they have 5 bullets on that page, seems to be all their options. I shoot mostly 55gr SP and not the FMJ. Same price and SP are more accurate for me.
  18. Hornady manual CFE223 min is 24.8 to max 27.4gr That is 2800fps up to 3200fps. I use 26.5gr and seat to mid cannelure. I don't mess with crimping though.
  19. Run a bore snake through it twice and keep on shooting.
  20.   That sounds like a story.......
  21. Watching football. Wife is gone for a couple hours dealing with family issues. I am watching our kid and dealing with my family who are here visiting for a few days. I am trying to order more parts from PSA but their live inventory system is shit and will not let me add items that show in stock to my cart..........   Happy New Year! If any of you do get out be safe (the ones going out probably aren't checking TGO though).
  22. My parents came in yesterday, I got the chronograph I have wanted from them. Shooting Chrony beta master which has the remote read out. They included a tripod as well.
  23. Right on Dolomite. I would love to have a suppressor, just been unwilling to pay the stamp. I would love to have the NFA laws repealed and be able to build/own what I want. Back to the brace discussion, I am not too worried about it right now. If they ever release an official statement concerning intent changing the classification that opens up other issues for the ATF to battle. And if intent is what you need to be concerned with, take a picture of you using the brace as designed as evidence.
  24. I thought I wanted the Nexus 6 too. I used one for 10 days and sent it back. It was just too big, Google and Moto messed up with this one. Definitely spend some time with it before buying. I came from the Samsung Note line so used to large phones. I went to the Moto X pure edition and haven't looked back.
  25. Good year, I should have won a couple more of those games :) Let me know about payment. We all agreed going in.
