I may. Picked one up in the store yesterday and it felt great. The 2 stage trigger was very nice, not sure the poundage on it though. Only thing is, since I want this for target shooting I would want to step up to the Varmint series with the heavy barrel which is a bit more expensive. http://www.weatherby.com/vanguard-varmint-special.html I handled a Savage 10 FCP-SR while there as well. Great looking rifle and it is a Savage, but the stock is not very comfortable. Who knows, I may keep my 111 in 30-06 and pick up one of the Ruger Americans in 6.5 Creedmoor....

Walmart Getting Out Of AR and Pistol Accessories
TNMTBik3r replied to Moped's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I stopped in last night and saw a Surefire x300 for $154. I was very tempted by it and may go back today. They didn't have anything else interesting but I may have already missed out, that was first time I had been in Walmart in 3 months. -
Ditch McAfee and get something decent. Malwarebytes is great and will clean up anything on there. Never trust just one program, especially if that one is Norton or McAfee.

New stock has nothing to do with barrel swap. Just something more comfortable to shoot than the factory straight comb stock. If I spend the money to do a barrel swap, particularly if swapped to .308 for more target shooting, need something more ergonomic to settle behind.

I've been a Savage fan ever since my parents bought me my first one about 18 years ago. Had a couple since then and always great shooters. I have never owned a Weatherby but always heard great things - the Vanguard S2 is not made in the USA but comes with the sub-MOA guarantee from a cold hammer forged barrel and a two stage trigger. Trying to read up on this model and see if it is worth the extra money. The reason I am considering something new - my current bolt action is a Savage 111 FCXP3 (pre-accutrigger 3 screw adjustable, flat rear receiver with box mag) 30-06 and is a great rifle. A couple of my loads are 5 shot sub-moa groups all day long. But I have an itch for something different and newer. I could buy another Savage, or some other brand, and it may never shoot quite as well as this one. So it is an internal debate. I am also considering dropping down to .308. I could just replace the barrel but need a new stock as well so a newer model rifle could come in around the same cost.

Kind of late to help Pete, but how would a Weatherby Vanguard Series 2 stack up against a Savage 11/111/116? I'm having an internal debate about purchasing a newer model rifle for target shooting and occasional hunting. http://www.basspro.com/Weatherby-Vanguard-Series-2-Rifle/product/14061309064635/

I haven't shot one of the Mossbergs but the 3 or 4 rifles I handled over the past year and a half felt very sloppy. They may be good shooters, haven't read many reviews. But with a Savage you know you have an accurate rifle with great aftermarket options like Dolomite referenced.

I had a package bounce between Miami and Nashville several times once. The post office had put a label on with the incorrect zip code. The actual address was correct. Took multiple calls by both sides and over 20 days (for a 2 day delivery) before USPS got straightened out.

Savage definitely.

The last 5 times I have been to a restaurant and ordered a medium steak, it has been well done. I complained twice, and both times they brought me back out a steak that was even worse than the first one. This includes from some places that are know for their steaks. We rarely eat out anymore and if I am paying for a dinner I expect something edible not burnt crunch.

I don't remember how ESPN works - is it possible to switch that to a keeper league and let us pick 1 or 2 players to keep from last year? Or going to be a new draft across the board?
-
I am in again. Just saw the email from ESPN a bit ago that it was activated. I think $25-$50 would be good depending on what can be decided... Possibilities that I can think of: Pool enough to buy the league winner a firearm Pool enough to buy some bulk ammo Split the pot 75/25% or something for winner and runner up

I heard a report it was a dos attack. But then the news reported simultaneous core router hardware failure. Came back up right about 7pm for me. 5 hour outage.

I tried some - it meters even worse than Varget. Slightly longer, at least the pound of each I had on-hand and compared with.

Updated my laptop this morning, was on the tech preview. Windows update did not show the Win10 update, tried to run the media create and update, it just closed out with no message. So I played around with Windows Update settings went under Advanced and changed the site used for updates. Ran another update check and Windows 10 started downloading. My laptop is now official. No problems with install or activation, but I did upgrade a legit Win7 to the tech preview so that may have helped my case.

I think I read somewhere that the preview versions would automatically upgrade to the full release...let me see if I can find that or at least debunk the thought. Older article but says yes, preview will get upgrade: http://www.pcworld.com/article/2921034/windows-10-preview-testers-will-get-a-free-upgrade-to-final-rtm-version.html If I am reading your post right, you did the upgrade but are now back on the build release and not activated? So the upgrade is not letting you continue again?

I grabbed a Milt Sparks VMii for my G30 the other week and love it. It would be absolutely perfect if it rode 1/2" to 1" lower, but that is just a preference really. I also have a Pure Kustoms holster for my 1911 - it is an IWB/OWB leather holster and the 1911 absolutely disappears (not that they are very difficult to conceal anyways since so thin). With either of those I can carry all day and no discomfort. I have used several different hybrid or full kydex holsters. I liked some, didn't care for others (Blade Tech Nano is absolute garbage IMO for example). Kydex is very convenient with a single clip, simple to put on and take off even when sitting down in a vehicle. I ordered a hybrid Raw Dog Tactical holster for my G26 a week ago, it should be here tomorrow. Good price and good reviews on it.

Yes that is my understanding. Both of mine have been in-place upgrades so cannot verify.

It is a tool to create an ISO image, but allows you to perform an upgrade on the device you download it to. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

I updated my Surface Pro 3 earlier today. I did not get the prompt, so tried deleting the software distribution folder and running wuauclt.exe. Windows 10 downloaded but kept failing to install. So I decided to download the utility and create a boot USB - guess what, the tool gives you the upgrade option WITHOUT creating a boot disk or USB. Can get the tool from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 Download, run, and select upgrade this PC. So far no issues on my Surface Pro. I need to boot up my laptop and let the Win10 preview upgrade to the full version.

I ran some in 9mm and .45acp but not .40 - I got out of that caliber last year and never loaded any up with this powder. The powder shoots cleanly and accurately for me in the other calibers.

I am signing up out there finally. Calendar shows new member signups is 12-2pm Saturday - is that full 2 hours for the safety orientation once I submit my paperwork? If so I'm not sure I have time tomorrow and will have to head over Sunday morning. Or is that 2 hours just when they are there accepting walk-in applicants and the safety orientation is another time? -
A "beer cake". Wife bought a case of beer and stacked the cans wrapped with some sort of ribbon, then filled in gaps with snickers candy bars. She said she showed a picture of one online to my daughter, who said that is what she wanted to give me.

I have one (won it as part of Larue's giveaway around Christmas). It is a nice trigger but not quite as clean as my Geissele SSA-E. May improve as it gets broken in more, right now only about 60 rounds through it (trigger is in my 6.8 I just recently completed). I think it is a great deal at the sale price, if they were still in stock.
