  1.   I like them for the exact reasons that TN-popo stated in his previous post.  So, I will use Todd's points, and just expand on them a little:   - Extra visibility front sight:  Trijicon HD sites come with an all black rear sight, and a large, colored (either yellow or orange) front sight.  This draws your attention to, and makes you focus on, the front sight.  Focusing the front sight enhances your accuracy.  They also have tritium which gives you a standard 3-dot sight picture in low-light / darkness.   - Wide rear notch with U shape:  This allows you a quick visual pick-up of the front sight for faster sight alignment.   - "Rack-able" rear sight shape:  You want a rear sight with a large, flat front edge.  This allows you to snag the rear sight on clothing and rack the slide if you ever need to do a one-handed reload.   Granted, the HD sights are not the only ones out there with these attributes, so shop around and find one you like.  However, I would highly recommend that you get sights that have those features.  Heck, I know guys that run front and rear sights from different manufactures in order to get these features.  Before the Trijicon HD sights came out, I had a friend that used a XS Big Dot front sight, and a 10-8 rear sight.  He has since switched to the HD sights.   I do have a lot of experience with their "Bright &Tough" line, and they are excellent sights if you prefer a more traditional 3-dot sight system,  However, they do not have all the features of the HD line, so they are not a good choice for my needs.
  2. I have always been a fan of XS Big Dot sights.  I have them on a couple of pistols, and I think they are a very good sight system for a self defense handgun.    However, I recently installed a set of Trijicon HD sights on one of my Glocks, and they have quickly become my favorite sights.  I highly recommend them.
  3. The first handgun I ever bought was a Ruger P85.  I traded it a couple of years later and bought a SIG or a Glock (can't remember which).  I still wish I had the P85; it was a great shooting pistol.
  4. Nice!  I want a Tundra myself.
  5.   DAs do not always follow what the investigator wants.  I have had it work both ways:  I have asked prosecutors the ask for bond on someone, only to have them recommend them to be released without bond.  Also, I had prosecutor charge someone where I did not feel there was sufficient evidence, only to have the prosecutor drop the charges at the preliminary hearing.   As an investigator, I personally went out of my to not make any recommendations to prosecutors regarding charges.  I did not feel that was my job.  My job was to investigate the incident, gather all the facts and evidence, and present that to the prosecutor and let them make the decision.  Most of the time, the prosecutor did what I felt was right, but on a few occasions, they did the opposite.
  6.   True.  However the is no requirement for someone to start at the bottom of the force continuum and escalate up.  Anybody can enter into the force continuum at any level (even immediately to deadly force) if the situation justifies it.
  7.   Thanks!  It probably shoots better than I ever could.
  8.   Of the 4 days I was there, Yeager was only around for 3 to 4 hours on the first day.  He was informative and professional, no bragging, no war stories.  Does he have an ego?  Sure.  Do his Youtube videos sometimes get people all riled-up? Yes.  You have to remember that, in addition to getting his views out there, the purpose of the videos is to get Tactical Response's name out there, and to get people talking about the school.  Publicity is publicity is publicity.  Don't let your perception of him keep you from seeking training at Tactical Response.  They have many qualified and professional instructors...........and, yes, Yeager is one of those instructors.  People may not like his past or his attitude, but that really has nothing to do with the quality of training at the school.
  9. I have never been a big 1911 guy, but I fell in love with this thing the moment I saw it. It hung around at my local gun shop for a few months, and I was at the store again.........and I could not take it any longer. Home we went! Now I just need to take her out to the range. 10. I have taken Fighting Rifle and Advanced Fighting Rifle at Tactical Response.   I thought the training was pretty good.  It is not a basic entry level course, you already need to know basic shooting principles and how to run your rifle and pistol.  All of the instructors were knowledgeable and professional. Advanced Fighting Rifle was my favorite, as it has more to do with teamwork.  You will be doing a lot of shooting and moving with other team members, so you will work on movement and team communication.    It was fun and I learned a lot.  There were people in my class that were going through it for the second or third time.  Plus, once you go through a Tactical Response class, you can come back for the yearly alumni training weekend (2 days of free training!).
  11. Yes.  Indiana honors the TN HCP.
  12. I agree that the TCA does not specifically address non-resident out-of-state carry permits, however, it is quite obvious that the intent of TN law is that a TN resident must have a TNHCP in order to carry.  Otherwise, they would not have the requirement of out-of-state permit holders getting a TNHCP within six months of moving to TN.  It may seem to be a loophole, but I honestly would not want to be the test case on this.   I will probably get flamed for this, but I think TN should recognize out-of-state permits only if the person is a resident of the state from which the permit is issued.
  13.   Jets does have tasty pizza, but I got food poisoning from a Jets pizza one time.  Never been back since.   Back on topic:  I love cold pizza, so I never reheat.
  14.   There is nothing in the Constitution that entitles you to a jury of your peers.  I don't know where people get that..........maybe watching too much TV.   EDIT:  Found out that the "peer" thing comes from the Magna Carta.
  15. Prayers to his family and friends.
  16. That is an old video.  ZENN stopped manufacturing those cars about 3 or 4 years ago.   Until there is some radical breakthrough in energy storage and recharging, electric cars won't be viable outside of the urban areas.
  17. What a bunch of BS!  My AR will definitely shoot with a ham sandwich stuffed inside!
  18. Definitely 2 for me.  I would also want consecutive serial numbers, if at all possible.
  19. Of all the .308 rifles I have shot, I personally like the SCAR 17 and the LMT 308 MWS.  I have the LMT, and love it!   The only thing that really keeps me from recommending the SCAR 17 is the problem with magazine availability.  If I were to get a SCAR, I would have to convert it using the Handl Defense lower so that I can use PMAGs.
  20.   Not when it comes to gun rights.  The ACLU is typically silent on 2A issues.  Until they fight for all rights, I have no respect for the ACLU.
  21. I like it!   LWRC did a special run for a distributor of 100 rifles in bronze anodize.  They looked badass!  That looks similar to the LWRC, but there are some differences, so not quite sure what rifle that is.
  22. I have the BCM charging handles on all of my ARs.  Great charging handles! I have not tried the Gunfighter grip.
  23.   We are talking about NFA items here, there is no NICS or TICS check on a NFA item.  The background check is conducted by the ATF & FBI.   However, some local CLEOs will also do a background check on you before they will sign the NFA paperwork.  There is no requirement for that check, it is just something the CLEO will do just to check you out before they sign off.  Some CLEOs will do this background check, others will just sign the forms without any questions.  It just depends on the CLEO.
  24.   ATF/DOJ has proposed that the CLEO signature be dropped.  At this time, it is just a proposed regulation change.  It has not happened yet............if at all.
