  1. Damn, that sucks. I sent mine priority mail w/ delivery confirmation. ATF charged my credit card 4 days after I mailed it.
  2. Well, I received my C&R FFL yesterday. Three weeks to the day that I mailed my app to ATF. I wish they worked that fast on NFA stuff. Now, it's off to make copies and mail them out.
  3. Then we are in complete agreement here. Our personal decisions and actions are what I was referring to. I do disagree somewhat with the above statement. I agree that we cannot control the actions of others, or nature. However, I believe that our decisions and actions make up the vast majority of how we live out lives. I still feel that people who believe that outside forces control most of their lives are the ones that tend to lack personal responsibility. They look to for others to blame for their own problems. We cannot control the actions of others, or nature, but like you said, we can mitigate them. That is why we have insurance, seatbelts, airbags, and the ability to carry firearms to protect ourselves. I choose to protect myself, others do not. That should be a personal decision. Going back to my original point, what I think is truly sad is that someone would use a bible verse to actually say that it is wrong to protect themselves, or their family. Thus letting something other than themselves make the decision. No worries, no offense taken on anything.
  4. I could not disagree more. We are sentient beings. We have the ability to analyze our surroundings, and make decisions on how to live our lives. The problem is that some believe that they are not in control of their lives. These are the same people who blame others for the misfortune that they caused themselves. These are the same people that say guns kill people, or blame McDonald's for their kids being too fat. It is always someone else's fault. Personal responsibility is completely unknown to them. Some people have the courage and fortitude to make decisions for themselves, others would rather have someone else make the decisions for them. I make the decisions on how I live. Some will disagree, but I am secure in the knowledge that I control my life. You may call it vanity, I call it personal responsibility.
  5. I'll be honest here, I could care less what the bible says on this issue. If my life, or the lives of my loved ones, are in danger, I would not think twice. Mine and my family's survival is the only priority. It is truly unfortunate that someone would not protect themselves or their family based on some words in a book. Some people control their own destiny, others allow themselves to be controlled. Some people need to be the sheep, I guess. :-\
  6. Yeah, I thought it was pretty bad. Not a good show at all. None the less, I picked up some things I wanted. I thought the last Goodman show (at the fairgrounds) was much better.
  7. It is only the start. Gangs make the colors or letters of sports teams mean a great many things. 8. Kinda hard to tell, but it does look black. Black bandannas are also indicative of the Folk Nation. The Folks have many different gangs within them, including the Black Gangster Disciples, Gangster Disciples,...etc. The bandanna seems slightly set off center too the right, which is also indicative of the Folk Nation. I still say it is a gang symbol. Remember there are many, many more gangs than just the Bloods and Crips. Even stuff like sport team clothing, and colored shoe laces, can indicate gang affiliation.
  9. I talked to him at the show for a bit. He seemed like a nice guy. He had some cool products, although I am not into the sniper stuff. The custom Kydex holsters looked pretty good.
  10. Here you go: http://www.sniperproshop.net
  11. I wish I could have made it. Maybe next time.
  12. Welcome!
  13. Welcome!
  14. Welcome!
  15. I would have brought that to the attention of the store manager........oh, wait, it was in Shelby County. Nevermind.
  16. Everything else at Franklin Gun Shop is over-priced, why not the transfer fee. At least it's not Guns & Ammo in Memphis.....they charge $100.
  17. Welcome!
  18. Welcome!
  19. Even though my favorite Bond movie is Roger Moore movie, I would have to say that Connery is the best Bond. I would put Moore in second place. Lazenby did a decent job. Dalton did a pretty good job, but his movies were just okay. I thought Brosnan was a very good Bond in terms of how he played the character, but all of his movies sucked. The scripts and stupid stunts were......well.......stupid. I liked the way Daniel Craig played Bond, and the movie was one of the best in the past 20 years. I look forward to the next installment.
  20. In my opinion, your problem is ammo related, and not the fault of the gun. As others have stated, I bet the round of ammo is not in spec. Remington UMC ammo has never left me with a warm and fuzzy feeling.
  21. You are right about that! I had a S&W Model 66 lock up on me a few times during a qualification. The cylinder release latch kept working it's way out of battery, causing the action lock up. The trigger would not move. No way to correct the problem, so I had to qualify another time with a new gun. At least with a semi-auto, you can easily clear the vast majority of jams and get back into action. If it happens with a revolver, you're fooked. I'll take a pistol over a revolver any day.
  22. Welcome to TGO!
  23. Right now, I think the XDMs only come in .40. As far as I know, they have not come out with a .45 or 9mm.....yet. Yeah, they have the wrong picture in the ad.
  24. Welcome!
  25. The range at Natchez Trace SP has a 25 yard pistol range. There is also a rifle range, but I believe it only goes out to 75 yards (I could be mistaken). Both have covered shelters with tables for your gear. The range is free, but there is a donation box at the entrance. You also have to fill out a range permit card, they are located at the entrance next to the donation box. My only complaint with the range is that the pistol range is actually downrange of the rifle range. I don't know who designed it that way, but they need their head examined. On more than one occasion, I have been shooting on the pistol range, only to have people come in on the rifle range behind me and start setting up their rifles to shoot. Some people who use that range have absolutely no idea about range safety. So watch out!
