  1. So we are talking about Cheney and Palin wanting to increase the Executive powers of the VP. Correct? A quick Google search turned up quite a bit of whining about abuses of power by Cheney. Most of the stories were from sources that I certainly would not call bastions of objectivity. Maybe some of these people have a fear of a strong VP, and would rather have Al "The Tree" Gore standing on the sidelines. I'll bet if it was a Dem VP wanting all this stuff, we would not hear half of the complaining. I'll admit that I am not a big fan of Cheney, but I have no problem with a strong VP. I think the problem lies here: While Article I of the Constitution spells out the VP duties in relation to the Legislature, Article II is quite vague as to the Executive duties/powers of the VP. I would agree that this would allow some flexibility in VP duties. Ultimately, it will be up to the Judiciary to interpret the Constitutional authority of the VP. __________________________________________________________________ Since we have gone just a little bit off topic, we'll get back to the startling sex tape.
  2. Okay, what are we talking about here? Legislative or Executive powers of the VP? The clip posted in this thread points to Biden's comments on the VP's authority and duties as it relates to the Senate. Personally, I could not figure out what in the hell Palin was trying to say in her response. Again, please tell me what these "powers" are that Cheney and Palin have commented about. I have not heard them. Maybe then I can figure out what we are talking about.
  3. That is badass! Just fill it with OC pepper balls, and it will be even better.
  4. That is not true. Like you stated, the VP's voting rights only apply when there is a tie. However, as President of the Senate, the VP is the presiding officer of the US Senate. These duties are normally ceded to the President Pro Tempore of the Senate, as the VP has other tasks to perform. If you watch the Senate on CSPAN, you will see the duties of the President Pro Tempore, and there is a lot more to it than just the voting. If the VP wanted, he could preside over the Senate whenever he wanted. The President Pro Tempore only takes over these duties when the VP is not there. Biden stated that the VP can only preside over the Senate when there is a tie vote. That is simply not true. The VP can only vote when there is a tie, but he still has other Senate duties as the President of the Senate, and the presiding officer.
  5. Well, I am not sure what extra "powers" Cheney and Palin have said the VP has in the Legislative Branch. Can someone point me to that info? Regarding the video clip posted, Biden is also wrong in the duties of the VP in relation to the Senate. Obviously, he has no idea about the Constitution, either.
  6. Welcome!
  7. I have never heard of a SIG P235. Are you sure that is the correct model number?
  8. Welcome!
  9. Fortunately, I have other plans that day.
  10. Well then, I made the right decision.
  11. It is some sort of laundry detergent. I actually prefer Cheer.
  12. That doesn't look real.
  13. Damn! I will be at the CIS Defensive Pistol training that weekend. Oh, well, maybe another time. Please try to have another AR class at some point.
  14. Good one!
  15. I will be taking the CIS Defensive Pistol course next month, and all 22 of those P228 mags will be loaded and ready to go.
  16. Hmmm, interesting. I have never heard of Wolf doing that on every round, or even at all. Usually there are feeding problems due to low power, or extraction issues due to the poly/lacquer coating (but that usually occurs after firing many rounds). I hope the headspacing on your barrel was correct. Also, the chamber could have been out of spec. To be honest, I have never been a fan of Doublestar stuff. Hopefully it will work in your next AR, or you could sell it to me for proper disposal. Don't give up on Wolf yet!
  17. I used to have more, but I have shot about 2K in the past several months. I stocked up on most of it before the prices went too insane. I haven't bought any this year, but I still keep my eyes open for a decent buy. The good thing is, the prices seemed to have peaked. The Brown Bear is decent plinking stuff. My AR loves Wolf, and shoots it with no problems. I can only speak for myself, but I have a couple reasons for having a large mag stash. None of them have to do with zombies or TEOTWAWKI. I am not part of the tinfoil crowd. Back in 1994, I got caught with my pants down with the AWB and the 10 round mag restriction. I saw many gun dealers taking the second pre-ban mag out of the gun boxes, and selling them separately at hugely inflated prices. I wanted more mags for my handguns, but I refused to buy 10 round mags, or pay $80 for a $15 Glock mag. I don't know if there will be another ban, but I vowed never to let that happen to me again. Also, when I go shooting, I will usually load up my mags the day before. That way, I spend more time shooting, and less time reloading on the range. I also like taking handgun and carbine courses, so having a bunch of loaded mags means less loading on training days. If I only have 2 or 3 mags per gun, I am going to spend way too much time reloading.
  18. Around 10K of .223/5.56, but only about 1500 rds. each of 9, .40, and .45. Over the past year, I have be focused on AR related stuff, but have done little for my pistols. I am now trying to remedy that. I have my pistol mags built up pretty well (a few more to buy), but I really need to increase my supply of handgun ammo. I will probably focus more on 9mm, since I have more 9mm handguns.
  19. It is something to do with import points, based on design, caliber, features, etc... The .380 caliber Glocks do not earn enough points to be imported for civilian use. I believe that LE agencies can get them, but not the rest of us.
