It might be American Ammunition (AMERC). AMERC is total crap ammo. Much of their ammo is way out of spec, and I have seen many, many, many complaints about it. Ultramax looks like Black Hills compared to AMERC. Stay away! Far away!

Is your brother going to be named as a beneficiary or as a trustee? Maybe Joe can clarify this, but I believe that only a person listed as a trustee can have possession of the NFA item. A beneficiary (like any other non-trustee) can only use the NFA item when a trustee is present. I might be wrong.

Not true.

Why some people shouldn't be police officers
Reservoir Dog replied to saintsfanbrian's topic in General Chat
That's completely laughable. Meadowmb's comments and The Shield are absolutely nothing like real law enforcement. Neither of you have any idea what you are talking about. -
Holy !! Whoever did that should be banned from ever owning firearms.

Why some people shouldn't be police officers
Reservoir Dog replied to saintsfanbrian's topic in General Chat
Let the cop-haters talk out of their asses. It only proves how ignorant they are. Big +1 to all the LEOs on TGO. -
The advantage of having both you and your wife as trustees is that both of you can have possession of the NFA items. I am not sure about the number of beneficiaries you can have. Also, I believe only trustees can possess the NFA items. Be advised that moving your previously registered SBR into your trust will require filing another Form 4 and paying another $200.

Nashville Gunshow this weekend in New Smyrna
Reservoir Dog replied to towerclimber37's topic in Events and Gatherings
Thanks. Maybe I'll check it out. -
Yep. Very stupid. On another note, Cheaper Than Dirt is catching hell over on AR15.com over their prices for PMAGs. Not so much so for their price of $39.97 per mag, but because they inflated the MSRP to $59.96 in order to make look like you actually saving money. Even Magpul chimed in on the thread, saying that they have not increased their MSRP. CTD seems like bunch of crooks.

Is it a decent show? I might go tomorrow if it is worth going. I would mainly be interested in handgun ammo, and AR uppers. -
Why some people shouldn't be police officers
Reservoir Dog replied to saintsfanbrian's topic in General Chat
Yet you seem more than willing to start a thread claiming a police officer abused his authority. Maybe next time you should verify your info before posting your rant. Lots of people have badges. Firemen, security guards, even some have the much sought after CCW/HCP badge (). Anybody can order them online, or buy them off eBay. eBay has a whole section of their website devoted to police badges. -
LEFT 4 DEAD-ZOMBERIFFIC!!! (PC and XBOX game)
Reservoir Dog replied to Magiccarpetrides's topic in General Chat
Sounds like it is a fun game. I might have to take a look at it. However, it will have to wait, as my XBOX 360 is off at the repair center to fix the "red ring of death." Damn POS XBOX!!! -
I would also recommend Guns for America.

That is a smokin' deal compared to CTD. Cheaper Than Dirt has PMAGs listed for $39.97!!! http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/SearchResults.aspx?site=All+Products&num=10&q=pmag

US v. Hayes--interesting SCOTUS gun case
Reservoir Dog replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yeah, I think the Lautenberg Amendment has been challenged twice on the retroactive grounds, and the law was upheld. Lautenberg is not really an ex post facto law. As you stated, he is being charged for his possession after the law was passed, and not before. I am also interested in seeing how this plays out. The situation matches the Lautenberg requirements, but the law he was convicted for does not match the requirements. Interesting case. -
Georgia Arms also has .32H&R Mag ammo: http://georgia-arms.com/32handrmag.aspx

I agree. $450 per K is high for XM193, but I have seen other places selling it for about the same price. Personally, I quit buying when prices went over $300/K for M193 spec ammo. Now, Wolf ammo is approaching that price. Let me clarify something: You may see slight imperfections on XM type ammo. Most of the Lake City XM stuff I have seen has been pretty much in pristine condition. There is a level below that which is noted by the letters "PD", like XM193PD. PD ammo will usually be dinged up, and have small dents. It is still good ammo to shoot.
-
I saw an explaination of it in a thread on another forum, but now I can't find it. Someone posted an email from a guy at the Lake City ammo plant. Both are loaded to M193 specs. The "X" denotes contract overruns from manufacturing. Basically, rounds that did not make the cut for contract orders. You may see cases with slight imperfections in appearance (dents, dings, scratches, etc..). Nothing serious, and the ammo is just fine to shoot.

New gun store in 100 Oaks area of Nashville
Reservoir Dog replied to Volzfan's topic in General Chat
I also added to the foot traffic. I stopped by there on Wednesday looking for a Glock 23. Everybody seemed really nice. Nice to have a gun store not too far away from where I live. They seemed to have good prices. Hopefully they will sign up on TGO. -
I agree, it was kind of dumb. It is possible they did not want to turn on their lights in order to keep a low profile, and not notify the whole area the they police were around. Or they were probably trying to be sneaky, and try to catch their bad guy before he knew what was going on. The reason would depend on the situation, and why they were looking for that blue Honda. I think we know what would have happened, and it would not have been good for either party involved. I am glad that did not happen.
-
Yes they were in the right, as long as they were in the performance of their duties, which it sounds like they were. They were looking for a specific car, and thought your car was the one they were looking for. It happens. There is no "rule" that they have to turn on their blue lights. However, I will agree that they should have properly identified themselves a little sooner, as you had no idea who they were. I would attribute that to a little lack of common sense versus some sort of improper behavior. Like Hanlon's Razor says: "Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity." Oddly, I had a similar experience a few years ago. My mother lives next to one of those quick loan places. The store had been burglarized a couple of times, so the local police were on the lookout. I pulled into my mom's driveway one night (the driveway is next to the loan store). About halfway up the drive, bright lights appeared directly behind my car. I pulled up to the carport and stopped. As I exited my car, I noticed that it was the local police. I still have no idea where this guy came from, as I never saw his car anywhere. The officer saw that I was going to the house, and he stated that they were on the lookout for any suspicious activity at the loan place. I told him I was visiting my mom, and I thanked him for keeping an eye on the area. He left on his way. The incident was a little startling, but I knew that he was just doing his job. I did not bother me. Personally, I would just let it go. With two young children, I am sure there are other things to be concerned about. I am glad everything turned out okay.

True. Where there's a will, there's a way.

Since CCW laws are solely a individual state's issue, I would be interested to see how they could pull it off. The only Federal CCW law I am aware of is LEOSA, but doing away with that would only effect law enforcement officers.

I have seen them before at the Nashville gun shows. Good to see that they have opened a store. As usual, I will have to check it out. -
New Bullet Design from Hornady
Reservoir Dog replied to musicman's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Looks interesting. Kind of like the CorBon Pow'R Ball ammo, except without a ball.
