The facts are that Obama has released his birth certificate. It has the official stamp and raised seal from the state of Hawaii. The Hawaii Department of Health has verified that it is valid, and that they hold the original in their files. Those are pretty strong facts. In addition there is a complete absence of any kind of factual evidence whatsoever that Obama is not a US citizen. "Your kind" referred to people who believe that anything they do not agree with is some sort of vast conspiracy to hide information from the American public. They will believe anything posted on the internet that furthers their view, regardless of fact. Kind of like you positing a comedy hoax video from The Onion, then stating that "it's started," thinking it is real. The Hawaii Department of Health has verified that the document is real. They are the issuing agency, and not connected to Obama. What about that? Or are they also part of the conspiracy, as well? What court challange are you talking about. Most of them have been dismissed. Are you referring to the Berg lawsuit out of Pennsylvania. The same Philip Berg who is a 9/11 Truther, and believes in this vast government conspiracy? The same lawsuit that cites Wikipedia postings and internet rumors as it's factual allegations? Is that the lawsuit you are referring to? Please. :-\

I don't find any internet thread disturbing. Never said I did. I do, however, like to call out stupidity when I see it. Of course, this is a typical response I would have expected from your kind. Ignore the facts, and believe only what supports your opinion. It seems you find the truth disturbing, since it does not support your views. Oh, well. I will let you get back to your own little fantasy land.

I don't really care about Factcheck.org, either. However, the Hawaii Department of Health has verified that the certificate is real. If you want to keep grasping at straws, go ahead.

He hasn't ducked the issue. He has released a his birth certificate for all to see. It was posted on his website months ago, and it's all over the internet. It has the official stamp and raised seal. The Hawaii Department of Health has verified that the birth certificate is legitimate, and that they hold the original in their files. Obama is a US citizen, plain and simple. If someone has proof to the contrary, please share it. I am still waiting for responses to similar requests I made in several other threads on this subject. As yet, nobody has posted any proof. I'm not holding my breath.

Ruger pistols are very good. I had one of their early P85 9mm pistols, and it was a great gun. Never had a single problem with it. I wish I had never traded it away. I would say around $350 to $400 would be a good price on the P90 if it is good condition.

Personally, I would avoid a trophy shop. I have seen some pretty messed up engraving come out of them. If it is for a gift, I would go to someone who specializes in firearms engraving. Orion Arms (mentioned above) is well known for AR engraving, but I don't see any pistol engraving examples on their website. If you want someone local, you might give the Scott Pilkington a call. He is located in Monteagle, TN. I have no idea about his prices (probably not cheap), but his firearms engraving work is impressive. http://www.pilkguns.com/

HR 8791 Homeland prepareness bill - Martial Law

I love it when the tin-foilers get duped by The Onion. -
I can't believe we're still talking about this crap. :-\

Transporting Handgun through Illinois.
Reservoir Dog replied to wjh2657's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Your are correct in that the law says you can transport for "lawful purpose" to a location where you can "lawfully possess" the firearm. Nothing in the law mentions "domicile." In addition to the CFR, it is also codified in Title 18 of the US Code: http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/html/uscode18/usc_sec_18_00000926---A000-.html ETA: Ooops! I see you already posted this. I didn't read the other post. -

Increased enforcement around a holiday......what a surprise!

There are quite a few on Gunbroker. Most of them are in the price range the Poak quoted. A dealer at some of the Nashville guns shows had a used one. Seems like I remember it was in the $550 range. I can't remember which dealer.

History Channel is (right now) showing a special on Operation Valkyrie. So far, it has been pretty interesting.

New TGO web host report card. Post your feedback here.
Reservoir Dog replied to TGO David's topic in Feedback and Support
I have subscription emails turned off, so I can't really comment on that. I have never received any other type of email from the TGO site. IMO, the new server does seem a little faster. -
Petition to stop Congressional pay raise
Reservoir Dog replied to G27's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
We have the chance to "lay them off" every 2 years for Reps and every 6 years for Senators. Unfortunately, for the most part, we keep sending back the same bozos. -
How are the TN laws set up regarding cameras? Do they have to prove who was driving, or is the vehicle owner held responsible?

I am exactly the opposite. I have tried paddle holsters, and do not like them. I find them quite uncomfortable having the paddle there. I have seen paddle holsters break off the paddle during training, and others pull the holster out with the weapon during a draw (I did that once myself with a Fobus). I much prefer OWB belt holsters, but that is just me. YMMV.

We should have a contest to see who can dig up the oldest thread, and then start replying to it again. This one is over 1 1/2 years old. Not a bad start.

You can submit for renewal up to 6 months prior to the expiration. I would go ahead and submit as early as you can. http://www.tennessee.gov/safety/handgun/renewals.htm

I have a P228, and it is a great gun. It was made in 1989 and still functions perfectly. Personally, I think the P228 is the best P Series handgun SIG ever made. I recently used it in a CIS Defensive Pistol Class; shot around 1,000 rounds over 2 days, and did not have a single problem. They are great guns (as are all SIGs), so if you can get one at a good price.........do it! Too bad SIG is no longer making them.

Sorry for your loss. RIP Bingo. I know how you feel. I lost my pet of almost 12 years over Thanksgiving weekend. I still tear up thinking about her. RIP Cleo.

I have used PP many times for gun related charges, and never had a problem. I even know one company that sells firearms parts and accessories that uses PP to process all of their credit card charges. I completely understand that people don't like PP because of their anti-gun policies, but unfortunately there is currently no real alternative. There was one gun-friendly company, GearPay (https://www.gearpay.com/), but it looks like it never got off the ground. They have been in their "major site upgrade" for over a year now.

I agree. The one time I shipped a handgun via UPS, I was never asked for a copy of the receiver's FFL. Neither UPS or ATF regs require the shipper to get a copy of the FFL. God only knows where they get their info. UPS guidelines: http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/resources/prepare/guidelines/firearms.html FedEx guidelines: http://www.fedex.com/us/services/terms/us.html#firearms
